I read through many of these posts, but did not find anything about TFA 'Orange Cream' flavoring .... or maybe I just missed it in the 2,500+ posts

Does Orange Cream really taste like a real "Creamsicle" ?

What percentage would you mix it at ?

Thanks,

It does taste just like an Orange Dreamcycle, imho. Flavor to taste at 5 - 10%. As usual, single flavor blends are NOT as good as more complex mixes. I would add both more cream and sweetener, even orange for that matter, so why buy the TFA blend? Lol...I think a more flavorful mix can be made with base ingredients, as follows:

Cherry - 6%
Orange - 6%
Raspberry - 6%
Dulce de Leche - 2%
Cotton Candy - 5%

I think this is a better juice than the "stock" flavoring which seems "diluted." Of note in the above recipe, raspberry is a good flavor to mellow out chemical tastes. In small percentages (2%) it can make a great watermelon, or blueberry, and eliminate chemical tastes. It's one of those flavoring "tricks" you read about. The orange is more like an extract, so equal amounts with cherry and raspberry doesn't overcome the orange, as you might be wondering about. The cherry should be added after the orange and raspberry so you can mix to your taste. Together, they provide a wonderful fruity, clean, sweet flavoring. Adding creams and vanillas and sweeteners makes just about everything taste better, imho. So, lot's of ways to go here, and fun to mix and play with.

I like to mix by drops. With complex recipes you can start to get a good feel with all of these ingredients in less than 50 total drops, maybe a ml or two. Once the combination of ingredients is nailed, flavor to taste by adjusting individual percentages. I often start off with a target flavoring percentages, generally 20 - 30% and then adjust to keep the total percentages the same. In this way, you can narrow the flavoring choices to make good juice. Just a suggestion. I'm sure we all do it a bit differently, so just sharing mine. There certainly is no one way for sure. It's fun to play. Me likee.....Enjoy and good luck!

Bill ...

Thanks a bunch for the tips on this.

Earlier this morning I ordered the TFA Orange Cream, so it's too late to change the order now.

However, I do have some Cotton Candy and some Vanilla Bourbon already. I wonder if adding a little of each might help in making the Orange Cream just a little more realistic?

BTW ... I also have some Juicy Peach ... Maybe that might not go well with the Orange Cream?

Just looking for something that does taste a lot like a Dreamsicle.

Tried the capns crunch today

The Capns Crunch
5% berry crunch
5% sweet cream
1.5% vanilla bean gelato
1.5% marshmellow
1% strawberry
1% sweetner

Im digging the flavor profile. It taste like a bowl of crunch berries with milk. The flavor is a tad weak but its spot on. Ill see how it matures but I think ill use a higher % of flavor next time.

Well, it's a good place to start with the TFA orange cream, and I think it's spot on. Some sweetener/cotton candy probably will help. Does for me.

Love juicy peach! I make a cobbler and a Danish. Wonderful flavors.

So many different vanillas, and they're all just a little bit different from one another and so useful because of it. And Bavarian Cream seems to make everything taste good! You can add cotton candy and Bavarian Cream to many base flavors and make it really good. I use about 10 - 15% of those two all the time. Wonderful. Sounds like you're well on your way! Good luck!

Sounds great. Bet you would see better flavoring with 20 - 30% overall flavoring.

Agreed, next batch im upping the flavor. I can see this one being a hit with friends

Yeah, I really like cereal flavorings too. I have this flavor, but haven't made a juice yet, though I have worked out a starting recipe, and it's similar to yours (with more flavoring). I also make a pretty good Apple Jacks (people flip for this), and a very simple Fruit Loops. I have plans to add the Capn Crunch, a cocoa puffs, and perhaps a rice crispies. Since the death of my son 3 weeks ago, I haven't been in the Lab at all. Normally, I'll work on new flavors every week. He was only 26 and died of an accidental alcohol poisoning. Tragic. Sorry for the bad news here, but I know I have friends. I find these writings therapeutic. Kindest regards to all.

Bill, very sorry to hear about son ,and I dont think I can say anything else.

I also make an apple jacks using apple pie cinn suger cookie and cotton candy, with a drop of AP but cant quite get it right. Am I missing something you think?

