Hotcig 50W SX Zero landed this morning. Had to troubleshoot some sleeve fitment issues but, other than that, so far, so good. It's been said numerous times but I'm surprised by how hefty this thing is. I suspect this will be a keeper.

And here it is with a Heron (not screwed down tight) as ocd has hit and I need to come up with some form of protection around the 510 so the finish doesn't get ruined.

That's the 30w version, correct? There are too man damn clones! lol... i cant find the elusive wooden backed 50w version... and screw those button-less ones... I wonder if we'll start seeing some of the other "C" or "O" type high-end box mods (metal outer "banding" wood or etc. sides/back) like the Wapari, Pippo, Sturmtrager, or Heresy (god i want one so bad).

Thus far, I am absolutely delighted with this mod. The 510 is spot on and thus far it is firing whatever I have thrown at it, even a somewhat temperamental Spheroid.
The Sleeve fits beautifully, battery changing is fine, the readings all appear to be right and I suppose I should also mention the Presentation Box which is also of good quality.

early days I know, but thus far, I am very pleasantly surprised and would have another in a heartbeat.

Anyone have an update on when FC will get their next batch? I missed their last batch and have been checking a couple times a day to no avail.

you can email Doris and send payment in advance to lock in a spot. Thats what I did with the last batch. She said they will be getting a new batch at the end of this week or early next week.

Is everyone having a hard time swapping their batteries out? Its such a tight fit. I need to get a piece of ribbon to put behind the batteries, but in the meantime wondering what others have been doing. Are you just charging the battery when its in the device?

I messed up a Sony vtc4. The Samsungs come out fine though. I'm usb charging now.

This is really just personal preference and i like to swap out batteries. Takes me all of 15 seconds to swap out a battery. Too each his own. 15 secs to swap or being stuck to a wire for 2 hours.

I tried a button top battery, it was just too tight to bother playing with. For me i will stay away from button top with this mod, flat top all the way. Also if your having problem get a good grip you can shave some of the wood to expose a little bit more battery. I would take a little bit from each side. i think your batteries are too tight myself but if it works..... If your not already using flat top that's would be something too consider.

I got got my SX-Zero in the last batch from FC. In a word I love it !! The cover was my big concern with this mod. It is prefect nope, but it's pretty darn close. If i payed 400 dollars and had waited 6 months or more would i send it back. I not really sure i would it's pretty darn close to prefect. All flush all around, The 510 thread are strong just a bit on the loose side but really as good as i have seem on a Mod. The spring loaded pin has a nice firm feel to it i estimate a 2-2.5mm pin travel could be a little more. I have a dozen or more topper from R2 V2 authentic to magma clone all but the magma fits flush. Looks like brass or brass coated hard to tell. Fire button is the best button to date it has a nice deep clicky sound too it. Feels like this will last years no rattle. Feels like a 180-200 GF button i like it.

This is my first YiHi chip set no buck chip. Sure looks and acts like what i have seen on all the SX300 reviews It's very easy to change the watts setting this is a simple chip to run. I like the single button. This being my first single button was not sure what i would think of it. Simple too learn and use. Ohms have been spot on .4 ohm coil measure .4ohms and so on up to 1.4 ohms is the highest ohms resistance coil i use. I like to change the battery on mine, i did check the charger just to make sure it works and it did. Green is go red is stop but as i have not used it i cant comment on how well it works or how long it takes too charge a drained battery.

I have 2-IPV mini so i already knew i like the forum, the weight feel great in the hands. Some will think its too heavy The 3mm SS frame adds a nice solid feel to the mod i don't think this one going to fall apart any time soon. If you have been on the fence don't for 85 buck shipped your going to love this Mod as much as i do. This thing Rocks i could not be happier. giving it a 9.5/10 its just not prefect but it's pretty darn close :).

I only own flat top batteries and even then, I am having a hard time swapping them out. MXJO batteries and VTC 4. I may purchase Samsung batteries based on roxynoodles reply

Try the mount screw on the bottom, the hex screw. It'll loosen the bottom to get the battery in and out easily. I've got one flat top battery I have to do that with, the rest are a snug fit but nothing too tight. The only ones I definitely have to do that with are the AW button tops.

For my newer SX Zero no, but my first one was also a tight fit. I found that it loosened up over time though, and I don't have to struggle anymore to get the battery out. I just wiggle it gently side to side and it comes out pretty quick now.

I also had the great luck to lose the battery set screw the first day

So in order to get the Mod to work I took 2-HE2 and removed the wrap from the bottom of the battery. so that the full Neg metal end of the battery was exposed. It's not much but another .5mm cant hurt if your still tight. just be careful you don't want to remove too much of the wrap and expose more of the battery than you need too. Thinking even after i get a few replacement set screw of not even using them and just stay with the exposed neg base as i have found then very easy to replace. I can see problems with the set screw down the road. Will take a battery that fits Snug. I have had good luck with both HE2 and Panasonic CGR18650Ch. the Panasonic is only a 10A battery and why i ended up going with the HE2.
