Hope everyone is safe and well <3

I have loved you all since 2012 but do any of you existentially miss smoking tobacco? I have dreams about it after quitting years ago. I miss cigars and the way cigarettes tasted after one. Please hug me, shinies because I don't know if I can cope. Still haven't lit up since the days of the cigalikes but I think I'm losing it.

No pics, sorry.

Big hug heading your way sweets. I still miss inhaling my beloved menthol cigs, especially in the mornings and when I'm unusually stressed. I just remind myself I no longer wake up coughing up a lung and how much I hated the stale smell of ashtrays. That's why I don't worry about quitting vaping; keeping the hand to mouth addiction is an acceptable compromise for myself. We all love you and will help if we can.

Another hug from me. I still have dreams where I've had a cigarette, but it's always because I can't find any of my vapes. And as I usually have around 15 setups within view and so many more in drawers etc, that always makes me laugh.

What keeps me away from smoking is remembering that first week and then that first month of quitting. It's just something I don't want to have to go through again.

Maybe try switching it up, getting in some stronger nic or a different style of device. But whatever you do, I get it.

I've had those moments of wanting a smoke, a lot early on but less and less over time. Very rarely now. It tended to happen in stressful moments, even when I was sitting in the kitchen with a vape in my hand. And on a few occasions after I reduced my nic level. I can remember the urge being very powerful, though it tended to fade away quite fast.

Sounds like you have been getting this problem for a while. All I can suggest is that you up your nic level a bit. Or maybe get some lozenges so you can give yourself a quick blast of nicotine when you need it.

    good luck

It’s odd because last week i mentioned to a housemate who I got vaping REAL vapes lol that wouldn’t a cigarette after a slice of pizza taste good. Out of the blue. Then I remembered the smell in my hair, on my clothes, trailing past me as I walked by, the stink on my hands, the morning cough, freezing outside because I refused to smoke in my house, etc…….

Then just this weekend my other housemate who doesn’t smoke or vape asked if I ever thought of quitting. Without any thought I said No. I ENJOY just about everything to do with vaping except when I am overdue to change my wicks but that’s because I’m lazy and another reason to keep 10-12 in rotation lol!

Like Letitia vaping satisfies my need for hand to mouth “comforting” (my description). I consider it a hobby as well.

Good luck. There are some great suggestions especially upping the nic a bit.

Sending extra hugs and a turbo-charged flame thrower to fire at the nico-demons and what/whomever else is being poopy in your life. Since vaping, I don't recall any smoking dreams luring me back, but there have been times when I needed extra nic in the juice.

I still have strong memories of the time I had quit smoking for 3 months and fell back into it. That first pack was not the cigs of blessed memory, but were the taste and smell of stale, dirty, ashtray. It still took nearly 15 years before I found vape and was able to actually give up the smokes for so far.

No dreams here, but I rarely remember them anyway, so who knows :)

And no, don't miss cigs or pipes at all, never was much of a cigar smoker. I just remember that after about my first week of vape only my chest rattle in the morning went away. No, don't want that back!

I have to have a bowl of virginia cavendish every once in a while but things are slowly getting better. I don't get a craving too much, just clinging to nostalgia and better times of the past. Not a good thing to be sure. Hang in there!

It took me a long time to completely quit cigarettes. At one point I was vaping, using nasal snuff, and snus and still didn’t quit completely. Might have something to do with my wife still smoking, maybe not. It’s a mental battle for sure. Sometimes I catch a whiff of a cigarette and the memories come flooding back. I think we all go through what you’re experiencing from time to time. One thing I do that seems to help is I have a good assortment of net tobacco extracts on hand so if I’m feeling the urge then I vape a net tobacco mix.

Seriously, I can't think of a better forum community than you guys in this thread. Even if I don't comment regularly these days and often forget to drop an emote on posts, you all are my go to group for vaping support and have been for more than twelve years. The daily check-ins alone show that you all truly care. So, thanks for being you <3

No shiny other than batts, coils and wicks because my mechs never die. Sometimes, I'll fire up a regulated when I'm feeling lazy

    Constantly.
Also miss the world in which it was common, accepted, and affordable.
Times change. We cope & adapt as best we can.
