I do like the look of the stubby x-ray but not for $160. Overpriced in my opinion.
You might be right.
Inflation has gone nuts though. A loaf of bread that cost me $4 last year was "on special" today for $7.50. Cup of coffee that was $3 last year is now 5 or more. Energy bills have gone through the roof.
I was looking at second hand cars for my son today - 2011 Nissan X Trails with 200,000 km on the clock are getting $10k to $16k.

I know everything is going up but some stuff is necessities like bread and coffee but I need another mod like a hole in the head. I already have an 18650 but won’t pay the inflated price since it’s just another stubby with some extra cut outs.

The Tauren mech boro mod I ordered should be coming soon.

I'm going to experiment with aging the SS battery tube by adding vinegar and salt. At least for starters.

My guinea pig will be this tube from a Supbox.

    Here's the before photo:

The gold shield on the Tauren will be 2nd on the list. Might paint it over or remove it. We'll see.
Close (mask off) the threads with tape.

    Morning shinies ;)

I've been playing around on Aliexpress over the last week and so far I've only ordered drip tips and deck screws

However if anyone is looking for deck screws, this store has most sizes and it shipped them within 48 hours:

May I ask what is the desired result?
Not really sure to be honest, but I want some type of aged patina look on the battery tube of the new Tauren mod. The colour I chose is gunmetal and the shiny/glossy SS tube looks a bit out of place to me. Sounds like you have some experience with metal work - any suggestions? I've seen some products online specifically designed to patina steel but I'd prefer DIY.

If you like black, I used some high temp wrinkle black on a chaincase on my bike to match the black shortblock I put in and it looks pretty good. It has a little texture to it.

I'm not sure if you've had a Googly or not Mate but I noticed a few interesting results on there :thumb:

Thanks Dan. I did do some googling and came up with the vinegar/salt/aluminium foil technique. My guinea pig tube was left overnight in that solution and it made no noticeable difference to it.
Next I'm gonna up the ante and try heat staining with coffee grounds.

Thanks @borno . Is high temp wrinkle black a product?

The paint was in a spray can. The Harley dealer has it but I used another brand that I can't remember.

It kills me to buy commercial juice with their outrageous high prices knowing I can make a lot of juices for penny’s!
what kills me is not so much the cost (that too) but the amount of sickening sweetener added. I cannot vape any of it for too long. I never even add a smidgen of sweetener to anything I make

I was considering trading in my Toyota Highlander a few years ago and getting a couple of years older, same car. I usually buy a four-year-old car every four years. The price was manageable then at about 28K and now the same car is 38K. They were going to give me 15K for my car and now they offer me 6K.
