when the order is 3 lbs or more, it's cheaper to send UPS. Otherwise, it's cheaper to send USPS. And, while USPS tracking sucks, for cross country service they are normally the fastest.

That being said, I (as well as probably others) have been considering giving our customers more choices regarding services, for we realize that they quality of service varies greatly in various regions (even when by the same company - Ie: Fedex refused to deliver a package to me in Wisconsin because the driver was too lazy to drive to the address - I had to call the Fedex CEO at home, on a weekend, in order to get my parcel delivered). A contracted Fedex ground driver here (oklahoma) lost several parcels (including 3 of mine) on the side of the road because of not latching the back door,

I think it's 6 in 1 half a dozen the other. I placed an order on Thursday shipped through USPS and it's still not here but I also waited 14 days for UPS to get a package to me here in Florida From Pennsylvania. It's not the suppler dropping the ball, once they have shipped it they are no longer in control.

Ive had way more problems with UPS than with USPS.
USPS will put packages that are small enough (most e-cig orders are) in my locking mailbox and if its not will actually come and knock on my door.
UPS will drop it on my doorstep where it can, and has, been stolen. They wont even knock.
USPS will deliver on Saturdays.
UPS wont.
USPS will make sure they get a signature if it requires one.
UPS alot of the times wont. Again they just drop it and leave.
If Im not there to sign I can go down to the Post Office to get it.
With UPS I have to wait till they redeliver. If I miss them 3 times they send the package back to the seller.

Ill take USPS any day over UPS

FedEx is ok. DHL is about as bad as UPS, but I have only got 2 things through them.

USPS Priority Mail has been super fast for us. We are in the Twin Cities, so shipping from any major city to another is almost always 2 days. 3 days to more rural areas. UPS ground normally is 4 days for us.

Even with heavy items, you can use their flat rate boxes (so long as they fit inside), and ship 20-30 lbs worth of items for around 12 dollars USPS Priority Mail.

while we're on the subject, and worth mentioning - Fedex Ground and Fedex Overnight are two different companies, for all intents and purposes. Fedex Ground parcels are transported and delivered by contractors (who usually hire subcontractors). Fedex Overnight are Fedex employees.

Also worth mentioning - fedex ground delivers to residences tuesday through saturday and businesses monday through friday. Dunno about Fedex Express.

And, on the subject of UPS - I was driving by the UPS facility in Stillwater, Oklahoma one day (a college town) and saw the people (college age kids) unloading the trucks and playing dodgeball with the parcels.

My biggest problem, and I think many others, is the USPS "tracking" which is a joke. I particularly dislike their little notice that "the shipper has notified us electronically of their intent to ship" or words to that affect. It actually means nothing to the customer and just seems to offer shippers a "delay window". Numerous emails and calls to the USPS receives the useless response that they're interested in all comments, blah, blah, blah. I would prefer they not have tracking rather than try to have tracking.

You must be living in a van down by the river, sorry dude.

Most of us have been amazed when we started this vaping gig because all suppliers seem to get us our orders in astoundingly fast time, and they all use USPS. Everything I order outside of the vaping world uses UPS ('hey let's ring the doorbell and run back to the truck before anyone catches us!") or FedEx ("I bet I can toss it up to the door from way over here") and they both suck.

USPS tracking blows, but who cares... I order today and 2 days later my order usually arrives from 99% of our vendors anyways.

I am not a supplier but at my office I handle all shipping and receiving. USPS is the cheapest and fastest with priority mail. Their flat rate service is great all you do is pack it and drop it off or schedule a pickup. UPS has the best tracking in my opinion but the can be more expensive and you need to wait for your drive to show up to pick up your package or pay to schedule a pick up with them. If you don't have a UPS store or office depot near you those are your only options. Fed Ex is comparable but I have found them to be unreliable when delivery times. One last thing with USPS, at least we are doing our part to help out a struggling company:D.

So far, I haven't had any complaints with USPS. They get the package to me in the timeline they said they would.

FedEx goes above and beyond where I live. I've had a FedEx driver come to my house at 8pm in their own personal vehicle because their truck broke down earlier in the day.

UPD sucks so bad... I've had them call my packages (multiple times) a "failed delivery attempt" when they never even came to my house, then had the nerve to tell my wife on the phone that they showed up but nobody was home to sign for the package... when she had been at home waiting for them all day. What can brown do for me? They can kiss my... you get my meaning.

My husband has an internet business for 7 years and has shipped over 2000 packages worldwide and uses USPS. There was only l package that did not show up in a timely fashion. My local post office put a trace on its and it showed up within 10 days.

UPS just drops it at your door without a signature. I have overlooked their packages until days later. If I'm not home they don't leave a notice at all just drop it off anyway.

Fedex is much better than UPS.

I MUCH prefer USPS Priority over UPS and Fedex. USPS delivers on Saturdays for the same price, while UPS and Fedex charge you an arm and a leg for Saturday delivery. I've never had a UPS or Fedex package arrive here in 2 days unless I paid for 2-day shipping. USPS gets it to me in 2 days for no extra charge. There have been numerous "failed delivery attempt" incidents with UPS while I've been practically hanging out my window waiting for them. They don't ring the doorbell, or they don't bother showing up at all, and then they pretend I "wasn't home". Right.

I actively avoid as much as possible doing business with any company that uses only UPS or Fedex because I'm sick of all the delivery mishaps.

They deliver to every address in the country, six days a week, at reasonable rates. They are a non-profit company operating without taxpayer dollars (they do take out loans from the Treasury I think), and given the enormous burden of universal service, I'd say they do a good job. UPS leaves stuff at my door, my mailman always knocks. Good luck with your crusade.

i think this is a case of "everything is amazing , and nobody is happy" 10 years ago we had to order things over the phone... though a catalog , or mail a check to a company with an order form of what you wanted.. then wait 4-6 weeks for delivery.

who cares if you have to wait 4 whole days for an order to arrive? or if the tracking doesn't update instantly?

cheese and rice! patience people , i get that it's nicotine , and you want your fix , or your "new toy" asap , but seriously.
