Lol, I took a dose of pompous today, in suppository form, evidently. :)

ISC is US CUSTOMS, it is NOT the USPS. There's three of them for airborne shipments (LA, Chicago, NY) and they're technically a "port of entry".

They get it first, it goes through an inspection and clearance process (usually automatic, but sometimes they open packages), then they pass it on to the Postal Service. The delay is simply how long it takes them to get to your package. The thousands upon thousands of parcels that arrive in the US daily have to work their way through one of these three centers, and it just takes time.
95% of my Fasttech shipments pass through San Francisco ISC, so maybe they are sending it by boat....LOL

Right. I am 5 wraps on 2.4 mm == 0.36.
Ok, so resistance is quite similar to Titanium, I'd say (assuming you're using Unkamen's 28 gauge wire).

Have we looked at the tech sheet for Unkamen SS430? Are we sure it's not the 430F variant, containing Sulfur to increase workability of the material?

I don't think so, 430F wouldn't be springy.
Yeah, that what I thought by reading TheBloke's comments on it. But on Unkamen's website it specifically says "It has a low spring back."... in any case, damn... I'm in Europe, I need a European supplier... I don't want to wait ages for it (or spend a fortune in shipping).

Actually 430F does contain sulphur and reading further into it, 430 contains 0.5 or less nickel and 430F contains no nickel.

I think it could be 430F but I have my doubts.

Excerpt from Stainless Steel - Grade 430 (UNS S43000)
All ferritic grades, such as stainless steel grade 430, have excellent stress corrosion cracking resistance. Grade 430 has good corrosion resistance to numerous substances, such as certain organic acids and nitric acid. The corrosion resistance is maximized in well-polished or buffed condition. Its pitting and crevice corrosion resistance is quite similar to that of grade 304. 430F is a high-sulfur free machining grade, and therefore the resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion is comparatively lesser than those grades that are non-free machining.

The other problem I have had from Germany is they put the address on differently then we do and the machine can't read it. 1 package took a month to get and went back and forth accross the US twice till it finally got to a small PO in Connecticut and my local Postmaster was able to get them on the phone and have it addressed properly. There really wasn't any problem with the way the put it but the street I live on is a Court Ct. so they tried to send it to Conn. Then they tried to use my house number as the zip code. No one could take the time to look at it and it gave the machine a brain fart.

All mine come through NY. I think everything gets put on an airplane except maybe if you choose free shipping. I think it just depends where you live. I've been getting all my stuff in under two weeks lately. Usually about 7-10 days with a good chunk of that in USPS hands post customs.

I was only joking about the boat, I think you're right about it getting tied up in our customs.

Question for you engineering types: I've been playing around in steamengine comparing 26g Nife52 to 24g Ti. The 26g NiFe52 build has 50% higher heat flux than a 24g Ti build with identical build geometry. Will I be able to run the 26g at 50% lower power and get the same vapor output as the 24g or will the loss of wire-to-wick surface area force me to run the 26g at the same power anyway? Below are the SE links to both coils.
