I'm nearly as excited as you, cuz you will very very soon tell me how wonderful the new MR is  I'm still only seeing it for sale at qpDesign.ca - the price is good at $49.95, but FedEx economy shipping to NZ is $62.49USD
Just putting it out there...
See how low shipping rates from the US can be!
Weight Small Pack Saver 7 - 20 days FedEx Priority 1 - 3 days
1lbs 15.99 USD 36.99 USD
2lbs 26.99 USD 37.99 USD
3lbs 36.99 USD 43.99 USD
4lbs 47.99 USD 49.99 USD

Great how we all vape a bit differently with the same gear.
One thing I admire about all the the Dvarws is the lack of moving parts - no af rings to get sticky, no juice flow to worry about, longer lived O rings as a result. Pretty much bullet proof attys.

Right? Amazing little atties, those Dvarws. :)

Hello, Shinies. Passing through...

Magee Marsh Wildlife Area

This is my favorite haunt. There used to be a public beach here, closed twenty years or so ago, then the boardwalk was built and has expanded since. They’ll average 10,000 visitors for Biggest Week of American Birding. The boardwalk weaves through the mash and those warblers are dripping from the trees. Some are so close I can’t get them with the big lens. Bald eagles nest in the parking lot, and there’s some woodcocks who nest somewhere every year a different spot. They’re always close to the path but blend in so well, it’s like Where’s Waldo. If you were to see a dozen people on their bellies in the mud pointing at something in the brush excitedly like kids on Christmas, that’s where the woodcock is.

Just up the road a piece is Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge. And a few more miles down is the newer Howard Marsh.

There’s been too many pictures of owls in my bird groups and were now starting to see more waterfowl, lots of buffleheads, always Canada geese.

So much diversity when you stop to look.

I’m still following the AU animal rescue guild. Love seeing all the little critters they care for. I am in love with wombats and flying foxes. And those micro bats! So stinkin cute!

I hope to be able to go and see them in person someday.
Sounds amazing Delores.

I get a Page Not Found message when I hit that link or even google the words Mabee Marsh Wildlife Area

I feel somewhat left out with all the Dwarv users here lol!

does anybody DL anymore on this thread or am I a dying breed  !!
I do a restricted DL and MTL with the Dvarw DL FL.

They are really good RTA's. Very easy to build on and awesome flavor.

:)

I'm not going to tell you what to get, as I haven't even tried a dSLR or mirrorless yet - I'm still firmly in the bridge camera/training wheels category.

But three sites that helped me decide between the gazillion camera models out there are:
Nikon D5300 vs Nikon D7100 Detailed Comparison
For a quick look at the differences between various models, this site is fantastic. I've linked to a comparison between @DeloresRose's Nikon on the left, and @charlie1465's on the right.

I found the reviews on this site were great, and the format meant you could compare cameras easily by looking at the different reviews.

Canon SX40 HS Review
Another good review site, I linked it to my wee camera
You're a sweetie! Thank you for the very helpful info and sites.

Your wee SX40 shoots awesome photos but also think that has a lot to do with the photographer. ;)

Not sure if I want a camera where lens become my new mega rabbit hole. I would probably fall in, and deep. :D

I just want something decent and it doesn't need to be super fancy.

Was looking at the rest of your photos on your Flickr page. Really nice job Ange. Please keep posting more there.

And so... my research project begins!!! HA

Step into the 21st century my friend! Film is expensive! Batteries for my camera are $40, but they last me almost a whole day. That’s saying something, with all the zooming and never shutting it off for hours at a time.

phone cameras have come along though. Anything I don’t need to zoom I use my phone. Very handy.
I'm researching many cameras. Checked my pics earlier and the last photos I shot with my trusty Yashica were from the 90's. :D

But I have since borrowed my brothers much more modern Canon from time to time. I like his but it's not for me.

@DeloresRose's link works for me.

I would blame it on Google and their news content fight with the Australian government. Wonder if Google is messing you folks in Australia???

Try getting to it through DuckDuckGo or Bing.

Alternatively you could try bypassing whatever DNS servers you are currently using and try the free DNS servers from OpenDNS. I've used OpenDNS for years. They're fast. It'll only take you minutes to try them. Just write down the IP addresses of your current DNS servers so you can go back if you need to.

Good luck :)

ETA: I just tried searching for the Mabee Marsh Wildlife Area via Google and it works for me.

I'm a new DVARWer. I have two DL V3s and one DL FL. You have airflow options which you choose by the inserts. I have all of them set up where they're actually airier than regular DL tanks like the Asmodus C4. And I'm blown away with the flavor and dense clouds you get by the smallest of coils and low wattage. I forget the details of the wire i'm using but I use four wraps with a 2.5 id at about 27 watts.

  I have a very very old 1980 something Yashica 35mm camera that I have not so much as looked at in decades.

Currently my best camera is the iPhone. Between you, Ange and Delores y'all have me pumped up about getting a more modern camera. :D
Go for it....I love photography...it's a really good hobby although I can see Carli getting in the way :D

I change depending on mood but mostly DL. I have in front of me four mods, all Dvarw DL's, different flavours and not an MTL atty in sight :D
