You should be able to use it on any device that does Ti TC.

I exclusively run SS430 on all my stuff, two mechanicals, a cloupor mini plus (Ti mode @ 230-250F), and an Apollo Reliant (adjustable TCR set to 14 @ 420-450F).

I like it.
Quite correct, I've been using the SS430 and SS Crown coils on an IPV4S. Thanks to the Ti mode and scaling back the temp roughly a 100°F it was able to use them. Like the days of DNA40s and Ti wire. Just that of course it's inaccurate and unable to use temperature protection in any way. But it does help from inhaling hellfire at first lol.

So I received my 34 gauge Kanthal today, still waiting for the Nife70 (Z's NiFe30) to show up to make some claptons from it. As usual after I order I have a different idea. I'm pretty sure what I really should have ordered was 28 gauge temp wire and 36 gauge Kanthal. I could always twist or parallel the 28. I want them pretty small OD for "normal" tank use. But then again I like working with wire that I can see.
Practicing: 28 gauge Ni x2 with 34 gauge Kanthal.

I had lots of problems with breaking the Ni200

So experimenting with double twisted wire continues. The 316L went so well, I tried 317L for the dual coil in the Aromamizer.

Did not come out as nice. I must have over twisted, because even though I was using thinner wire, 30 ga instead of 28, it come out super springy and hard to wrap. Wrapping in a 3mm, it sprang all the way out to 5mm!

I fussed with it until I got it down to manageable diameters, but it was an ugly ugly build for sure.

Dry burned, wicked and juiced and it vaped well, but heated the vapor more than I like. There were lots of juicy clouds, but very warm.

Overall, the 316L double twisted worked fantastic, so I'm chalking it up to building error on the 317L. Was a bit more work though, so I think I'll stick with standard twisted in the future instead of trying to work out the kinks... literally as well as figuratively.

Stainless steel 316L/317L contains lead. Not a concern?
I also noticed that there is a 316Ti grade which contains Titanium for higher heat resistance.

I am just dipping my toe into temp control, and researching wire options. I just received my Vapor Flask "lite". I am leaning toward SS since I vape NETS and need to dry burn often.

Try torching the wire while still on the mandrel.

I hold SS430 tight on the mandrel with pliers and torch it, stays exactly the same after that.

Yes, the torching would usually help, but even when hot from pulsing, double twisting put some major spring into this wire. I think I basically twisted it so tight that whenever it's bent it was trying to overlap itself with no "play" or slack to give way.

Regular twisted or even straight wire of this type is nowhere near as springy.

Once again, user error.

I'm not posh enough to own a dna200

Have tried mine with good success in TP Mode on

SXK VaporFlask 60w

SXK VaporShark 60w

Evic VTC Mini

SX Mini M Class

& also

RX200 in wattage mode

Mechs too with a strange sort of vape that hits quite hard then mellows out as the resistance rises

All in all I quite like it but its only a holiday stop gap for me, back to Ti for my daily work builds

Why back to Ti? What is it you like better about it than 430? I'm mostly back to Ni200 but looking for a more durable wire that I can dry burn and clean. Haven't really cared for the SS316 or Ti in the vape but building with them was much better so I'm kind of on the search.

When I first read this I was like Whhaaaaaaaaatttt....o_O I misread "wire" as wife.
I always poke my wire in the mains socket to get that even glow prior to wrapping

I just have not had enough time to play yet @Vlad1

So far it seems really good but need something I already know for my work mods

Just jumping back on the Ti as I have no chance of making coils in the field as I work mobile

Did not even get time to sort my builds so this week its

Dual SS316 in the Billow v2 Nano

& a lazy boy coil [pre built ] in the Goliath v2

This weekend though think will ge 4 STM built & go for 2 of each Ti/SS430

.............................

Oh & on that other note I wish I could poke the wife into the mains now and again :D

I have a VTC Mini on the way to get my feet wet with TCR.

Going to use SS430 wire in 28AWG with Orchid v5's and a Goblin Mini.

If all goes as well as I suspect it will, I might get another TCR capable device down the road as they keep emerging.

Just did not feel like spending a whole lot at this time as new one seems to come out fast.

Check out 430ss at unkamen supplies if you're set on SS. Tcr and res is close to Ti and you can dryburn it at cherry red temps. Wouldn't go to yellow temps though because it can get brittle. Good luck.

Never have I been able to apply this much power to my K Subtank as with this clapton made with single core 26 gauge NiFe52 and 34 gauge Kanthal.
1426478_1129535290404027_6963718395955064945_n.jpg

But I backed it off some and am running it here:

Hey DW, you can set your "time scale" in "graph options" to 6 sec so your dm graphs show better resolution eg a 3 sec vape would take up half your screen.

Looks great with the Serpent. Kinda sorry that I ordered the black version of those (the Serpent). Oh well, most of my other regulated mods are black. I really needed to get the ss Cuboid to have something to match ss atties.

The tank is actually the joyetech cubis. It came with ss316 coils and a factory clapton! Whaaaat?!! Won them both.
The cubis tank is new and very innovative. The air flows from openings on the top and travels down and then above the top of the coil but does not go through the coil or around it. Weird but it does work fairly well. Flavor is good.
