Dang, for some reason I seem to be the argumentative one tonight.

Technically, heads are the whole thing that goes on top of the battery. Look at a post that mentions heads, and hover over the word heads.

While it might not be accurate to call the replacement parts "coils", that is the common parlance, (or at least "coil heads") i.e.:
https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10004996/1394501-x10-protank-atomizer-coil-heads-10-pack

You just burst my bubble. :) Sometimes it's so difficult to figure out the right words when you are a relative newbie to all of this. Thanks for the clarification!

I hate all these Monday holidays that aren't really holidays unless you work at a bank or for the government. It always seems like they always fall on days when I would have gotten something if it wasn't a holiday!

That's why you should shop at fasttech. You wouldn't get it on Tuesday either.

JJ, I thought you had nailed that flavor? I was going to ask YOU for the recipe!

In general, I have found most stuff that tries to be "cream" to be "not creamy". I used to think MBV's "sweet cream" was disgusting, until someone (I think it was Karen) said "Yeah, tastes like butter". And she was right, as butter it's pretty good, but that's not what I think of when I hear "Sweet Cream".

Maybe you have to come at it from the outside? I got some flavors from MBV (FA) and the Vanilla Butternut is something I really liked.
I think it would go well with the peach, and with other fruit flavors (Not sure about some of the tart berries, like blackberry, but I bet it would go OK with strawberry). I will give some of this a try over the next couple of days; my first target is Hangsen Juicy Peach with the Vanilla Butternut (and maybe a little VG to balance, but only if I need to).

It just seems to me that flavorings that try to be "Cream" (sweet cream, whipped cream, bavarian cream, vanilla custard, etc) always disappoint.

(Now I'm going to have to try the VanBut with the Liqua Coffee, too!!!)

Honestly, my most creamy flavor has nothing to do with cream... raspberry brandy

Thank you! I keep calling them heads, reasoning that the head is the whole unit, and the coil is the wire and wick thing. Every time I go to the B&M, he insists on telling me that those Kanger things I keep buying are coils not heads. He gets really insistent about it, until he gets me thinking that I'm the one who is wrong. You have just vindicated me!

Course the guy at the B&M also tried to insist that protected lithium ions were safer to use in my Coolfire than IMRs too. I passed on that one, and am still waiting to use my Coolfire until I can get those red IMRs they recommend on here instead of his unlabeled generic blue lithium ions. They still don't seem to make hybrid 18350s, so it looks like IMRs are the only option.

OK, again I only say this to be 100% specific about exactly what parts are what and NOT to belittle or berate anyone.

Coils are the wire that actually does the work of vaporising the liquid as they heat up with the help of the battery. (See below image, note, the arrow points at the wire which actually forms the coil. Also, note that there is no wick of any kind... that is the difference.)

su5abu8u.jpg

The wick and coil assembly which is commonly referred to as a head or atomiser head is something slightly different. (See image below which points out both the wire for the coil - also extended past the pos/neg posts - and the wick itself.)

epu3uzug.jpg

The atomiser head assembly is what you are buying when you get a pack of kanger pro tank (or similar clearo head) is the wick, wire and pos/neg posts all in one easy to install unit. Just going with the first image, one of the posts would be positive and the other negative (not sure, not my Atty or image).

For more info on the total aspects of how the kanger head is designed and laid out check out how GrimmGreen rebuilds a kanger pro tank head on video. Useful even if you never rebuild to simply see how things are made.

Hope this helps and best of luck

Don't feel bad about the fruits and bakery. I am finding that I do not like bare fruits, anything candy/fruit, no mints/menthol and some bakery bases taste off to me, even if I love other offerings by that same vendor.

I tend to like light to mid flavor and sweetened tobaccos, flavored teas, especially black teas. The black teas seem to satisfy like a tobacco does for me. Love butterscotch/caramel and like but have not found a great coffee. I have done better with teas. Chocolate is pretty much a bust for me. I also am having difficulty with vanillas, which surprises me. I am just not loving them, some turn me off.

