OK so I used the $20 non brand name dremel tool from Harbor Freight Tools with a diamond bit and within about two minutes successfully cut two slots in a Boge 3.0. I'm vaping KBV Gooey Better Cake right now and it works great. This was my first time using a saw in ages and if I can do it, anybody can. Just make sure you have something to hold the cart steady and don't cut too deep and you can't go wrong...

Yes, I am strongly considering grabbing one of the $20, non-dremel branded ones for this purpose. :)

FYI i started using the bloog MF style punched cartos in the liquinator. Seems to be having trouble keeping up wicking at high voltages. Dissapointing, but hard to judge fully as the xl carto is punched around the middle rather than the bottom! Since I have it in a 3ml tank its actually above the center of the tank. So hard to judge and very dissapointed in the way it was punched. :(

Need to start slotting/punching my own, obviously.

In the DC's I now only use a fine center punch and one hole. The Dremel cut ones all leaked both pre slotted and self slotted.
I still tamp down the filler with a straw if there are any leaks. Works for me.

RC

So is my theory right about the SC wicking fast? AND, Does anyone know if the material in the DC's are Different/Thinner then the Reg coil cartos? Still looking for answers... I also assume that a small hole works the best because of the wicking propertires of the DC filler...

Haven't had the chance to try the Boge yet.. I tried the tank again last night with some other juice.. ended up with juice in my mouth for the first time.. It's gotta be these DC's and the juice I am using. Having said that however, the first couple of DC's I used with the HG and Gourmet Vapor juice did not leak or even gurgle.. that's what is so strange.

I swear they have less fillier in them causeing them not to hold as much liquid... I am refering to the DC as aposed to the SC.

That's too bad, VPR, I was hoping it would have worked out better for you. Are they maybe pre-punched for a different tank, like on that has much thicker caps? I'm really curious if they end up performing better when properly punched/slotted for the Liquinator...

On a flip side, I've been using IKV 510 Gold V2 cartos since Saturday morning and this is looking very promising so far. It didn't start out too well. AFAIK, this carto uses either less filler or less dense filler so it wicks really fast, almost too fast. I slotted the first one and it filled up very quickly, even the filler on top of the carto was moist. But it started flooding a lot easily just shortly after. So I took out a second one and punched a decent size hole in it. I didn't prep it or prime it, just let it fill by itself for a few minutes doing an occasional cold-pull. This was much better but it still ended up flooding after about a couple of hours or so. So, I took out a third one and puched a very tiny hole in it. This one is working really well. It gets a little gurgle after about 6-8 hrs, more or less when I need to refill the tank. Since the tank is nearly empty at this time, it's been easy to blow it out. I just lay it horizontally, pull the carto out without any spillage and give it a quick blow through the battery end into a tissue, reinstall the carto while still in the horizontal position, turn it over and fill the tank. This is by far my favorite setup so far and I'm seeing the light for sure. The flavor difference between this carto and others is quite noticable. Even after almost two days it still tastes completely fresh. Very very nice!

Edit: FYI, the IKV 510 Gold V2 is rated at 2.5 ohm. It will run a little cool on a 3.7V MOD and way too hot on a 6V MOD. I would suggest giving it a try between 4.7 - 5.2 V.

I don't know, my hits are pretty dry from start to finish with the bloog so far, and when I turn up the voltage past 4.2 it burns. I think it might improve if the hole was lower but I haven't gotten a satisfying hit yet, really, even with a fresh carto.

What you are saying about the IKV makes sense from what I've read elsewhere. I think they are rebranded SLB cartos. The filler is supposed to be a completely different material that is super absorbent. It got good reviews EXCEPT that supposedly the good times lasted for only a few refills as the filler would apparently expand and squeeze the airhole closed.

Either way you are in better shape than me so far. I won't give up though, will try more bloogs in time but I will definitely follow your progress and maybe go for gold!

The first two cartos were perfect for me.. but since I've been getting the flooding problems, I've not used the liquinator at all for the last few days. Very disenchanted with it right now.. I feel like I am burning through money, both in terms of juice and pre-cut DC cartos, every time I pick the thing up.. and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Just trying to get back to that perfection when I first started to use it... hrrrmmm...

From what many have described, including you and Chief, it sounds like DCs have either less filler or a type that absorbs liquid at a more rapid rate than Boge cartos, very similar to what I'm experiencing with IKV Gold V2s. It really seems like punching a tiny hole might work better than cutting a slot as it will restrict the speed of the liquid flow. It's worth a shot at least...

So the consensus is DC suck in the liquinator... Ahhh, there i said it!

I don't know, it might be worth some tinkering... One thing that we know for sure, from current reports, is that DC with a slot seem to suck. But that was my first impression with the Gold V2 when I slotted it. I would like to find out if there are many people who drill or punch a small hole instead and what their experience is...
