Ok people .. so in the wee hours of the morning Eachely skypes me with this ...

LegJtq2.jpg

At first I am excited because I thought they were telling me the Wood Zero was done, but when I looked closely it was errrr .. different. The above is a PMMA sample they have created. So of course I panic because I think they are telling me that they are no longer doing the Wood Zero, but they are. They are making the Wood and this PMMA SX Zero.

I asked why? They said it was because production would be slow and limited on the Wood SX, while they could churn out the PMMA wood looking body much faster, so they plan to offer and sell both. I also think this was knee jerk reaction to Yosen's SX in acrylic, kind of their answer to that, but that is my own speculation.

I can't speak for anyone else but I don't really want a PMMA SX Zero, most especially for the same price  But I told them I would share their photo and let them know what people thought of it ... Errr, your turn

I don't want a pmma or an acrylic zero. I still definitely want a real wood one, but if that doesn't happen I would only buy a sleeved version.

In my opinion what they are doing kind of defeats the whole purpose of the original zero. One of the coolest things, other that the form factor is changing the sleeves for a different look. With the original zero sx it's just beautiful because it's made of wood, and some people may prefer the sx chip over the dna. My best suggestion to hotcig would be work on their quality control, and work on getting the sleeved versions to look almost as good as the pmma version as far as the sleeve lining up with the frame. That would honestly be the best most profitable thing for them imo. They could sell all kinds of different sleeve designs and tons of people would buy them. They could do hydro dipping/graphics on the sleeves and have hundreds of different design options.

On another zero note, I think yosen made a huge mistake with their new offering without the changeable sleeve. I've only see a few pictures on here and on instagram, but to me it looks extremely cheap and ugly. They should have kept the original sleeved version, but ditched the chip for the sx chip, and a spring loaded 510.

Those are my thoughts. Cheers :)

Give me wood or give me death!

(thats what she said)

But seriously.... I actually prefer the fixed body with batter tube bottom... give me a nice walnut finish or even some exotic wood... with some stainless and i'm a happy camper. .... breaks i'll just throw a DNA 40 in it lol.

I completely agree, if they're using real wood. Otherwise I would prefer sleeved removable versions.

Sounds like you are talking about the DNA30 zero clone - in that case -> put into "lock mode" -> press UP,DOWN and FIRE buttons and hold for ~5 seconds

The instructions say to just hold the up and down buttons after putting it into lock mode, I'll try holding all three buttons when I get home, Thanks!

I received a new SX Zero from the latest batch that FC had, and sold out. It is the same as the one before although the sleeve fitment was improved in this one. The first sleeve I needed to press more to make it fit snuggly, this one was snug out of the box.

The new SX Zero is on the left, and the old one that I received over a month ago is on the right.

The wood grain is slightly lighter on the new one but I think that is just due to being cut from a different part of the wood. The sticker on the inner body has changed from Eachely to Hotcig, not sure why, but its inconsequential. My fire button is firmer on this one, and I like that.

The chip is exactly the same SX300C chip as before, right down to the battery level indicator reading .10+ over. The new SX is on the bottom, and the old one is on top.

For the record I did not pass anything on to the seller from this this forum. He read it here not pasted on by me.

"forcing the rest of us into this back and forth is rather inconsiderate of you. " How have I FORCED anyone to read my posts? How is any of this inconsiderate of me? It is on topic after all. Just because your agenda is to help FC sell more product, talking about "What is the point of announcing something to market if its going to take a year a day to get to the market?"

Remember when you shot me down when you were telling everyone how great the Kayfun V4 by RobbotTech? Turns out you were wrong, not worth the extra profit FC on that one.

Would it be safe to assume you are speaking for everyone, or is this just your opinion? There are others here that asked me to let them know what he said.

Inconsiderate, I don't think so. But who are you to judge me or anyone else?? You did not start this thread, Roxy did. Did Roxy appoint you as the JUDGE?

Well don't worry JUDGE Nikkita I will let you dictate your opinions in peace. I will not post any more where you are involved.

Judge the post not the poster:admin::grr:

The only thing that I "shot down" with regards to the Robbot Tech KF4 was your attempt to knowingly take excessive advantage of an obvious mistake that had been made when it was accidentally listed for $5. I never told anyone that Robbot Tech KF4 was great, in fact I have criticized it and have made known my disappointment in it. There is a published review which fully documents my sentiments about it.

And you are right, I do judge you. I have been judging you ever since you attempted to flip a $30 Dovpo GX 200 box mod for $119 in the forum classifieds, which was closed because profiteering is not allowed.

I have judged you for trying to use this forum discussion and debate over the legitimacy of that Ebay listing to try and Jedi mind trick that seller into selling you one at "half price" so you can "review it". :glare:

I have judged you as a person who exists in space where you are consistently looking for an angle and opportunity to profit at the expense of someone else, and I trust my sense of judgement about that.

I was the one who said the machining on the Robbottech k4 looked better than the other clone when they were first posted, Jeff, not Nikki. From what I've heard now that they are in peoples' hands is some are nice, and some are horrible. My opinion had been based on the photos posted. The actual QC has apparently been all over the map, unfortunately.

