the biggest health problem is obesity and diabetics

Obesity is the major health problem in the USA. And obesity greatly increases the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. When I was a kid in the 60s we rarely ever saw obese people. Now they're everywhere you look. And even the kids are, ummm, very large.

A good number of people don't exercise or eat properly. For many, when it comes to diet it's fast foods and/or not knowing when to stop eating. And like you mentioned other junk foods.

Type 2 diabetes is preventable. The causes: being overweight, obesity and physical inactivity. The exception being genetic predisposition. Type 1 diabetes is a different disease altogether and it's rare compared to T2.

As I see it, the medical and pharmaceutical industry's will make billions, if not trillions, treating the obese for the foreseeable future (and beyond). Smokers and vapers are a very small percentage in comparison.

It doesn’t help that there’s a fast food place on every corner and half a dozen between those corners. I could stand more exercise myself but rarely eat fast food. I could stand to lose 10-15 pounds but don’t consider myself obese. It amazes me when we drive somewhere and every restaurant or fast food place is packed.

Actually, smoking is still the number one cause of preventable death and disability in the US.

"According to the National Institutes of Health, obesity and overweight together are the second leading cause of preventable death in the United States, close behind tobacco use. An estimated 300,000 deaths per year are due to the obesity epidemic."

    taken from here:

and this from the University of Southern California:

I think the day will come in the not so distant future when obesity overtakes smoking as the leading cause of preventable death in the USA.

I haven't eaten at any fast food places since we switched to a vegetarian diet in the mid 80's. We do eat fish occasionally. I exercise every day. It's just a habit for me. When I miss a day I feel sluggish. It's the same here with fast food places being packed all the time.

I agree. But smoking is still a problem and it doesn't help that the powers that be have a vendetta against vaping,

My 5AVape Stratum Balance clone arrived a couple of days ago. It's a tiny little mod - white delrin and SS.
I already posted these pics on the sbs thread so apologies for repeating the dose:

I really like the look and feel. The chip is ok so far - same as the one used in the Ambition mods Eady sbs and also in the BXR clone.

That’s great that you do every day. I wish I was that motivated. I try to get in 3 workouts a week and am on my feet at work on concrete most of the day during the week.

    Good morning all.

I’ve been lurking on and off but not looking to buy anything lately. Just wanted to swing by and let you know I’m still kicking.

I lost my son earlier this month. He was 39. I’ll just say, it’s as bad as I would’ve imagined, and probably worse. I don’t think I was quite settled with my husband yet, and all the others I lost.

I have to admit I fell off the wagon, and I’m trying to remember how to get back on. I never stopped vaping but it just hasn’t been enough. I’ve upped my nic from 6mg to 10, and mixed some 25mg salt for pods yesterday. Rummaged through the stash for the pods and what a mess. I can’t remember what goes to what.

So I may pop in every once in a while to ask ‘what is this ?’ Because all of you have better memories than I do.

Oh Wow D. I am so very very sorry. The pain of losing a child seems unbearable. My thoughts are with you.
I am glad you popped in.
I have to say sometimes I feel like all are talking Japanese in here because I do not have any of the gear others have anymore and I cannot keep up with what is new.
Please keep coming in if you feel like it.
    We are here
