Now that I have Ti wire, I want to make sure I'm getting this straight...

IF I set my DNA40 at 329, the actual temp of the coil should be in the 414 range. Is this correct?
As Tony said, yes. Because Ti has lower resistance change/given temp change than Ni you allways have to set your Ni calibrated temperature limit lower to get the actual (and lower than Ni) resistance change you need.
In other word: the resistance change of Ni between 70-329F is roughly equal to the resistance change of Ti between 70-414F.

It pretty cool that you can use your dna40 to temp control a Ti build while in Ni mode ; that isn't possible with a Snow Wolf, it absolutely freaked out when I tried that. Temp fluctuated wildly between cool and hot.

Yeah, it wasn't exactly what I'd call a "smooth operator" with nickel either. Variations in temp were noticeable. Maybe the processing is a little slow. When using the Ti coil in Ni mode it seemed like it would take too long to see a res drop in the coil when reducing power after hitting tp, then it was slow to react and ramp the temp back up. I suspect this has to do with the larger tcr of Ni wire. In Ni mode with a Ni build it worked ok but was still a bit slow to react for my taste. This dog won't hunt; it's to busy chasing its own tail. I bought the Wolf and within 4 hours I gave it to my Gson.

The Evic VT60 is fast to react in both Ti and Ni modes with the proper build. Most of the time it's very hard to detect any fluctuations in temp while it's bouncing off tp. The temp numbers do seem off though, especially in Ti mode but then again....it's only $55.:)

Have any of you tested the Evic VT60 in Ti mode for temp accuracy? I've heard it's "off" but haven't heard how much. For me it's just a number and irrelevant to my vape but I'm still curious.

Yeah the evic vt in ti mode is pretty far off.. Even at 600, I personally am missing some of the punch I'm used to from kanthal high voltage vaping. I like it pretty hot with heat flux in the 400s, reaching close to 500 sometimes.

I have now changed to ni mode on the vt and 230 - 250c gives me the punch I need with rayon.. While it can lead to a slight dry hit of burning juice at 250c in ni mode if things run a muck.

I think 230°c with ti in ni mode on the vt with Rayon is the ceiling for me, with protection from partial dry hits when juice runs dry.. But I don't try to dry burn it either.

Well, sorry for my English :)

Dna 40 doesn't have a Ti mode so the only way to run a Ti coil is to set a lower temperature. I liked 185C (set on screen)

A few days ago, Tom measured a dna 40 with a ti coil at 185C and the coil was in fact at 240C (232 was a mistake, sorry)

Here the equivalence chart of Ti for a dna 40

It's probably just availability in Europe. It sounds like it's basically the same thing. Still have to convince myself to order the resitherm wire.

And I think you can just contact Kanthal and order a sample. Oh btw I just noticed that Kanthal is based in sweden. How ironic so it can't well be the availability lol.

BTW does the fasttech / infinite flask have the kangxin chip? Those should say "Hello / KX something" on waking. I have a 40 watt kangxin vaporflask.

the infinite flas has an sxk chip which has the 'nickel purity setting' that allows some adjustment for wires with different TCRs!

Haa anyone prepared a listing of devices and chips that incorporate the "nickel purity" or TCF function. I would be very interested in learning this in order to select my next device. I now have 2 Evic TC units that are working well but would like a bit more flexibility and power. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Don't feel bad Tony I had to look it up also. I mean a movie from the eighties - I don't even remember what I did last week.
