I had posted this in the New Members section and was referred to ya'll over here, so I just cut and pasted to get my basic dilemma out of the way.

Hey Everybody,
I prefer to just lurk around in the shadows and find my answers on my own but I've been doing that and I'm still not getting what i want. I really need to quit smoking but I can't seem to get the throat hit I need to give up my cigarettes. I've cut down A LOT, but I want to stop. I read that nicotine and voltage and Ohms and PG/VG ratio all have something to do with throat it. I've gone from a 510 to an EGO to a 1600mAh Vision Spinner 2 set at 3.8V or 4.3V with a 2.4 Ohm coil in a 2.5 ml ProTank that I'm vaping juices that are made up with 24 nicotine and 75PG/25VG. I changed from 50/50 to 75/25 hoping to increase throat hit and all of those things did help but it's just not enough to get me to give up those nasty analogs. I recently found out that I have a health condition that really requires me to quit. Anyhow, any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm on a fixed income so I don't have a lot of money. However, I am expecting a small refund soon. I have an old dog that has health problems too that cost me money and I'd buy his meds before I'd by me food. He's a very good dog and I don't know what I would do without him.

Sincerely,
TxTigger
Welcome!

You have come to the right place. Sounds like you have put in a lot of effort. It took me 7 months, after I started vaping, to quit smoking. I became discouraged because I'd spent tons of money and ecigs hadn't magically made me stop smoking like it had for others, but everyone is different.

The support from the nice folks in this thread helped me. Finding the right juice/device for you is important, along with shear will power. Yesterday, was my 4 months quitversary! :D

Don't give up hope and keep up the good work! :thumb:

You can do it! :headbang:

I'm still hanging in there. I'm not smoking any more, but I'm not smoking any less either. I'm at about half a pack a day. I'm not going to gripe because I was at 2 packs a day not that long ago. I just can't seem to let go............she says as she draws a huge puff off the vape.
Just please focus on the ones you don't smoke!! The more you fret about that "last" cigarette the harder it feels...I slowly over a couple weeks and a BIG help from here on what equipment to get (LOL, disposable gas station things do NOT work...)...I still have a hidden pack - I just don't reach for it anymore - I bought that pack, and I got lights because I always hated them LOL!! The more you look at this as a HAVE to, the harder it was for me - look at all the ones you HAVEN'T smoked, and be proud of yourself - you seriously are on the right path!!!

I only tried vaping after I learned that my lungs were giving up....you have about the same equipment as me, and for me it works - I vape at 24 and still do - I might try that WTA though, LOL, for my rough days...you are like I am with my cats and dog...hmm, smoking around pets is bad for them??? Well, it is...maybe that will be the best motivator :D LOL!!
Hang in there, this place can help!! You are in the right direction :D

it seems its been forever since i was in here chatting last.

whats new... i bought a mutation x v2 clone. not sure how i like it compared to my tobh 2.5. the more airflow is nice, but i cant seem to get my coil to line up to the airholes AND wick properly at the same time. i can only pick one thing. i have been picking the wicking.

uhm, our temperatures hve been horrible recently. almost a week of -20 with windchill and no snow. then over the weekend it warmed up enough to snow.
this morning my kitchen pipes froze again. washing dishes in the tub again. (still cant figure out why kitchen freezes when its right above the central heater, but the bathroom which is farthest from the heater and on outer wall facing the wind with an old leay window never freezes. [toilet seat is always freezing!] )

my moms cousin (unsure what the correct term for her is, always called her my aunt at family reunions) passed away this morning. she was having migranes for the last few months and was putting off a visit to the doctors until she got into a car crash, a drunk driver t-boned the passenger side of her car, where she accepted a ride to the hospital to be checked for injuries (known bone fragility) and to also have her migranes checked. during her xrays they noticed a mass in her head, intestines, and breasts. more testing revealed breast cancer that spread throughout her body. they sent her to a specialist accross the country to have surgey to try to remove the lumps from her head and treat the rest of the cancers. once they started removing the main masses they found numerous smaller ones that did not appear on the xrays and were afraid to remove them all without causing more harm than benefit. she spent a week on a ventilator fighting it to breathe on her own (always was a stubborn woman! if she wanted to do something she would. never took no as an answer.) so they removed the ventilator not expecting her to last long. she hung on for 3 days waiting to hear the sound of her sisters one last time and passed this morning once everyone had said final goodbyes.

im not too torn up about it. im also a seemingly emotional person unless its related to my child. sorry to see her pass but she is able to spend time with her mom and older sisters again.

