How can it be done on the evic vt? I tried and it kept jumping into power mode as soon as I hit the fire button.

Start at the lowest temp setting and try again? Technically it should work with 316ss .25 ohm. If you had your temp above 350°f the coil res probably exceeded the 1 ohm max of the evic.

Didn't work. Set it to Ti, 200°f @ 30w with the 0.25 ss coil. Jumps right to power mode when I hit the fire button.

Don't recall whether someone has asked, or, answered?

Did you dry burn the SS?

Based on (limited [emoji41]) experience: It ain't a SS coil until it's been dry-burned.

Case in point: On Sunday I wrapped a BEAUTIFUL SS 316L contact coil on a GEM. It fit the narrow GEM groove perfectly, measured (ohms) well within vape-able range. Went to dry-burn...instant hot leg snapped the coil because too tight/compressed. Ripped that coil out, replacing with an SS 430 spaced coil that I am still vaping (Thursday).

What was most interesting was pulsing the spaced 430 coil (obviously w/o wick) watching the hot leg (really the entire coil) glow to vaping range.

Stock coil so it I can't dry burn it.

Strange. I think was @AlaskaVaper that was having probs with the same atty and coils? Maybe he'll chime in soon.
I'm using a SX Mini and an ipv d2 right now. Mainly the d2 since it's a little under powered. I was wanting to use the evic vt for the battery life since I have to run higher watts/joules for the coil.

Oh cool, you have a D2 and an Evic. Question, are they equally underpowered in Ti mode in your opinion?

I ordered from Unkamen.

Okay just got home and the SS430 was waiting on me.

Wrapped an ugly spaced 7/6 around a 2.4mm mandrel (I believe 2.4mm, too tired to dig out 3mm currently) which ohm'd out to 0.71. Set the Reliant to 420F/30W, TCR to 13 and she vapes like a champ.

Atomic RDA wicked with rayon and it vaped the wick white before hitting temperature protection.

I'm happy with it thus far. Performance is great.

Happy with the resistivity of the wire also.

@cigatron
I had a long day, I will test the wire at TCR 40 and the discussed temperature and let you know. I must wind down first.

Since I posted about my Kanger Subtank here I'll add some more. This may not really be of much use for most as most of you probably have a mini or plus. Well mine is the first 25 mm one and I modified the RBA's juice channels and got great results. This RBA requires the shinny chimney tube so the air was a bit reduced compared to the mini or plus. So I bought me a mini RBS v2 which arrived today. Had to make the sliding 510 post about 1.25 mm longer and shorten the OCC chimney pipe about 3 mm shorter. Also had to add a thicker o-ring to the bottom of the new RBA where it seals against the base. Success. And of coarse TI contact coil. EScibe liked it too.
I just my have sidelined my GS2's with this.

Because I know NOTHING about SS or even making coils, What gauge wire would be the most suitable (If even Possible) for a coil in the 1.2-1.8ohm range?

Thanks

Eric
From what I have seen a lot of the tc mods don't do tc for coils over 1ohm so it may not work for you.
