i never quite understood how to do lung hits. i never did them with cigarettes, or hookahs. i always was a mouth hitter, fill my mouth then inhale. if i try to lung inhale even with airflow all the way open its still like sucking on a straw and my throat gets that little dimple thing. and i cough. every. single. time. i also cough if i try to exhale really fast or if i lauch (exhaling fast..).

also how are you supposed to blow the "huge" clouds? if i exhale quickly it seems to disappear faster, and i like seeing it linger. ll.

...I have a feeling I will see a difference in the new one that is coming prebuilt with dual moustache coils though...

...One of the guys is sending me a Patriot that he is building before sending, using twisted wire...

...I honestly have no idea how much juice I am using every day because I switch and mix so much, 2 drops of this with 5 drops of that and 3 drops of the other. lol

Claudia, I couldn't agree more. I buy a bottle of my adv (15ml) and it will last close to a week almost exclusively in a dual coil rda.

Also I think there is some kind of mystical ratio to how much juice you go through and the surface of the coil that is hitting the eliquid. For instance, the nano coils inside something like an evod are exposed to less surface area than a micro coil in an rda (more about the device than coil size, I think).

Mustache coils? That's a new one on me. Twisted coils tend to behave like a gauge or two below the gauge they were twisted with but add more random area on the surface so you get unexpected notes of the juice to come out. (Also, not for new builders as the ohms can be funky and bigger wire is tricky in some rda's.)

Top, basically you inhale through a "straw" like you said and you have to go past that "dimple" part in your throat and just keep inhaling. I had to work on it to get there but it is worth it once you get that first full feeling.

Believe it or not, that heavy menthol helped. And as far as exhaling a big cloud there are 3 keys, high vg (since it gives you a more dense vapor), full lungs and a slow-yawning exhale. You just kind of let the vape pour our on its own, don't force it out.

Uncle, I have that exact same feeling about the person that got me into vaping. He kicked smoking like lightning and was almost disgusted if I had a cigarette or told him I was struggling. Yet he finds it odd that I have no issue with him using chewing tobacco.

BTW, gift on its way Uncle, sorry it took so long I just wanted it to be right. :p

You guys with your mechs, sub-ohm, quad coils (moustache coils???) and mention of 26xxx batteries really make me feel behind the times! I feel like I'm FINALLY satisfied with my setup and I'm resistant to change. So I'm still using my Vamo (the workhorse and I love it) and my itazte (not loving it anymore but still using it until it dies completely) and MT3's. I know there's much more and better out there, but I went through many trials and tribulations trying to find something that worked for ME, so I'm sticking to it for the time being.

Also I just got a smartphone a month ago, my TV at home is still a large square box, and my hair has had the same style since high school. Yep, resistant to change!

Just wanted to point that out for lurkers or those who might have smaller or less powerful setups, whatever works for YOU is what you need to keep you off the cigarettes. For some it might be a tiny stealth vape, for some it might be a cannon with a battery big enough to last 7 days between charges.

Carry on!!

I cannot agree more!!

I love my sub-ohm dual micro coil, cotton fed dripping dragon but, I will be honest that I still rock my ego with a simple glass tank with pride. Basically, its like with cigarettes; one does exactly the same as the other... so too with pipes, cigars, chewing tobacco and etc. Its a nicotine delivery device. The important thing is that it works for you and keeps you not smoking (or at least replacing some of those cancer-sticks with vaping).

Yes, I am a device junkie and I love to fiddle with things (even if I frequently can take it apart and not remember how it grows back together lol). But my device, as are all, do exactly the same thing as a tiny ego with a "baby tank" and that's keep you off cigarettes. Don't be shy because you don't have shiny new toys, be loud and proud that you are saving your life.

So to those that humbly smoke their cigalikes and enrolls and those that hide in the shadows of vape world and even those that spout huge clouds like a dragon in mating season: Be Proud!! You have beat big tobacco and its side effects at its own game, and the end result is that you live longer, healthier and happier because you are not tied down to a flaming stick of death!

If you are happy with your current setup then that's what you should use by all means. :)

I have a real problem with ooo shiney pretty. LOL

In all honesty though I wasn't satisfied with what I was using, I was unhappy with all of the tanks I tried for one reason or another so I tried dripping and loved it. That gave me what I needed to stop craving cigarettes.

As far as the thread on smokers, I was disgusted with the smell of cigarettes long long before I quit, and I was disgusted with myself for not being able to give up what I thought was a vile, disgusting, deadly addiction. My feelings have not changed.

I do not mention vaping to any smokers, if they ask I tell them as much as they want to know, I do not ever try to convert anyone, it's none of my business what they do, just like it's none of their business what I do.

I don't mind the smell of a burning cigarette, but the smell on someone who smokes is almost nauseating to me, but only in very close contact. Thankfully things at home are pretty much platonic and have been for years so it's not really a problem, but when I hear him hacking and trying to cough up a lung I so want to say something, but I keep quiet for the sake of peace.

