Recieved my Yosen 50w today. Overall, I am pleased. It is slightly smaller than the hotcig SX 50, acrylic looks better in person vs. pictures, nice 510, responsive button and smooth vape.

My only issues is that there is no hidden screwdriver like the hotcig version, no removable sleeve option yet and you need to unscrew both the brass screw and larger lock on the bottom to insert/remove the battery. Will have to charge via usb vs. changing batteries.

Overall, I would recommend getting this version. Interesting tidbit, the box that it came in explicitly says chip by yihi right on the front of the box.

Can't wait for the wooden version.....lol

Congrats .. but you don't need to unscrew the brass battery contact to remove the cap, I never have. Just use a screwdriver on one side of the slot and unscrew it, no need to mess with the negative contact at all. :)

I asked about the Wood version yesterday, and it certainly will not be ready this week as I was told last week ... They said the bodies have completed production and next week the chips are going in, being tested, and then they will be ready to ship ... the wait continues :(

I can verify this! I asked Doris yesterday and she took my info down to let me know as soon as it comes in. I was excited because I needed some new stuff to play with as my order from FT is lost somewhere in the void :tumble:

She also mentioned that the US warehouse will remain open and still ship out order during CNY in case anyone was wondering. I might just pay to upgrade shipping next week so it'll arrive faster. Oh also, it will be one piece as the sleeves will not work with it. :glug:

Wow, I have been watching this thread for a while now and never realized that these dont have stepdown. Thats a deal breaker for me. :( Are there any zero clones that do?

I think the old yosen 30w zero clones have step down. however the chance of getting a good one with solid 510 threads is slim! alos that chip doen't fire right out of sleep and, that's an even worse thing than NO step down.... the mod I want is the yosen zero with the KX-40D TC clone chip :) well. providing the 510 threads where good ;)

Got in my sleeves for my hotcig 50w. You have to fiddle with them to make them fit and they aren't flush. Still has a little gap. Disappointing.

Try press fitting it. My black one is a better fit than the original, but I had to lay it on the counter and push on it with my palm to make it a nice, tight fit. Don't push too hard :). Its more a woman's touch

Trying to read up on and find more about bucking vs boosting, and not really understanding the differences fully. So my question is, would this make a good first box mod coming from a mech?

What do you want to run on it? Honestly, I never vape under 4v on a regulated mod so find this works well for, gulp, all 20 of my RBAs.

Boost means it can run higher than the battery voltage. So a fully charged battery iis 4.2v and that's the best you could ever get from a mech if it had no voltage drop. If you want to vape at 4.8v, you can on this mod.

Buck means a mod can regulate below the charge of the battery. On this mod, 4v is the lowest power it can give you. I'm not certain, but you might be able to get lower power than that if the battery is lower than 4v ?? Maybe someone else knows that answer. It does not have bypass or you could use it as a mech. The sx mini does, but I'm not sure why anyone would want to when a regulated vape is so consistant. I personally would just buy a nice mech, but I suppose having the chip's safety features even in bypass are not a bad idea.

Thinking of running a tank on this, possibly Delta II. I have a mech for my drippers, although I'd prolly try one out on here too.

So. What voltage does it run at when your battery drops before 4v and is approaching the nominal charge.

Yes .. if you are used to using raw battery power on a mech, this would be an improvement for you. Based on your prior experience and what you are used to, step down doesn't really apply to how you currently vape, so you will not miss anything. And you will have the advantage of boosting voltage up to 8.4v if you choose.

Yes Rox, without step down the chip can only go as low as the actual battery voltage at the moment. :) Step down is only advantage for people who like to vape below 4v. I like a chip with step down, but I would never NOT get a certain device just because it doesn't. I have both chips with buck/boost and chips without it, and I am happy with all of them.

I don't feel like I am loosing anything with the two SX300 chip devices I have. If I want to step down, I have about six other APV's that can do this.

Its a regulated device, so it will run at whatever voltage you set it to between 4-8.4v .. it just will not go beneath the actual battery voltage. It will run at up to 8.4v until you reach the battery cut off of which I believe is 3.2 volts or so.

Ok, thanks, Nikki. So apparently once your battery is below 4v, you can vape lower.

I have single coil, dual coil, and one tri coil tank and can vape them all fine on this mod. Most of my drippers are bottom fed, but my Magma runs fine on it, too.

Yeah, I don't even think twice about it really when I am using either the SX Zero or the Yosen SX, using both with builds over 1.0 at the moment so no need for step down there. Step down is my friend when I want to vape sub ohm at 15-16W

We are still waiting on our Wood, and Hotcig sys that they should be able to ship out before the CNY shutdown, which I hope is true .. as of next Thursday its a wrap until the end of the month

How do we survive CNY every year, I don't know? .. I picked up my new premium juice habit right at the perfect time :p

This thread needs a Saturday porn pick me up!

Just got my authentic Five Pawns Edition KFL today, and I set it up with the Yosen SX and I am IN LOVE! These two are perfect together! Both small, and the vape is fantastic! Today is a good vape day indeed :D
