It would be nice if all the flavoring companies were more transparent about their products right on their website and by answering customer emails regarding potential harmful ingredients and any and all questions a consumer may have about where there product originates etc etc.

Good thread- we all have a right to question any and all claims by any and all companies even the ones who aren't registered here because no flavoring has been deemed safe for vaping.

You should probably ask companies nicely and not sound threatening.

Nobody knew at the beginning. We don't know if the Chinese knew about the USA popcorn factory incident that led to the bronchi obliterans in some ppl. In the early days of the formation of ECF, some of the original Veterans began discussing it, fortunately. There have been many discussions of diacetyl since then, but it just keeps getting shoved back in the threads. With the last BIG diacetyl discussion, there were too many fights on the thread, and it kept getting locked on us. A few ppl were banned and a few just left ECF over it. At the last, ppl just tired of posting on it because of the bickering of the two distinct groups: the anti-diacetyl and the pro-diacetyl.

Since then, hundreds of ppl began hounding the suppliers about diacetyl, and luckily since then, suppliers have appeased their customers by making wiser choices on the juices they supplied and that they compounded themselves. Things are much better.:) If you ever get bored, here is the diacetyl thread below that had so much bickering on it.

One more thing ..... suppliers do not have to say where their ingredients originate - that is considered proprietary information. All the FDA requires are the ingredients on foodstuffs. However, eLiquid is not regulated yet, so technically, nothing is required - as best I understand it.

You should probably ask companies nicely and not sound threatening.

They may not have to disclose where they originate but I would imagine they could explain what a product of the USA means over made in the USA. I don't want their proprietary secrets -- I want to know what product of the USA means as opposed to made in the USA. The FTC makes labeling rules with what terms can be used.

Oh and by the way-- looking at the bottle again on the side label they do name their manufacturing Company in San Marcos CA 92078 and then-- Product of USA. Makes me wanna go look at everything in the spice rack now...lol

Another question if anyone knows do the other companies list that they are made in the USA or product of the USA on the bottle? I don't know because I've never gotten original bottles except from Capella's.

I know this thread is old and probably not updated any more but its such a great thread.

Mom and Pops does not contain diacetyl either.

From their website:
Diacetyl - We are aware of the concerns faced with diacetyl. We do not have any flavors containing diacetyl and will not add any. Mom and Pop will always disclose any dangers we are aware of.

Old thread yes, but interesting.

I have had a nice long telephone conversation with Tom at Capella's when I sent an email to them asking about diacetyl. I have no problems using anything in the Capella line in my DIY as a result.

I use Flavour Art as well. They are very forthcoming on their website about flavors NOT SUITABLE FOR VAPING, I take further heart in the fact that they are doing research into the effects of vaping.

I first learned about diacetyl from my very first juice supplier, Unsmoke.us. I had emailed asking them for a panettone flavored juice and the owner replied he would use nothing that contained diacetyl, that flavoring contains it and gave me the reasons why he would never use it in juices.

I think most of us are well enough informed to make good decisions about what we vape after we've been at it for some time. I am not so sure about the new vapers coming along and it is my earnest hope that most juice providers have the long term health of vapers in mind when they concoct their juices.

dadgum yall! this thread is as simple as "i want to find sulfate-free shampoos" (because they are gentler on the hair).

ha. I asked for this exacct thing in my health food store on Wed. Lady didn't know.

I agree. Many of us are looking for as clean a vape as possible, organic, gluten free, diacetyl free, sucralose free, certain dyes free, etc.

I see that as no different than my not eating processed foods.....which also just taste awful to me.

Not wanting artifical sugar and dyes in my vape isn't political, is it?

One can never know with any flavor even tobacco if it contains Diacetyl because flavors are mixed. Just because it don't taste like cream doesn't mean it don't have cream flavor in it for smoothness etc. Dekang claims they have no Diacetyl in their ejuices, maybe it's true.
But I still rather take their word for it than some vendor's who mixes and gets cheap flavorings from who knows where and can't even tell you if it's safe or not because they don't know them selves.

Added Heather's Heavenly Vapes and Ahlusion... A criteria for adding to this list: juice vendor must disclose this on their on their website. For instance- Rawr claims they are diacetyl free, but won't disclose on his website. Not bashing, but... putting it in writing means something.

I had to smile when i read through this thread.

Please let me explain why. I get the impression that we are fooling ourselves with threads like this one. We are so focused on juices containing diacetyl in it that we are making lists of vendors and juices that are diacetyl-free. I do not have any problems with this. The thing however is that people might falsely believe that if 'their' juice or vendor is on the list, the juice is safe to vape. The list becomes the 'truth'. Well, what if by a laboratory test it turns out that it doesn't contain diacetyl, but it contains traces of stuff that is even more harmful to the body? Fact is, you don't know for sure that it does not contain any harmful substances. Therefore, in my opinion, one cannot conclude that if a juice is diacetyl-free it is safe to vape. In fact, until laboratory tests prove that EVERYTHING contained in a juice is safe to vape, it should be regarded as non-safe (better safe than sorry?).

Juices that are made of all-natural substances are not free of unhealthy stuff. Just because it is all-natural does not mean it is all safe-to-vape. As far as i know of there are no tests performed that conclude that all-natural means it is safe to vape. Don't kid yourself, even nature contains substances that are harmful to your health if used the wrong way. When i make my own coffee juice, can i be sure it doesn't contain harmful stuff that shouldn't be vaped? No. When i make my own banana juice, can i be sure it doesn't contain harmful stuff, even if i grew them myself? No. Unless you have a laboratory test performed concluding that all substances can be vaped without doing harm to your body, you take a risk while vaping it.

The simple matter of fact is: We don't know. And until we do know we are taking a risk.

Now, does this mean i stop vaping? NO! I simply like it too much to stop. I am taking the risk. Yes, i will try to stay away from the diacetyl-containing juices as good as i can (well, unless it is too-good-of-a-taste to leave it in the cabinet;)). In that way, this list and any other information that i can use to educate myself is very welcome. But still i know i'm taking a risk putting something in my lungs that shouldn't be there in the first place, even if it doesn't contain diacetyl.

If you wanna live a healthier life, stop vaping and breathe oxygen. If you're okay and want to enjoy life, VAPE ON.
