I have made a couple of DiY juices. And I am finally building coils and using cotton wicks. I am growing up in vaping. No mechs or sub ohms though. Not happening here. I would blow myself up. I know me.

I ordered my first mech last night! And they scare the bejeebers out of me too, but I'm even more scared that the FDstupidA is going to end up causing PVs to become so expensive that no one but Bill Gates and Warren Buffet will be able to afford them... so I got something that my electrical-genius husband can probably keep running for me, no matter what.

this beauty: (though I think the fire button is slightly different on the one I'm getting -- gold, but flat instead of rounded)

I keep reading that you can put a kick in a mech and it turns it into a regulated mod. But I also read that there must be enough room for the kick so I ended back at Start. I guess not all mechs have room for a kick. Not worth it to me to do the research to figure it out. Do not want one bad enough.

Yes, I also ordered a kick for it; this one is a Smoktech variable-wattage, since that's what I'm most used to. And that's true, especially with mods that have just fixed tube lengths. The Fallen Angel is a telescopic, so it can use short, medium, and long batteries, and I can use the kick with the short and medium batteries, though I'm not sure if I'll be able to use with the 18650s, maybe not; there was a review of this Kick that said this one is a bit longer than a "normal" Kick, so I may only be able to use with with 18350s and 18490s/18500s.

The great thing about Kicks is that they're useful in 3 different ways: yes, they turn a mech into a variable APV; they also give you a little protection from the vagaries of that much electricity, functioning as a fuse; and, instead of getting a "lessening" vape as the battery discharges, as is normally the case with a mech, you get the same effect as with a variable APV in keeping the output voltage at whatever you set, instead of a continuous drop. I've used the 1100mAh 18490s with my Sigelei enough now to have a handle on how long they last, so that will most likely be my default battery length with the mech; I'm also accustomed to 800 mAh, like the 18350s, because of my vv3s, and it's not very long-lasting, but thank goodness the vv3s have pass-thru mode, which saves them. With a mech, it doesn't seem they would last long enough to make using them worthwhile.

Haven't smoked an analog in over 5 months, however I still like the smell of people smoking analogs. Friends come over thinking they can't smoke now at my house. Not the case, I welcome it.

I have no desire to smoke when around others smoking in my house, and have a pack of analogs in the fridge that I haven't touched or want to touch.

Something wrong with me?

Nope. You are just fine. In fact, doing great. Welcome to the thread. I do not care to be around smokers much anymore. Have not smoked in my house for over 20 years so that was no biggie.

I always hated cigar smoke. I was on a mission to find a lighter that worked like a mini torch so I wandered into a local cigar shop. There were a few guys there smoking cigars. I was amazed that the smell of that cigar smoke smelled wonderful to me. Absolutely wonderful. I chit chat with the guys (I am an old lady) and inhaled as deep as I could. Who would have thought it?

I read about many people here that still enjoy cigarette smoke without picking one up. I think a lot of people fall into either the hate the smoke or it does not bother them. I find that the smell is now a turn off to me. It reminds me that I am glad I no longer am a total slave to the mighty cigarette. I feel victorious.

Then the next day I can have a craving for a cigarette. Go figure. I think for me it is more of an emotional trigger rather than a sight or smell thing.

Welcome to the thread. Stay and chat a bit.

Probably not "wrong," but maybe a bit different. I still have that last open pk in a ziplock in the freezer, it's how I know that this is MY CHOICE, not something forced on me by anyone or anything including lack of cigarettes -- I choose not to smoke them, because I understand that that would just prolong the addiction -- there is no "cheating," because my brain cells would know, and they're real PITAs; give those so-and-so's an inch and they want a damn mile! :D But, the longer I go without smoking, the worse that cigarette smoke smells to me. Even when I was smoking for a month after my illness, if I smelled it when I was out somewhere, it didn't smell good even then. The 115 days I spent smoke-free before my illness completely changed my feelings for that smell -- it used to be such a wonderful smell to me, walk out of a store and smell it in the parking lot; now I just want to grab my nose and turn my face away, get upwind of it! :D

Not how most people are, but also not unusual. I can tolerate the smell of cigarettes as long as it isn't direct smoke from the cigarette. I love the smell of sweet cigars. My uncle who quit 15 years ago likes the smell of cigarettes in the pack and the smoke smell.

In other news, took child to local town fair. He had a blast. Went on the ferris wheel with me. Went on the jumbo potato sack slide with his aunt. Went through a maze with mommy. Then found a pack of kids about his age in the fun house (the one with the uneven floors, and spinning tube exit) who all had allday bracelets. We didn't get him a bracelet since we got there only an hour until closing. Attendant said he saw a bracelet on every child while winking and waving my child to go through again and again.

Using aqua tank because protank isn't satisfing me at the moment. Got Patriot clone in the mail today. Came prebuilt dualcoil at 0.7 ohms with silica wick. Tried it and had hot spots. Tried to fix the hot spots and ended up breaking the coils. Will rebuild later. Stabbed myself with kanthal and ended up with a blood blister (think thats what its called).

Some have sections that screw together, and if it's a little bit bigger than your 18650 battery then it has the kick ring. If it's telescopic then you can use a kick with 18350 - 18500 batteries without issue. Might or might not be able to use with 18650.

Top, it is so great to hear that the baby is having a good time. Good for that ride operator during the last hour of the fair.

I poked my finger with a piece of kanthal last month. Surprised that it hurt all day. No blood blister though. You must have done that just right, or should I say wrong.

My uncle who quit 15 years ago likes the smell of cigarettes in the pack and the smoke smell.

I *loved* the smell of my cigarettes before they were lit -- a kinda bitter-sweet, very complicated aroma; I'd take it out of the pack and run it under my nose for 5 mins sometimes before lighting it. My husband thought it was a) very weird, and b) would be great if I could learn to enjoy them that way -- without lighting them. :D Maybe that's what this Virginia ejuice gives me, because the first time I tasted it, I recognized it immediately, "Virginia Slims!" But it must be the smell/taste of the tobacco itself, because the lack of burning makes this a somewhat sweet rather than bitter taste.

Morning folks, glad to see the thread got going again... thought I broke it Sunday lol.

Not sure why people are scared of a mech, unless you are sub-ohming or very careless they're pretty foolproof.

Andria, careful in thinking that the "fuze" function of the kick will work as the same level of protection that a regulated mod will have, my "vape safe" fuse went out in the first 3 days and was useless. The good news is that even if you have a short you will feel the mod get hot very fast (not burn you hot if you stop pushing the fire button) and pull the battery out. In several cases I have had a battery get hot this way and was no worse for wear after cooling down.

The main thing is to simply learn to vape safe. Learn what your battery is rated for and don't go past it, you will notice a drop in performance (without a kick) long before you harm the battery and probably before you would recharge with a regulated mod (near 3.6 volts).

In any case I would recommend 30 amp batteries (Sony vtc4's and efest) since they give a high enough amp rating to go down to .2 ohms (even if you're not looking to go there) and will last nearly 18hrs even when vaping at .5 ohms.

Either way, be safe and remember to use your head... oh and get a mod that's vented. You'll thank me later ;)
