My GS was recently deployed to Japan. For years he has vaped a disposable called Lost Mary. He visited just before he left for Japan and I asked him about
vaping there. He said they sell some vapes in the military base shop, mostly disposable and not much choice. I guess they don't sell Lost Mary.
Yesterday the wife got a package from him which he asked her to forward to him. She opened it in case she needed to declare the contents. It was two boxes of Lost Mary's, I forgot to check how many vapes were in each box. She looked up the regs in Japan and they were confusing. One clause said liquids containing nic were classified as medicinal and would be confiscated. Another clause said 2 vapes would be allowed and all vape packages would be opened and examined. After some texting GS said lots of his buddies had done it with no problems. Maybe they declare them as filters.
So tomorrow I will go down to the USPS shop and try to ship them. If they want to know the contents I plan to tell the truth. Since they contain lithium batteries they will have to go by land, and presumably by ship.
If I can't get them shipped then they are mine and he will get one of his marine buddies in the US to handle it.
I've read some stuff over the years about
vaping in Japan. Somewhere I read that their laws are all messed up and confusing. Like you can't buy them or import them but it's legal to vape.
