UPS= ultimate pummeled packages. Brown beat the brown out of anything they touch.. My recent snus order was NOT notified that it was delivered and had to twist nipples to get it from my apartment manager without a notice. EFF UPS.
A small package that had been retaped at least 4 times and beat to hades.

All the fedex guys and gals I have ever delt with have been total awesome sauce but that is business not on a personal level. Effing indian call center or ......ed sock puppets to take your calls tho.

DHL will NEVER use them and in fact still three years later waiting on a call from the hub supervisor about one of his drivers almost running me down. I had been in a crosswalk and the mirror almost took my head off, blasted my coffee out of my hand. The driver never slowed down.

USPS. Delivery times form post office to mail box has been decent. Just they are changing deliver times every day and it gets frustrating. Over all in the last month have LOVED the postal lady since she has delivered all mine on the day they said would be here.

I've been shipping packages for large corporate businesses for over 25 years.

UPS - I have friends who work for them, but they suck. Coming back from lunch we saw a driver drop computer boxes from the truck to the ground at least six feet. Wouldn't matter, but two weeks earlier, we got a batch of non working computers...the cpu's had fallen out or cards had been unseated.

We also used to make money by insuring UPS packages, because of the huge amount of lost packages.

Personal shipping horror stories with them.

FedEx - lost 2 packages over about the same time frame. Packages arrived in pretty good condition. Never used FedEx Ground. FedEx tracking is excellent.

FedEx costs an arm an a leg.

USPS - one letter lost. Except for bills, which many people claimed never arrived. Unfortunately, my bills always arrive, every month, like clockwork.

Tracking sucks, I had a package marked as delivered, which wasn't at the house, so I complained in person at my local post office.

Now, everything is delivered to my house, even stuff requiring signature is dropped off in the mailbox.

This is a "your mileage may vary" issue.

Here's an international outsider view. As for UPS, well... in my neck of the woods they are known as the door tag people. For the first delivery attempt they don't even bother ringing the door bell, let alone knock. They seem to fill out their 'failed delivery attempt' stickers already in the depot before they leave for their tour and don't bother coming with the package to the door. They just rush out the van, sticker attached, out. Next one. Saves them time apparently for the big wigs like companies etc. I don't know. The best part is that they don't even have a pickup location for private receivers. And office hours and delivery end exactly Friday 6pm. They don't even answer the phone anymore until Monday morning 8am. To get a second delivery is an ordeal as they 'guarantee' delivery time only between 8am and 6pm weekdays. Great! Who the hell is at home at that time? After 3 failed attempts zap! back to sender!

And why do they bloody do that? Because they can...

I love my public postal service over here. Not always the quickest but at least I can always pick my stuff up on Saturday at the post office, 5 minutes walking distance. Also everything that comes from the US via USPS was never lost or damaged.

I have to say that FedEx over here are a glorious exception. At least they give you a time frame of 2 hours for the next delivery attempt. Not all bloody day!!
Rant over :D

UPS Sucks everyone can agree,I've had plenty of issues with them, USPS is dreadfully slow and like to sit on your package for 2 weeks. Fed Ex on the other hand I've never had an issue with.

Also I dunno about you guys but USPS always left my package on my front door without requiring my signature.

Well I've had an issue with Fedex but not the USPS, if I support your boycott will you support mine? If we all support each other's boycotts will any of us ever receive anything again? 8-o

All Suppliers supporting USPS you snooze you lose! USPS has been at a corpse pace since I can't remember! Why in the hell do you choose this service! "Well get on that" is not an ANSWER! We Demand PROPER Shipping Service Now!

We Demand?? Speak for yourself there bud, but not for the rest of us. You will find that you are in the minority here regarding your feelings on the USPS...

At the end of the day, the USPS seems to excel at *actually getting a package from A to B in once piece*...even if you don't get a "clicky-clicky web refresh" point by point view from their most balanced service as far as speed and accountability is concerned.

The USPS tracking system, once understood, and when used properly by shippers (using business class electronic shipping) is pretty good; you know when the postage was generated, when it actually entered the physical possession of the USPS, when it gets to a local hub for distribution, and when it was delivered.

If your package is NOT carrying that level of detail (even 2-3 day Priority can provide this) then the issue is the shipper not the USPS.

I've occasionally had mail for someone else in the neighborhood, I just call the PO, and the mailman's back in 10 minutes to fix it.
It's USPS all the way for me thanks!

I had a $600 item stolen by UPS, it was shipped out of California, made it's way to the North east, then disappeared.

I had another $400 item delivered to the wrong address, UPS tracking said it had been delivered..nada! ..I called them, they said sorry pal, it's been delivered, see ya. I drove around the neighborhood and found it on someones doorstep.

When vendors say they ship with UPS I tremble.

Well, looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

Get used to it. The same government that is responsible for the US Mail system will soon be in charge of your health care.

I mailed 7 packages USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation last week. All were delivered within 3 days, and the delivery confirmation thing worked great.

In case you haven't tried it, when you go online to their Track and Confirm page, you can click the box that says you want e-mail updates so you don't have to keep going on the site. Every time the item is scanned in at a new location, they send you an e-mail advising you. For the 70 cents we paid for each delivery confirmation, I think it's a bargain.

And, by the way, because of the huge losses the postal service endured the past year there's a possibility that Saturday service will be a thing of the past as of 2010. Not sure of the latest on that, but that's what they've proposed to cut some costs.

Why would I want to pay more for slower delivery?? I have been very happy with my USPS deliveries. They have been fast and are reasonably priced. UPS on the other hand, takes forever to deliver, leaves stuff on the doorstep to be stolen, can't be bothered to get a signature or ring the bell. Thanks, but I will be sticking with USPS!! I also happen to use their First Class option that runs even less and delivery time is the same as priority!!
