good morning people......

hey everyOne... hope life finds you well and good!!! nice to see those who haven't been heard from in a good while.

@AngeNZ --- awesome photos, as always! Will be snowy here soon. Yay!!!

@Letitia --- love the Daisy pics + updates!

@Tor R @Daniel Forsyth --- besides the demise of the vape companies you guys mentioned, nearly a year ago Hussar sold the company to some large vape manufacturer. they stopped designing and manufacturing Hussar high-end products. but, their first joint product was a high-end pod device with an internal battery (WTF???).

oh well, those companies won't be the only ones to come to an end. the demand, and current trend as everyOne knows well, is for "easy" vape devices (disposables and pods w/int. and/or ext. batteries and a couple with rebuildable pods). my reaction is mostly a non-reaction, or, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

as i think most of us (perhaps) see it, the market for RBA's and ext. battery mods has yielded (Big Time) to the "trend of the times". the high-end market is ever dwindling. haven't seen anything that interests me in a very long time.

truth be told, there are only a few ways to design a decent (mass produced or H.E.) RBA or a mod.

i haven't purchased any vape gear in well over a year. have plenty (yeppers). very happy with what i have collected over the years.

still makin' my own DIY juices. mostly vape rda's + RTA's on mechs these days, though always have a regulated mod going. still drip daily. cup of strong azz black tea and dripping, it's like a seriously mindful Zen thing for me! LOL

this mornings drip......

other than that, i'm well, as always the many things life serves up come and go, i do my best to ride the waves as they present themselves....... and yep, getting pummeled by the occasional Big Wave is never fun (LOLx100), but getting back up on the board is what matters most...... yes

'til the next time, be well all......

    Morning shinies

MIxed juice earlier. My batches seem to get bigger each time and now I do 6-8 weeks worth at once. Be easier if I used larger juice bottles, but I need my easy squeezy ldpe CG bottles. So I just do 3 x 60ml bottles of each mix.

    Hey there mate,
He sold the workshop, and I know there was a panic at Monarchy as Hussar does most of the machining for them.
But I wonder if he has slowly returned because there is something that flickers in my memory that something Monarchy has now been done by him.

Like Husar, the owner of Steampipes Christian is a cnc machinist and vapor, which is why they are skilled at details too, and they are creative.
If I understood everything correctly on the live show he had tonight, Steampipes will continue to make parts for attys but there will be no more complete ones. If so, I am impressed because most people in this industry, when they leave, they are done with everything.

    Hey Tor,

When Mateusz (Hussar) initially posted the FB video announcement, he said they were planning to keep the workshop running. But that was quite some time back. At the time he said they would continue manufacturing for other designers and continue doing repairs for their own gear.

I seem to recall Hussar manufacturing all the Monarchy gear??? Hussar's machining has always been top-notch. I'm very happy to have one of their v2 RDA's, a fav of mine.

That's good news for Steampipes customers that Christian will continue making parts for their atty's.

So many have completely left the vape scene. Besides the ones listed below, many others have ceased operations. Most of those have been noted in older ECF threads.

What was once a vibrant scene is now but a shell of what used to be. <sigh>

Van & Del closed shop in 2022 right after they released their last RDA (Despot). Those were manufactured by Hussar. Very nice RDA.

Krönig Mods (Sweden) appears to be gone. They haven't posted anything since 2022. They used to release new limited edition mech squonks yearly. My Krönig Box mech squonker is a fav (always w/a FLVR RDA).

Adrian Yew Hon Sunn of FLVR (Malaysia) hasn't been heard from in ~3 years. A long while back he sold me one of his personal OG FLVR RDA's + a bunch of accessories. LOL, I ended up with two.

Crafter's Den (Malaysia), who made the Pocket RTA's and RDA's is gone. Solomon closed his operation shortly after releasing the Pocket v2 RTA.

StattQualm (Switzerland) - haven't seen anything new from them in a couple years. Since the last Arise RTA.

