around the same time I found this forum I found another one. The other one I read a thread...they were SO mean. They were brutal to someone just because they thought he posted something to sale too soon and for too much. Name calling, rudeness, etc. I never posted a single time.
I have been on some forums where people were micromanaged to the point of insanity. I don't find this forum to be that way. They seem very good at herding vaping cats around here.

Personally, I think ECF is doing a great job at managing what has obviously become a large forum in the scheme of things. It's not Facebook in size, but comes across much better, IMO.
Being a frequent posting member in the Outside (I'd have an extra digit in my post count if posting in the Outside increased post count), I've seen the moderators in action many times. They treat members with respect and when it gets to the point where they can't, the offending member gets a vacation. That lends a little peace and quiet to the forum and prevents knock-down-drag-out arguments that have nothing in particular to do with the topic at hand, in most cases. I can't say I've ever seen a case where peace couldn't have been restored if the offender had just quieted down. Moderators nearly always start with a friendly reminder and it's up to the offender what happens after that.
ECF is a good place to live if you are a vaper ... the best from what I've seen in other EC forums.

Being new here I've been generally impressed with the site. I've never ran into site loading issues or slowness but i'm sure it happens. Maybe additional donations can be raised to help the site get better bandwidth if the need arises. On the rules and infractions, i guess i need to review the rules again but i think the general rule of commonsense needs to be practiced. We should all be adults and respectful of each other. Without rules we would be in anarchy, I'm talking in general.
I can't really bash anyone for enforcing rules, as long as their is a process for repeals and it sounds like their is. The beautiful thing about the internet and the age of social media is if you don't like it build your own.

The only problem I have with ECF is that i spend way too much time here. My wife is now thinking I am cheating on her because I am posting all day and night...LOL
Don't worry though, I showed her what I am up to and she said that as long as it keeps me off stinkies she is ok with it
Also, the bad thing is that I am the sys admin at my job and it allows me to be on ECF. Others in the office are banned for sites related to tobacco....LOL.

When I was the net admin for a military site in Germany I was on the other side of the filter because "How else am I supposed to know what to block?"

I think everyone does a great job and I really appreciate having this forum here for those times I need to know something or having a problem. I can nearly always find others who have been there and found an answer from someone on here, it's really great! I would definitely prefer active enforcement of rules and really appreciate all the hard work of everyone...
That's your choice, but it's also their choice to allow or deny those who don't want to be verified. It's not their fault that people commit to buy something and never pay or generally cause problems. Rules are implemented because not all people can be trusted to conduct honest business on their own.
If I read "Bump for a good friend & nice person" in the Classifieds one more time, I think I'm going to vomit.
I know the Classified Section has become more of a headache than it's possibly worth, but the bumping of threads is out of hand.
Just list your item & if someone wants it then they will contact you.

I think the classifieds here at ecf are worthless. It has become a place for people to flip harder to get items for profit. Some of these people need to be registered suppliers with all the money they are making flipping items

Maybe not totally worthless, but the inflated prices are a bit of a joke. If the vendors tried to sell their wares for the same prices that USED items sell for, they'd be called money grubbing asses.
Just to be on topic...well I'm not sure how they could improve this problem.
Having been a moderator for a site that is probably as gigantic as this one is now, I give full respect for all the mods/admin/techies that dedicate their time and effort to make this as great of a place as it is. Total thumbs up! There is an insane amount of work that goes on that 99% of us probably haven't even seen and it is because of dedicated teamwork and a desire to stick to the rules that work for "everyone" by a diverse group of the ECF staff.
If I were to offer a critique, it would be that there are way too many threads, sub-threads and stickies. I'd love to have a "shortcut" way of visiting my favourite ones without having to scroll through the other stuff every single time.

I will likely get flamed or jumped on for this, but..... Typically when I read a complaint I glance at the items listed above the avatar, if it does not say "Supporting Member" I don't give the comment much thought. In the same way when someone wants to discuss politics and then says, "but hey I will not waste my time voting", well don't waste my time complaining about it then. So I know I many will not like it but with all the accolades about the site but not enough (IMHO) wanting to help out with $24 a year to make things better...... for me "that dog don't hunt". For those that do support the forum financially thank you.
If that was for me Yels, I am, and have been, and Will always be a supporting member..I truly believe in ECF with all my heart..but
none the less, for me that makes no difference, supporting member or not, when it comes to what my main points are here at the start of this thread. Members are important, no matter if they are a supporting member or not.
