Anyway, I mixed some tests of the FA watermelon and raspberry, and they have a weird under flavor.
You did a mix of those together or as single flavors?
Which raspberry? FA? If so I never got any weird taste from that.
You might be tasting the rind in the watermelon.
When I used to mix FA Watermelon I did so at 3.5%. I always added 0.5-0.75% FA Strawberry (Red Touch) to boost the watermelon flavor, add some sweetness and it helps to kill off the rind taste.
HIC's note:
FA Watermelon (Red Summer) As with most FA fruits, this is very realistic, fresh fruit flavor - including some seeds and rind. It’s not very sweet, not like candy watermelon flavors at all. Standalone 4-5% is not unreasonable; it’s one of FA’s least strong flavorings. Adding sweeter fruit flavors to FA Watermelon can make it taste stronger; try that instead of adding Sucralose or other plain sweeteners.
The majority of fruit flavors are SnV. The MF fruit flavors are not. If you have a pre-mixed base (say like a cheesecake or something) you can add your fruits and SnV. If mixing from scratch with bakery flavors then they'll need steeping.
It’s similar to whatever that taste is in tobacco flavors - which is why I never found one of those I like.
Does anyone else taste that? I can smell it, too. Will it fade? I mean the fruit part of the flavors are good, but this almost drowns them out.
I don't do tobacco flavors or NET's, so IDK.
If both the watermelon and raspberry are FA they are SnV flavors. I never got any weird tastes from either of those.