Atmizoo (Greece) is still riding the boro wave. No new RTA or RDA in quite some time. Last RTA was the Aer. Last RDA was the Creek back in late 2018 or 19 (also a fav).

SvoëMesto (Germany/Russia) - nothing new in a long time. Still among the best MTL RTA's around.

Limelight (Serbia) - since he released the SBS mod, Dejan and Maja ventured into designing and manufacturing a vape mod for the alternative stuff. They still manufacture and sell regular vape gear. Very happy with their SBS mod and Freehand S mech sqounker.

There are still "some" H.E. manufacturers around, mostly all located in the Euro. A handful still left in the Far East (Japan and Korea).

KHW Mods, Dvarw RTA's, is still going strong. LOL, vaping a Dvarw DL on a Fakirs SBS as I write.

In the SBS FB group there is an Italian, Marco, making some pretty awesome looking mods (see Morena Marzola's posts). Several of his newer designs have caught my eye.

Tube mech manufacturers have all but disappeared. There are a few single person shops left in the Euro. I still see a market for those in the BST groups.

And I still watch what gets listed in the high-end BST groups. I won't order anything from Europe or the Far East anymore, too risky with the "changes" plus I hear many stopped shipping to the US due to those ignorant changes.

I've found peace with Steampipes, pulled the card once more, now I think I have enough parts to keep my Cabeo's and Cocoons alive for the next 10 years. At the rate people are buying at the clearance sale, they'll probably be mostly empty within a couple of weeks.

One of the few good things about buying high end, my most used atty is a KFL'21, it and my Wicket have always been together, 140k puff now, and I haven't changed an o-ring or a coil screw yet.

    good afterNoon people......

pictured below is my original Eleaf Pico 75W. i purchased it when they were initially released in late 2015 or early 2016. it still sees daily use, dripping in TC via Arctic Fox.
    IMG_9020.jpg

the body paint is heavily worn on all sides. a few years back i thought about getting a wrap for it.

but then i thought "i effing love my worn little Pico, it's like me, aged", so no wrap then. LOLz
    IMG_9021.jpg

the display is still very bright, it's as bright as any of the unused new ones in my stash. the paint on the fire button has worn out, revealing the copper metal below. LOLz

when fasttech <<<RIP>>> was still "among the living" i purchased some spare Pico boards and displays. i have yet to have a Pico board fail or a display dim or fail on me.

shortly after receiving my first pico (pictured) i bought many more. for my stash (or maybe I'm just a vape hoarder!). LOLz

that original Pico is going on 10-11 years. and that, in my opinion (which truly means diddly-squat) tells the true tale of a high-quality mod.

then again, what the eff do i know.

Pico with Arthic Fox software is probably the Chinese mod that gave the most value for money regardless of the year.
I have had two that were given to me as defective and needed a screen.
If I were to find something to criticize about Pico it would have to be the variation differences between them in TC. For a while I thought it was my build that played a role, but it's probably the 510. Still just as good a vape and for the price we have given, Pico is a big winner.

Thanks D, I appreciate you checking in and making suggestions for me. I am sorry to hear about your heart attack. If memory serves me correctly, you have lost a husband and a son in the last five ish years? I would have smoked too. But we know we cannot and I am glad you got it under wraps again.
Yeah I lost my husband, one brother, my mom, my son and before the grave marker I as even placed on his grave, I lost another brother. And in between, my parrot and 2 of my 3 dogs. I had gotten my last dog, Georgia, when I only had Rudy left, I lost him a couple years ago. And Georgia died suddenly one month after my heart attack.

I’m just going to try to get my health on track and hopefully take a trip or two next year.

You are a tough broad. Way tougher than I.

I am very sad to hear that Georgia died. She was way too young for that.

    Sourcemore is shipping again

I just got a shipping notice today for an order I placed end of September.

Remains to be seen if I actually get it.
I got the same notice yesterday. Fingers crossed. Health Cabin seems to have found a solution as well. Luckily I don't actually need much these days since it seems like back in the day slow boat shipping times.