Also, I didn't start this thread :). I think Dravell did. Honestly, I was leary of more Zero clones because my Yosen is kind of nutty  However, now that its paired with a k4, its behaving perfectly. Its even showing correct resistance for the first time ever. I had a marriage ceremony for them yesterday

I did say that I "expected" Robbot to nail it based on their past machining skills, but I never, ever called it great though. And it is too bad that the result has been all over the map from people who loved it, to those who felt it wasn't worth the money. I was also disappointed that they let one with a janky JC get into my hands, but in a way it was good because I feel like manufacturers usually try to get their best pieces into a reviewers hands *cough* Yosen. But then the rest of consuming community gets something that is less than what I received ... so I was due for a slightly janky something. :D

Your Yosen Zero is like one of my V1's, there are like 2 or 3 atties that it behaves and functions with, and about 3 others that it won't even fire ... so I just don't use those

I have come across one weird thing with the SX. My Lemo won't work on it, reads the atty wrong. Then doesn't recognise it at all. Every other atty I've tried in it works great, Kayfun, Nauti, silo, Erl, Sat22, wand, etc. But the Lemo is a no go, strangest damned thing....

Meh, Lemo's are unique creatures when it comes to positive connections. Rarely, something similar will happen to the Lemo on my SX Mini.

It starts with really inconsistent resistance readings, then says check atty...what has happened, is this:

The Lemo and the SX both have slotted positive pins in their 510 connections. Occasionally, after several removals and reattachments, those two slots will grab each other and when that happens, the SX wins every time. The positive pin winds up being backed out of the Lemo just enough to jack up the conductivity. If you haven't removed the base of the Lemo from your mod, its impossible to see whats going on and it drove me nutz until I took it all apart... hope it's something simple/silly like this.

I had this issue last night my new KF 3.1 and Vapor Flask V2 clone .. put it on got an "E" error, at first I thought the VF might be defective, but no its just the KF's pin not making contact with the spring loaded pin .. bummer too.

So far the Yosen SX is performing nicely, only tried one atty with it, so this time I will remember to try my entire line up atties to make sure that it works with everything. As I said above, in spite of having an adjustable 510 there are a few atties that one of my V1 Zero's just will not fire with.

I am such a numbskull .. I received it yesterday meant to take some unboxing pics, but went straight into shooting my review photos  which I usually do not post. I don't know what I was thinking. But I will get some up for you all to see.

I also would like to hear about the VF clones. Always loved the style and am willing to change the chip if the rest is up to par. Whose clone did you get, Nikki?

Finally! I had actually lost all of my enthusiasm over them because this all took so long to come to pass. Nelson will remember that he had me on the Flask hunt back in September but they were all V1's that I didn't think was a good idea ... Then SXK does the first V2 clones and after the Yosen Zero I just didn't want it.

But then Cigabuy contacted me and offered one for review, which is different then me buying it, so I said yes. So the one I received is SXK and for the most part I like it a lot. I am in love with the finish of it, from the way that it looks, but most especially the tactile feel of it. It is so buttery smooth feeling in the hand, yet it is not slippery. Its also a lot smaller than I would have expected.

Finish is flaweless, no gaps or irregularities in the top plate, usb port is straight, 510 connection is totally on point. My ONE issue is that the battery slots are a little too tight. Once I put my Samsung's in it I could not get them back out. So its like a permanent battery install which I am not really happy about it. The good news is that the batteries I put in it are brand new, so they will last a long while ... but I am also forced into USB charging only.

Been vaping it for 24 hours now with my brand new sexy Russain 2.0 ( I love this Russian), and I can already tell that this is going to run for at least 2 or 3 days before I need to recharge. Right now I have 75-80% remaining on the battery indicator ...

This is the same chip that was in the V1 and V2 Yosen DNA Zero but ... I think they have tweaked this chip for the SXK Flask because there are still some differences. First the bad, the firing delay is longer than both the V1 and V2 version .. approx 4 seconds. The only way around it is to click the fire button 3x ... YES 3X, not 2x. As far as actual power delivery, this one feels better than both the V1 and V2 chip IMO ... not as punchy as the V1, but also not as flat as the V2, its in the middle of these for me. The chips reads resistance .1 below my SXmini and SX Zero.

It definitely puts out 30W, in fact it does slightly more. I did quickly meter it with my inline and with 1.7 at 30W/7.1v display, actual output was 7.34v on my inline meter. At 10W/4.1v display, actual output was 4.17v. And I am enjoying the vape ... the button are super clicky, all of them, and I would prefer a less pronounced click .. it is clicky clicky clicky. But the buttons are properly proportioned in size and assembly, and do not stick out like nipples as the Hao Sheng/Hawison V1 does.

The build quality of SXK's appears way superior to the Kangxin V2/V3 body IMO. Just finished better, and I can't say enough how much I love the finish on the SXK V2 ... but I am getting both the Kangxin 40W TP and the Waidea 40W Tp. The Kangxin is supposed to ship on Monday via DHL, so if it goes as scheduled I should have by the end of next week. The Waidea Times version I will not have until next month even as I ordered the sample back in November

I will try to post some pics of the SXK V2 Flask later tonight. :)