FOOLS.
Young and dumb (unrelated to biology).
The trick is staying "quit" and that's nothing to take for granted.
The only "over the hump" is death. Then they can relax.
And now they are sounding just like zealot, militant ex-smokers (ANTZ)???
Stupidity never ceases to amaze me.

I be there with 'ya FQ!

My egos are going nowhere and I still use them. ALOT. I am not so impressed with glass tanks though. I'm having a lot of issues with them leaking after the first coil change. The mini's not so much, but full size? Yea. The mech's and rba's are tempting, I can admire them and appreciate other's joy - but I can't drip during the day. And quite honestly, if I were to pick up another hobby, figuring out ohm's would not be it. Not by choice. As frustrating as coils are in a tank, I may be attempting to rebuild those but that's not choice IMO.

If someone showed me mech's and rba's as a new vaper I would have run away.

I don't think I knew what they were talking about either. I just made some assumptions. Now I'm not so sure. Anyway, I gotta ask, why would you want to do a direct lung hit if you didn't smoke cigs that way?

I don't really know how to describe it but it appears to just happen with RDAs, I think your mouth fills up too quickly with the vapor with these so you inhale while still taking a draw.

I am more closely with you on all the new stuff. I love my provari, but the main reason is because of the freedom and security I feel in not having to worry about the device dying. All I need is MORE BATTERIES, PLEASE. Instead of the slow death of a fixed battery and wondering if I am doing something wrong with my vape since I am losing taste, etc.

I will know more about how I feel regarding RBAs once I have the Russian set up and running for a couple of weeks. The Igo-L is an improvement, but I can not vape it exclusively all day. It is just too much of everything. Too much taste, too much vapor, too much nic (until I figure out where I need to be with that). I keep going back to my 510 attys and the evods for when I am out and about. Also, for when I want simple, which is more often than I thought it would be.

More is not necessarily better. So, do not feel bad about not keeping up with the Joneses. If you have found something that works for you, stick with it. It is fine to experiment and get something new. So far my RBA toe in the water is great in small doses. My evod on my spinner or MVP2 is perfect for out and about, and I can still see where I am going when I am driving.

I do not think I will ever own a mech or do a sub ohm coil. No interest outside of how very pretty and sexy looking some of them are. I can not remember my own name sometimes, never mind having to figure out which batteries have high enough amps to power a mech and how low your ohms can go/how high of amps do you need and how many watts you can vape at. Gee golly, Miss Molly!!!

Math is not my strong suit, DH says common sense is not far behind that (he says if he put me in a paper bag and spun me around I would be lost for days), and all those numbers are too important to remember and make sure they are right before I try to enjoy a vape. I would be so worried about blowing myself up or burning the house down that I would need a cigarette or a Xanax to calm down before that first vape on a new coil and battery in a mech. No way for me.

Now watch me start posting after my 1 year anniversary that I bought some ridiculous mech and am building a .6 ohm coil for my Russian. I do not think that will happen, but I also said I would not buy a Provari or build a coil.

I don't do math either, I just know that the AW IMR batteries are fine to slightly below 1 ohm, I think to .08 but don't quote me, and my coils are 1.2 and 1.4 so they are safe. I got an inline volt meter that I use periodically throughout the day to make sure the batteries don't go below 3.6 volts, I just unscrew the atty, screw in the volt meter and hit the fire button and it tells me the volts left in the battery. Believe me I am working hard at being safe. :)
You don't need math and charts to find a safe place to be with a mech, just know the lowest you can go with your batteries and don't go below that on your coils. Again don't over think it. :)

Mechs are no more likely to blow up than your spinners are as long as you use common sense. Anything with a Lion battery can catch fire, cell phone, laptop, flashlight, etc. The circuitry in your Provari prevents it from firing if your battery is too low or if there is a hard short, checking with an inline volt meter tells you when it's time to charge, and a good quality battery charger has safety features built in as well.

I use the same batteries in my Nemesis clone as I do in the Provari and before I got the inline meter I would take the battery out of the Nemmy and put it in the Provari to check it.

Your definatley NOT dumb.

And yup, I think you said EXACTLY the same thing about using a mod with seperate cell batteries at one time. You didn't want to blow yourself up. I agree with Claudia in that anything with a Li-on can cause a fire. Laptop batteries catching fire are not unheard of. Anyone charging a cell overnight ot leavng the house with their phone charging is too (like me).

I don't even think my lil' Gripper mech accepts protected batteries, and absolutely not a kick. But I can definatley tell when the battery's drained just by the quality of vapor. It's not that big of a deal.

Just don't throw a battery in a pocket with keys or spare change. (A little experience. I didn't know that - just got warm. I thought the battery was dead. Fresh were kept in a case. Oops.)

I think a lot of the mech and RBA stuff is fueled by the vapocoplyse (however that's spelled). That's fueled my desire. I know my next mod (hopefully) will be another Provari = back up and insurance. I'm saving all my old heads and egos for parts because reading the original act, it makes mods illegal, including garage mods unless it's modified significantly.
