I used atty's only, for the past 6-7 months but did use cartos before that. One atty can last me for weeks, however I do need to clean it out every single night because it gets gunked up with my delicious (but dark & sugary) juice. I'm out of town right now, in San Juan .. leaving on a 2 week cruise tomorrow. I brought tons of slotted cartos with me, but still I will get nervous that I'll run out and have to go back to using atty's. I brought 3 Liquinators and 2 J-tanks with me, although I did bring a bunch of atty's with me too, just "in case". But ever since getting the tanks I just dont love atty's anymore, so if I could clean out the cartos as they get gunked up would be a good thing.
Have a great trip stash!

I could care less cleaning carto's, they are to be used for a few days, toss and get a new one, buy them in bulk for what??? <$1...cheaper then a coke.........waist of time, happy vaping!

Agreed, but atties are so much more cost effective right? $7.00 divided by 30-90. Anyway its all about covenance... Are Tank+carto-messing about ALL the time=convenance.

I orderd a few liquinators for Hubby and I last night, and I just got an email that they have shipped! Wow, that's fast!

I have been using Boge cartos exclusively since I started vaping over 3 months ago. I think it's worth cleaning them, since I am a flavor junkie. I have used the boiling method described in Pbusardo's video, and it works beautifully. See it here.

The key here is to make sure you do enough cycles to get clear, clean water with no smell from juices. I did about 50 cartos this way. My cleaned cartos hit like new ones. I have only cleaned them once so far, but plan to try it as long as I can. I imagine that it would work just as well on the slotted cartos.

I also have something like the Cartomizerfillinator that I tried yesterday on about a dozen cartos. I used really hot, almost boiling water, and followed it up by syringing them back and forth with some vodka several times. My cartos are still drying, so time will tell if this method works as well.

I ordered some slotted cartos with my liquinators to get me started, but I plan to slot my own like in the video since I already own a Dremel .

I agree, I just toss a gunked up carto. However I'm on a trip, without my Dremel, so I might try cleaning a few gunky cartos just in case I start to run out of my slotted ones .. gawd forbid if I have to go back to using atty's on this trip, I only use my tanks anymore .. luv em!

I've read somewhere on the forum that the Smoktek Cartomizer cleaning kit doesn't work, but that is NOT my findings. I clean 1carto last week, just loaded it up today and it is as fresh as if it were brand new. The carto (cleaned last week) had lasted me 10 days the first time around. I'll report back how long it makes it this time around.

This is the carto kit that I got from Smoktek: Carto/Atty Cleaner Kit - Control Syringe, Luer-lock,10ml - Cartomizer Cleaner / Filler w/cleaning tube

It takes about 2 minutes to clean 1 carto, faster once you get used to doing it.

OK, what am I doing wrong as I started checking my filling material and noticed the cloth or material around the coil leaves burn marks and this is consistent on 3 I've checked, one after a week of use, one after 2 days and even one after about 8 hours. I am a moderate vaper about 2 hits every 20 minutes. I haven't got any burnt taste, it wicks and good flavor. PG Dekang juice on 3.0 ohm Boge at about 4.7 volts. The reason I started vaping was to stop Smoking.

Also each time the filler and material was soaked with juice? I started punching cartos but one of the 3 I checked was the slit type.

Thanks for any help as I really don't want to have to start over.

I get slight burn marks on the cloth surrounding the coil on every carto. I've tried every method, including completely filling the carto prior to using it in a tank. It is what it is! The actual amount of burning is very small so I chose to ignore it. If someone else can show pictures (evidence) that they aren't burning the cloth, I'm all ears as to how they accomplish it!

Mine all do the same thing. I think its just the way the Boge cartos work. Sometimes I take the carto tank combo off the PV and blow into it over a paper towel and black burnt looking juice comes out the bottom. Then I just go back to vapeing with no burnt taste. I only get the burnt taste when I loose the draw.

get the horizontal coil carto's make the hole on the level of the poly and no burning.........
While I'm sure they work better in a tank, the horizontal coils I've used, SLB's, never worked well. Which ones are you using? I look forward to looking at the pictures of your used dissected horizontal coil Carto.

Hi Fellow Vapers
Well I needed to change the CE2in my SS LQ today. While looking for a new CE2 to slot I found an old 2.5 ohm Mega carto that I never used. So I tried the punch methood and guess what. It has been working like a champ all day. I have refilled it once with only 3 mils in a 5 mil tank but no flooding and it wicks great. I'm not sure if the older carto is better or if the punch hole is the way to go.I think I'll try to find some 2.5 ohm, new ones and try a few with punched holes. This is how I like it to work. The real test will come later to night when I fully fill it. Stay tuned. I been running it at 4.4 volts and the flavor is just great and tons of vapor. I don't even know who made the carto but I got it from Madvapes.
