Thanks a bunch for finding the picture, dang that looks beautiful even with the bubble tank.

My old Samsung Galaxy S7 mobile phone died yesterday.
Apps crashing continually including system apps. No amount of rebooting, clearing caches or data helped. Served me pretty well the last 3 or 4 years. Battery wasn't really holding a charge anymore either.
So now I'm in the process of transferring the data to a new Samsung Galaxy A12. Looks a decent phone with a nice large screen. Pretty much the cheapest of the current Samsung range available locally - hopefully the camera will do Bludger justice.

Go smartless like me,it really is worth it.

It's like that movie Pleasantville, smartphone mode is all black and white...devoid of feelings and not aware of your surroundings.

Color mode is smartless and noticing little things in the world you missed before, talking to strangers, looking at the sky on a nice clear day...oh and added bonus is not falling into open manholes or getting run over by a car while checking your instagram or facebook.

P.S: Disregard all my ramblings against smartphones in case you need it for work ;)

Rambling is good.
I love having a still and video camera in my pocket that can share experiences in a second or two. I love being able to read the ECF threads on a bus or a train. I appreciate being able to reply to an email fast and easy. A WhatsApp post from a loved one - private and direct.

Hmmmm. Not sure if I understand that argument about smartphones making life devoid of feelings. Maybe we can chalk that one down to hyperbole.

I'd say a smartphone is the same as most tools. The more complex they are, the more you have to be careful with their use.

Very nice... my photos always lack pizzazz. I once tried the items surrounding technique. Everyone laughed at me though and it hurt really bad. I never shared that till now.

Here was mine..

The way i see it smartphones (when over used) are just a detriment to social interaction.
Phone calls? things of the past,20 years from now i am guessing people will just barely able to communicate using gutural noises and grunts like Neanderthals,on the other hand they will be able to type messages on their smartphones as fast as the superhero ''the flash'':lol:

Sonia (nurse i am going out with) i call her,no texts...no WhatsApp,old schoold voice to voice communication.
Heck i worked in the radio for many years so talking is my forte, her colleagues actually kinda weirded out i make an actual call, their boyfriends just send WhatsApp and that's about it.

And my actual comment about ''smartphones making life devoid of feelings'',take a concert for example.
Are people more worried about recording it and getting the proper angle and lighting or they are actually in the now and REALLY enjoying the concert.

Same when friends get together,i remember an era pre smartphone where there were actually conversations going on,now everyone is just more fixated on a ding from their phone than whatever someone is saying in person...impossible to have a full conversation without a ding ding from the smartphone interrupting you.
And then the usual ''i gotta take this'',do you really need to? or you just have to because of the fear of missing out on looking at the pic of a hamburger that someone posted...

I do see your point thou, long train or bus commutes you got a mini computer you can use to pass the time, get some work done or just get in contact with someone.

But me personally? i just think smartphone addiction (rampant world wide) takes more that it gives, but then again i think i am just one of the few weirdos that thinks like this ;)

Even if we agree to disagree on this topic you know i still love you bud

I guess I’m one of the smart phone addicts. I’m on one now!

It’s my weather, news, shopping, SM, music, books...

I almost forget it’s a phone.

I mute the ringer or use do-not-disturb whenever I leave the house, so if I’m talking to anyone I am not poking at my phone.

Heck, my truck is set to DND it and it’s started sending snarky texts to anyone who calls/texts while I’m driving. Hilarious.

I don’t blame tech for people being rude though- and I agree they often are.

Can't wait to see some of your night shots.

OK here's a quick snap from the A12
I haven't tweaked the settings yet but looking at this I think it'll be fine for my basic needs. I also like the macro options on this camera that my old S7 didn't have.

I'm finally seeng Bludger in HD instead of SD. He looks very happy. Thinking he had something to do with breaking the old S7.

Carli says, "yo wassup Bludger".

Oh yeah, nice Abyss. Did you ever buy the SbS kit for it?