Bakery flavors I have to be careful of. Some are ok but some do not agree with me. No bad reaction but some symptoms with a couple. And some just taste like dirty socks to me. Same with the cheesecakes - all dirty socks or soap to my tastebuds. How different we all are.

I have a sensitivity/reaction to cinnamon and custard so there are a whole group of flavors I can not and do not vape. As long as I stay away from them, even a hint of cinnamon, I am having no problems. I do no seem to have a problem with reactions to any pg/vg mix. But high vg, over 50%, does leave me with a heaviness in my chest and does not agree with me.

I am thrilled to hear that you are finding flavors that you really like. It is so important. Do not be surprised if your favorites change in a few weeks or months. As your tastebuds heal and you go longer without smoking or keep reducing the smoking a lot of people's tastes change again. I bought a bottle of my favorite NLV Gold back around September and nothing could convince me that it was a different tobacco labeled wrong. Until I realized a couple of my other goto juices were not tasting the same either. My newest bottle tastes great. Go figure.

Well, I'm happy to report that during the down-time with all the canceled appointments etc during snow-ice-mageddon around here, I have made huge progress into vape liquid experimentation and true joy!

I finally realized, as I pawed through my drawers of stored-and-steeping juices, that I had quite a few that ought to be ready to vape. Sooo.... I have been vaping my happy head off for days and days! And finally made a little spreadsheet/table whereupon to note my ratings, woohoo!

I've found some new ones that I cannot live without -- (all are 50pg/50vg 12 nic) - or as close to that as I can get w/ the vendor

** Good Life - Deadly Sin (as others have so rightly pointed out!)
** NLV (Nite Lite Vapor) - Gold (total deliciousness)
** Vapor Chef - PB Nomnoms (peanut butter cookie - can chain vape it with no ill effects)
** ePipe Mods Pipe Sauce - Shire Malt - tobaccoey delicious
** Vapor Girl - Pink Moo (a strawberry/banana smoothie-ish flavor)

I still can't get much of a fave with the fruit flavors, nor the fruity dessert flavors -- I dunno what's wrong with me. I'm trying juices from various vendors along the lines of Blueberry Muffin, Strawberry Cheesecake etc. Just haven't found one I like yet.

And all the straight fruit flavors, like a Pomegranate or a Strawberry or a Kiwi, etc like that, again from a variety of vendors -- all leaving me flat even with extra sweetener or flavor shots.

I'm working on those, and will give a full report if I find anything!

p.s. total agreement re: MBV Vanilla Butternut -- it can make almost any flavor good. It's YUMMY!

I totally agree! The lingo doesn't always make sense. "drip tip" and "mod" are two of the worst; purely historical and mean nothing like they sound!

THE worst, though, IMHO is referring to cigarettes as "analogs".

butts, cigs, ciggs, cancer-sticks, stinkies, coffin-nails. Cool. Analogs? Doesn't work for me. Never going to call my mod's "Digitals" (whether they have a drip tip or not ;-)

Holidays--I don't know what those are anymore. I know that here in Canada, Monday is "Family Day", but I'm usually scheduled to work on those "holidays"--the only one I've had off this past year was Christmas Day, and that's only because the gas station I work at was closed that day. Sometimes, retail sucks.

Thanks everyone.... I'm soaking this stuff up like a sponge.. lol. Anywho the 175 was just what I spent TODAY...Gotta love income taxes. I probably already have well over 500-600 invested in what I've ordered and have on hand. There are a ton of local smoke shops that I've stopped into that mostly have garbage, but every once in a while I find something I wanna try. Zikwid in Glendale, and Xtreme Vapor also in Glendale are the only 2 actual vape shops that Ive been to. Xtreme is pricey...I had to have a Vision spinner...I read every review I could get my hands on and just had to have it...so I bought it, and paid 40 bucks for the dang thing. Too much, but I wanted it right then. And it's purple :D can't ever go wrong with purple. Im definately working on not being to hard on myself if I fall off the wagon. It seems to be working honestly.

