Having watched all five videos and read the early comments in this thread I'm seriously considering getting one of these.

A couple of quick questions for those of you that have the Drop already.

1) I see that the posts are really tall, and due to the design it's natural to have the coils above the posts, therefore you end up with coils that are very high up in the atty - anyone experiencing any spit back?

The high coil placement and the big 810 opening immediately made me think spit back could be an issue.

2) everyone seems to be saying the airflow is great, and most have reported closing off the top row (which is the only direct coil facing airflow). I've always believed direct coil facing airflow to be extremely important for side airflow attys - is not the case for the Drop?

1) I haven't had any spitback at all.

2) In my opinion the airflow comments have been a bit over rated. I've been running my Drop wide open and it's good.

I would definitely recommend the Drop.

I agree with Don, mine stays wide open. The coils being high aids flavor imo.
Spitback has not been an issue for me but is very build and wick dependent.
Highly recommend this one, and I am considering ordering another to have one for single and another for dual. (may wait on the blue since Brian posted a pic)

I've been using mine in a squonker and primarily in single coil mode. I haven't had any spit back, but as mentioned above, that can be very build dependent. In single coil mode I have the top row of AF closed off, mostly because I have the coil lower between the posts and don't need that extra airflow over the top. In dual coil, I like it wide open since my coils sit higher and benefit more from the added air flow. Either way I have it set up, I really like the airflow, it's just very smooth, quiet and hits the coil where I like it.

I ordered a Drop on my own and hope it will arrive sometime next week. The only concern I have right now from what I've seen on youtube reviews, why hasn't the airflow adjustment been inverted?

The coils sit pretty high in this RDA and I don't get it why one would close the holes from top to bottom. As I am an engineer and have some basic knowledge about flow and aerodynamics this airflow adjustment makes no sense to me.

Bottom airflow is only effective when it is directed to the coils (like the Kennedy) to cool them properly and to avoid turbulence. With the Drop RDA the air is undergoing the coils by not cooling them. Only the two top rows of the Drop RDA are hitting the coils properly and benefit from the so called "Coanda effect" (-> the behaviour of air when hitting an object). So why do I only have the possibility to close the holes from top to bottom?

I think this is the greatest drawback on this RDA.
Recently a youtuber from Norway did some very interesting testings on coil placement on RDAs. Maybe after watching this video you know why I have this concerns.

P.S.: I am neither related or affiliated with this person, I just found him on youtube and he has just proven my theory.

Completely understandable concern that I knew experienced users would be asking. During the DROP development I literally tried every airflow type and configuration to achieve A diverse range of airflow control while also maintaining class leading flavor. I watched that gentleman’s video and discussion and it logically makes sense. The DROP changes everything you think you know about airflow positioning and flavor enhancement. Open all 10 airflow holes and then try closing off the bottom 4 holes with A vape band. Then remove the band and open the bottom 6 as designed. You will immediately recognize why I stepped down the airflow and not up. It seems like I made A careless mistake but I did not. It is not perfect but I truly was A nut case trying to make an RDA that did not make compromises and would satisfy most vapers needs. I will try to take some pics of all the different airflow styles, heights, and differences I tested while creating the DROP.

Got my Drop in today. Threw a single fused Clapton (5/6 wrap, 3mm ID) in there and it's a damn nice vape. Have the airflow set with the top four holes closed and the bottom 6 open, 45W. Really liking the flavor and feel of the airflow. Just an initial impression but the hype seems justified. Kudos @Vap0rnomics

I really don't need anymore RDA's with 150+ in hand. But now days I only use 22/24/25/30mm RDA's, so was going to get two of them anyway to end up with a preferred all black one. IOW I already have way too many SS RDA's that I don't use. But I only ordered one (the black version), just to try out. Will have to dig one of my many unused mods out of mothballs for it as all my main gear is already dedicated mod/atty/joose combo's that are so perfect that I won't change any of them.

Ordered yesterday but with no tracking yet to give a clue when it will get here. By end of week at worst unless their CS is slow.