This is my signature recipe for Dutch Apple Pie ala mode:

Apple - 12%
French Vanilla - 4%
Sweetener - 4%
Pie Crust - 4%
Graham Cracker - 3%
Brown Sugar - 2%
Butter - 1%
Cinnamon - .5%

Probably my best juice above. This one started a line of juices. Apparently, it's quite addictive, lol! My ADV is a cinnamon Danish, so who knew? This is also one of my more complex mixes, and my only mix above 30% flavoring (30.5%). Benefits from a couple of days of steeping, but it is surprising how nuanced all the flavors are. I was lucky on this one, I guess. Enjoy!

BTW, the TFA Apple Pie will NOT get you there, imho. Use the better bases and mix. Much better, imho.

This is my Apple Jacks:

Apple - 7%
Cinnamon Sugar Cookie - 7%
Cotton Candy - 3%
Belgian Waffle - 2%
Dulce de Leche - 1%

I'm going for that bottom of the bowl sweet Apple Jacks in milk flavoring with this one.

Thank you for the kinds words. Yeah, there's not really much one can say. I've never told anyone these recipes because they are exceptional, I think, or so I'm told. All I know is that I like them, and my family and friends love them. Best to all!

Meh! I'm short of a few items in both recipes.

I'm gonna try the first and replace French vanilla with just vanilla. No brown sugar or butter either. Hmm. Might just try it without.

OR I could just place yet another order......... Twiddle thumbs.

You can't go wrong with the base mixes. When you try and get a good vape from "their" complex mixes like an apple pie, it never gets there, or, at least, where I want it to go. But the brown sugars, the regular old apples, the butters, and creams and vanillas and sweeteners all combine so well to make these just wonderful flavorings. Part of my joy was learning this by experimentation, though prior to that, I was constantly frustrated for over six months. I promise you, nothing I made was any good! And single flavors were, at best, just okay. The versatility of single flavor bases, when mixed, is where I found the juices to be, and you can flavor to taste by making small percentage changes in the ingredients. For me, these were revelations and they take juices to new levels, and certainly as good as what you can buy on the market, and substantially better than most. I'm passionate about it and love the journey as much as the juice.

I say order the two or three you are missing. You won't regret it!

Also Bill while you're so patiently answering all my questions,

Sorry for your loss dude. Not sure what else I can say.

Many thanks! Enough said. Thank you. Life is for the living. I don't think you ever get over these things, but we go on. I may just make some juice and vape my .... off! Enough sadness! Here's to great TFA flavorings and juice! Best to all!

Ive only had a few interactions with you on here but you seem like a real stand up and helpful person. Im terribly sorry to hear about your son. Positive thoughts and prayers from me and mine to you and your family. Did your son vape? It might be kind of cool to make a commemorative juice in his honor. Something you can load up a tank with and think about all the good times.

99 drops PG or VG, 1 drop Turkish, then vape. Add a drop at a time until you find the sweet spot. If you can't find the vape you're looking for, think about what flavors you might like to add to make a good tobacco, i.e, vanilla, nut, sweetener, etc. Most tobacco flavors start out as fruits, which, when combined, makes many tobacco flavorings (Not NET's). Experiment a drop here and there until you find what you like. Making juice is seldom an instant gratification, but finding the right mixes is gratifying. Good luck!

Hey Bill! Thank you. This is a great idea.

Now, for the additional flavors... The only two I know of are caramel and brown sugar. Those are definitely added to real analogs. The nut idea intrigues me. Let's see, we have pecan, pralines and cream, and I don't know what else.

Have you any experience using the TFA Pralines and Cream flavor? I'll bet not, since it's a blended flavoring and the single flavors are where you concentrate.

I've been thinking about this. I have six tobacco flavors. I've been tempted to try a little tiny bit of all of them in one recipe. I'll bet you'll say, "It won't work. All the tobacco flavors are already blended with something else. It will be a mess." Yes?

So, the tobacco flavors that aren't natural extract tobacco are really fruit flavors? Is that what you meant? (Banging head on table, and sighing.)

I'll stop there and see what you have to say.

Tim

PS
You mentioned TFA Apple Pie in an earlier post. I have that flavor and all I can taste is coconut. There isn't a hint of apple or anything else. Just coconut.
