Look at that cute little face!
A great example of defensive camouflage. It really does look like a face - as if she has two big eyes, a nose and a grinning mouth (cats' whiskers too?) .

If you look at around 10 o'clock on the edge of her abdomen, you'll notice a bright pink spot. That was my wing-man's laser sight (google BUG-A-salt) in case the capture went south and I needed armed back-up. As it turned out, she was captured and released outside.

I was just wondering if you noticed much of a difference. I have a few boxes of the TX, but just haven't gotten around to using them yet because they last forever, lol.
Yes, I do remember a big difference in the newer ones but probably did not chalk it up to the fact that the coils were different. I am long past paying much attention to things or being in the hobby phase. I am just happy when something works well and calms my need for nicotine. hahaha

All I can do is think of the mess. And, for the superstitious, the bad luck.

It's funny to think of a "face" like that evolving for defense. So that spider's predators are frightened away by tiny, vaguely humanoid features? Wimps.

My best Xnas present ever. There's surprisingly little mess when the mighty BUG-A-SALT discharges. They say you get 80 shots out of one "magazine" of about a tablespoon of salt. Pretty sure vampires don't like salt so I'll be on the lookout.

Here's more on face/eye mimicry in nature:

Good afternoon folks,

I will continue with my little organization and follow up on what I have ordered from AliExpress.
In these times you have to expect that everything goes slowly, I'm not going to nag at any of the shops anyway.

My mobmb mtl got a new SnailTank, not sure I want to sacrifice more for the rba, I'd rather learn how to polish pmma, so finer sandpaper must be bought from someone who does car painting.

    Morning shinies ;)

As I'm ready to step up to a dslr camera from my Canon sx40 hs bridge camera, I've been haunting NZ auction sites. But the large size, weight and price for the specs I want has been putting me off. The size and weight of my sx40 is perfect for me - not tiny like a compact or mirrorless, nor big, bulky and heavy.

But!!! I then found this Sony SLT-a33. It's not a true dslr with its SLT mirror, but it has the large APS-C sensor I want. And even better the body is really close in size and weight to my sx40 and it has built-in image stabilisation. Even though it's an older model camera - like my sx40, specifications-wise it has everything I want. :w00t:

And in the What The Firetruck category:

Someone had a really really really bad day at work. Instead of putting my Australian Stubby on a plane to NZ, it got put on a plane to USA :facepalm::facepalm:

Thankfully it has now made its way back to NZ

Has anyone ever heard of this happening before? Or am I just special

I used to have a tennis racket thing with which I could zap flies midflight. You probably would have enjoyed that one, too.

It seems most likely that the FBI is involved since the package had to pass through the US.
It almost makes me ask, why are New Zealand and the FBI working together...

I thought the wife and I had caught a cold but tested positive for Covid this morning. We both have sinus cold symptoms but I have a really bad sore throat.
Hope it clears up quickly for you both, took about a week for me to get back to about 80%. I ended up with it just before Thanksgiving and started with the same symptoms. Plenty of water and Mucinex are what I suggest as you get through it. I'm finally starting to taste and smell a little.

Misery loves company - at least you don't have to isolate in the basement (dungeon lol) as I did. Hang in there!

I really just thought I had a cold until the sore throat got bad enough to wake me at 2 this morning. The wife just has sinus stuff and aches at night. She has fibromyalgia so didn’t think much about the aches.

I got vape mail today. My order from Myvpro arrived. I caught UPS trying to cheat on me. I got an email about a missed delivery, but I've been here all day--can't go anywhere whith Belle in the shop still. I called and complained and 30 minutes later the driver shows up--adult signature required, of course. Anyway, I got a silver Vaporesso Gen 200 and a Lost Vape Quest starter kit in gunmetal and walnut. Both are for my stash.
