Hmm. Well I did try a couple of single flavor mixes.

I was hoping REAL bad for my grape to work out. Unfortunately that turned out awful and was pretty much unvapeable. It had the weirdest smell on exhale.

I also tried a single flavor tiramisu at 2% (apparently it's super strong). That was ok.

I'm gonna spend the weekend trying out more single flavor mixes and incorporate some advice here.

Also quick note: the TFA sweetener I have is Sucralose. (However you spell that). I know it obviously changes the taste, but how about the smell?

I have used Sucralose in plenty of mixes and have not noticed any smell issues. I also use cotton candy (ethyl maltol (in PG)) to sweeten juices. Both are very good, imho. Grape is difficult as a single flavor. I've had very good luck with both sweet and sour added, and also, bubblegum added. Remember to sweeten. I'm referring to the grape juice flavor, not the grape candy, which is sweeter to start with. As a stand alone, add 2% strawberry to neutralize the chemical flavor that you can detect with this flavor.

The sweet and sour will produce Grape Star Burst. The Bubble Gum will produce Grape Bazooka Bubblegum. Add both and you will get Grape Bubbleburst, and all three are very good. Here's my Grape Bubbleburst recipe:

Grape Candy - 10%
Vanilla Swirl - 5%
Sweet Crèam - 4%
Bubblegum - 3%
Sweet and Tart - 3%
Strawberry - 2%

The strawberry stabilizes the grape and eliminates the chemical flavoring. This juice is quite good, my daughter's favorite. As I've mentioned, the way to stabilize the chemical taste in many flavors is to add creams/vanillas, and other fruits. In this case, the sweet cream and vanilla swirl add the cream/vanillas and vanilla swirl is the sweetest of the TFA vanillas. The strawberry de-chemicalizes the TFA grape flavoring, and sweet and tart adds a lot more than it detracts. You can easily turn this into either a starburst by dropping the bubblegum, or a Bazooka by dropping the sweet and tart. All three mixes are very good. I like them all together, myself. Good luck!

P.S. If you want neither starburst, nor bubblegum, just add the strawberry to the grape with sweetener, and you'll be fine, else use the grape candy with strawberry, it's already sweet. Good luck!

I use TFA grape juice flavor and like it. I mix it at 10% with 2% TFA sweetener and sometimes throw some sour into it.

Nope. I used a clear top coat nail polish to coat my syringes.

That red package contains the Deoxit gold pen. It's for boosting my mech's connectivity :)

I use a low tech approach and put clear packing tape on my syringes to preserve the markings on them.

GAH. I am an IDIOT.

I bought my tiny bottles of flavoring from bullcity and misread the label. Turned out the grape I got was from flavor west.

Apparently it's a super weak flavoring. I bumped it up to 25%, and added 2 drops of menthol, and BOOM. My FIRST awesome DIY!

Now I needa grape myself some TFA grape. All the FW flavors I've had so far are pretty poor.

Mixed this up in a whim yesterday and now making a larger batch.

Mint Julep
Kentucky Bourbon 10%
Horchata Smooth 7%
Creme De Menthe 5%
Koolada 0.5%-1%
EM 1%-2%

Actually pretty balanced, but will work on it a lil more. My initial thought was that a light cinnamon would make the 'jack daniels' into more of a 'makers mark' but really the trick is the cinnamon(horchata) is subtle on the exhale.

Sounds like the parts of a beautifully mentholated flavored juice. Keep us posted on the final please.

I recommend trying it now, and then in a few days so you can determine if there is substantial changes. In my experience, good juice is good immediately upon mixing and may improve a bit over a day or two. Good can become great, but "Not Good" never becomes great with any amount of steeping. Sometimes long term mixed juice oxidize and become a bit syrupy and do improve over time, but many professionals I've talked to all agree, good juice is good right off the bat. Two cents.

Another confirmation of what I suspected all along. And Bill, it's worth way more than two cents. I can't tell you all how much I would have saved if I'd gone with my gut (and now confirmed) and acted accordingly.

Has ANYONE had any experience with TFA Turkish? I finally found it in a percentage list at 2.5 or lower. My initial 5 ml was mixed at 5%. Whoo boy... Tasted like I'd stuck an entire stick of incense up my nose, down my throat... So, I already know it's strong. What does it taste like? Surely not burning incense...

Thanks!

Tim

99 drops PG or VG, 1 drop Turkish, then vape. Add a drop at a time until you find the sweet spot. If you can't find the vape you're looking for, think about what flavors you might like to add to make a good tobacco, i.e, vanilla, nut, sweetener, etc. Most tobacco flavors start out as fruits, which, when combined, makes many tobacco flavorings (Not NET's). Experiment a drop here and there until you find what you like. Making juice is seldom an instant gratification, but finding the right mixes is gratifying. Good luck!

Took your advice. Loaded up my kayfun with a fresh cotton wick and a 1.7 ohms coil. Running it at 5v the flavor is very good. Heavy pumpkin inhale with a creamy sweet exhale. Aftertaste is very close to what id expect after a bite of real pumpkin pie. The flavor is somewhat subtle but I woulnt call it weak. Very smooth and no coughing or real throat hit to speak of. Prelim findings are its a pretty succesful blend. In your experience are any of the flavors in that mix tank melters? I should have asked before but its in my clear plastic kayfun tank.

Well, if it hasn't melted it yet, you're probably ok. The only one I wasn't sure of was the pumpkin spice. I've used the others, and they're not tank killers. Good to hear that it's good right out of the mix. Once completely blended/bonded, which doesn't take all that long, sounds like a great recipe. Congrats!

Sounds like you are really liking the diy.
It's great to mix things how you want them. I sometimes alter juices I get too

Love the creativity! So fun to play around with the percentages too, to bring out the subtler, nuanced flavors. With creative ingredients like this you can make ten variations, all good, and all tasting uniquely different. Nice job!

Hi! I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a coffee vape. I have the TFA coffee, espresso, cappuccino, bav cream, vanilla custard, vanilla, sweetener, milk chocolate, Belgium waffle, caramel.

I've taken bill's advice which proved invaluable. I was doing a chocolate + cappuccino + vanilla custard mix and I disliked it very much. After mixing all the 3 individually and tasting them, I figured I really dislike the cappuccino itself.

So. Hoping to use either coffee or espresso. Heck, I also have tiramisu if that counts

Looking forward to suggestions!

Not too partial to coffee vapes myself, but I have a friend that swears by this Coffee Mocha:

Coffee - 9%
Chocolate - 4%
Sweetener - 3%
Bavarian Cream - 3%
Sweet Cream - 2%

I would think you could tweak this one to make something you like. I would probably add some vanilla here somewhere too, probably vanilla swirl. The "straight" coffee is horrible, but adding the creams, vanillas and sweeteners, brings a lot of goodness to so many recipes. You could substitute espresso for the coffee, milk chocolate/double chocolate, etc. into this recipe. if it's your "cup of tea," I bet there's a good recipe somewhere near here. Good luck!
