Perhaps there is some tiny debris left over on the threads from during the manufacturing process?
Here's what I would try:
1) Use some white vinegar and warm water on a microfiber cloth and give the threads a good cleaning. Like muscles deep into it kind of cleaning! LOL
2) Try using a non-metallic abrasive pad (like a Scotch-Brite pad). I've seen that suggested (with good results) for other RBA threads (and for other kinds of non-vaping stainless steel threads). Then clean the threads afterwards.
If those fail, then perhaps something was not exactly up-to-snuff when your Shift tank was manufactured (tolerances?).
Another option....... If you have more than one Shift tank (lot's of freakin' LOLz, yes SMT, Ange more than likely has a few) try swapping AF rings and chamber tops between tanks. Who knows, might just work.

Good morning shiny people. It’s been three weeks since I was given the tracking number from Sourcemore for the replacement order that was shipped wrong and received in December. I emailed them since the tracking hasn’t updated and was given an excuse that there was a problem with customs declaration. I’m so tired of dealing with this.
I got the same excuses, but I could tell that it wasn't customs, at least one the US side. Once my order hit stateside, it progressed at the usual speed. It just took forever to hit stateside.
It’s always one excuse or another. I’m done ordering from them until I hear some more positive shipping stories. I placed an order today with ecigmafia for a couple of the innokin foretex kits and spare pods. I reviewed it and really liked it. I’m still using the review sample but decided it’s good enough that I want more.

Evening all
Had to do a juice restock and decided I wanted something new to tinker with.
So I decided to try the recoil 3 rda. Looks pretty nice and it should squonk well from the reviews I saw.
Figured I better order something so I don't lose my shiny badge....
I am curious about the flipside too. As much as I have loved my topsides my stock has dwindled. Yall seen any stateside?

I looked a couple weeks ago and couldn’t find any in the states. I contacted ecigone and they sent me an invoice and shipped it to me. I’m really liking it so far.