So, while it seems slow, I disappeared for... Not quite a year and a half? And I feel a need to at least throw a post in the current version of my ECF 'home'.

So, hey. Hi anyone who may have some clue who the heck this random person posting is, and still 'hi' to anyone who doesn't.

Also, Lox's Swedish Fish juice is still one of the best things I have ever had the pure joy of sticking in a tank ^.~

(flattery still gets me somewhere around here, right? :D)

Today *wouldhavebeen* my 1 yr smoke-free day... except for that damn appendix go-round in the summer. *sigh* Guess I'll have to wait till July. But my actual "vaperversary" was the last day of January; that was the anniversary of the day I got my eRoll, got some ejuice at Steam Cigs, and first tried a real vape -- I don't count those silly things I got at the drugstore.

Funny how time flies when you're having fun, ain't it.... :D

i am not as awesome as my dearest husband up there is. Hmph! Voodoo is doing awesome at not smoking, I am doing awesome at...Umm... Ordering stuff to be told it's out of stock and the website hates me. Yup. First had issues ordering my iStick, got it figured out, then Voodoo told me he wanted me to order 'something with external batteries' as a just in case.

As I very much like his sigelei mini, I neglected to remind him there are two vamos in the house if I need them and tried to order a blue mini. Got an email yesterday which I assumed was just my standard 'Hey, we've received your order and printed a shipping label!' notice, but was actually telling me the blue is out, they have black and 'champagne' if either of those appealed to me, or they could just refund my order. So, I just checked and replied with a 'please just refund the whole order, the RDA was just tossed on as I already had an order+shipping cost with ya'll'. We'll see the response soon, I suppose, and I'll get to go hunt for a colorful box again whenever its refunded :)

Yeah, I got nothin' useful or important to say, I just felt like typing somewhere

Hello Hello. It has been a great week thus far. Although the past couple of days have been pretty difficult with my brother and sister-in-law almost causing my father another heart attack, and HP 'customer care' being just oh so helpful, yes I know that sarcasm can not be read...:p...but still going strong. 1 week officially today without a cigarette. Sigelei mini 30W brand spanking new Kangertech Subtank Mini (wish I would have looked around a bit more and seen the vaporfi Volt. Same tank, but bright noxious green Orings. Beautiful for Pluid I think.) filled with cut down Pluid, (sorry Murdock, we didn't cut this with cutter...didn't think I'd need it honestly but this sub tank will head rush you quite effectively with 20mg nic. xD) is doing the job for me at the moment.

Also, quick shout out that probably will never be seen by the man, but thank you so much for making Agent Orange. I'm absolutely in love with it.

Hello everyone:toast:

Hi, JJ! Great to see you again!

I've been MIA here as well, somehow when the winter kicked in (and it has been a brutal one here!) this thread seemed to lose a lot of steam; hopefully it will pick up again when the universe turns liveable again!

How've you been? Are you still off the vaping as well?

Well, you're more than welcome to the mess we're getting tonight/tomorrow!

We're doing well, but had to deal with frozen pipes and a bit of ice dams (fortunately we've had less in the way of ice-dam problems than many, it's been a bad year for them!) Been busy with work, but it keeps the bills paid!

I've gotten a lot of mileage out of the flavorings you sent me, thanks again! (And shared some of them, too.) Finally got my daughter vaping; she was reluctant until she really tried to quit smoking and was fighting the cravings! (I can tell she won't be a long-term vaper; she'll be off them as soon as she's over the quitting hump).

Apart from that, it's been snow, snow, snow, and more snow. Oh, and a boatload of cold, too. Can't even leave the Budweiser outside, as it freezes solid faster than I can drink it (which is saying a lot!)