If I stress the ones I do smoke it just makes me wanna smoke more. Since 10am I've had one cigarette, with 2-3 nasty cravings but I didnt' cave!! Im gonna try to do the same tomorrow. :)

Does anyone notice it's difficult to vape first thing in the morning? My throat is very dry and scratchy and I feel like my juice is too harsh. After that first cig Im good. What can I do to make it smoother in the morning?

I love your story. I'm still not off the analogs completely either, but I know I will be soon, as long as I keep vaping and trying. I get disappointed in myself too, but I'm trying to concentrate on how much better I feel already, and how much worse I will feel if I give in and have more than four or five analogs per day.

I love my Vision Spinners too!

Awww Thanks  I've noticed when I go outside to vape like I would to smoke(trying to replace all the old associations of smoking) I try to take my lighter with me...then I look down see it in my hand and feel silly...

Im my car I've gotten rid of my ashtray, and just in a few days I've already noticed it doesn't stink quite as bad, but still yucky. Bleh... My garage still smells like a bar :/ I can't imagine what everything will smell like in a few more days if I manage to keep up and not smoke...Im gonna be like a momma bear nesting and cleaning everything in sight just to get rid of the funk lol.

its been a while (ive already forgotten its been since i last smoked more than a few cigarettes when out with people only because my battery died, or i forgot my PV at home.. id never forget cigarettes) and i can smell things from far away. i dont have to listen for my child anymore. i can smell him across the house. his hair retains the slightly sweet smell of his shampoo, and i immediently know what he needs a diaper change. grr. i could go without smelling that one though.

I found at first by NOT inhaling the first few puffs but hold it in my mouth, then exhale through the nose got me past my need for nicotine sewer a few puffs. I also found a certain flavor first thing in the morning, menthol blend by Killer Juice, is what worked best to actually inhale. It is a smooth tobacco with a vanilla kick and very little throat hit.
As you cut back from tobacco smoke your mouth , throat, tongue are going to go through changes and once you give cigarettes up totally the changes will magnify for a few days but then subside quickly. Now I prefer creamier vapes at first but, just like when I smoked, I don't grab anything right out of bed. I stopped smoking first thing in the morning years ago, waiting at least half an hour after waking up. I do the same with my vaping.
As I've written before,I never intended to quit smoking, it just happened over time because I found the right recipe to make smoking less attractive to my taste buds and body than cigarettes. It wasn't intentional, it just happened over a couple of weeks of trying different flavors for certain times. Chocolate anything is still my favorite for driving and after meals.

I get a heaviness in my chest with high VG too. I was wondering why some juices made my chest almost feel like I had had a bunch of analogs and some didn't. Then I looked at my bottles. It's only the high vg ones that do that. I thought I must be nuts, because so many people love high VG. I'm glad to know it isn't only me.

Yeah, the drip tip thing kind of bothers me, because it is a mouthpiece. I think of a drip tip as being something you drip into.

Analogs is kind of strange as well, but I understand that one. Mods doesn't exactly fit the description of mods either.

I know what you mean about retail sucking. My son and DIL both manage stores in a mall. We love going out to see the grandchildren for Christmas, but don't get to see much of our son and DIL because that is their busiest time.

$40 really was too high for the Spinner, but at least you got something worth having for $40. I've paid more than that quite a few times on cigalikes before I found egos.

Most people find VG easier on the throat than PG. Maybe a higher VG caramel candy flavor? Caramel candy is my favorite, and it doesn't seem like it is harsh. It's also a really good tasting treat with my morning coffee.

Actually in the beginning the only things available were cig alikes (not even egos when I started) with short battery life (usually 90-180mah) and so people started modifying (mods) things with replaceable batteries like flashlights, battery boxes, etc into e-cigs. I even remember people using RCA connectors for 901's.
I used to have a 10 bay charger and had to carry 6-7 510's to work to last me through the day. I started making box mods with 14500 batteries and one battery lasted all day then.
I have no idea why the term carried over to commercially made stuff :?:
