Bill ...

Thanks a bunch for the tips on this.

Earlier this morning I ordered the TFA Orange Cream, so it's too late to change the order now.

However, I do have some Cotton Candy and some Vanilla Bourbon already. I wonder if adding a little of each might help in making the Orange Cream just a little more realistic?

BTW ... I also have some Juicy Peach ... Maybe that might not go well with the Orange Cream?

Just looking for something that does taste a lot like a Dreamsicle.

It's a good mixer as well. I use it on Fruit Loops for example. Good one to have around! Ciao!

By the way, here's the ingredient list of Vanilla Swirl:

A little different, but not much. Ciao!

New member here but not new to vaping. I must say that I've been lurking on this thread for a few days with interest in DIY juices. What stood out the most is Bill and his knowledge with this. It was enough to get me out of the shadows of lurking and become active on this site. I hope to be able to add something of value soon too.

Bill, you've got some great stuff going. You ever thought about putting a book out on Juices? Even an e-book? Being serious. Glad to see someone thoroughly enjoy his hobby with the passion that you have.

So my personal challenge will be to work up an Oreo cookie juice. Something similar to Ben Johnson's Cr3am. Wouldn't think it would be that tough for the chocolate and vanillas but not sure about the cookie taste? Maybe a 3-5% pie crust or waffle type? Or something light enough to give just enough of a cookie flavor, just didn't remember seeing a plain cookie flavor on TFA... Again, this is all new to me.

Welcome to the light! Please participate with us. It is very much appreciated. Thank you for the suggestions. Very nice of you.

Oreo cookies, huh???? That's a complex taste, the dark cookie and the inside creamy center. What are your thoughts about this so far? Any ideas, or ingredient list?

My thoughts initially would be how to make the cookie. Probably either a Flavor Art or a DIY Flavor Shack Cookie. Then chocolate, double chocolate , vanilla Custard, Bavarian cream, cotton candy (sweetener), and sweet cream. Might use Vanilla Swirl for sweetness and Sweet Cream.

The TFA cinnamon sugar cookie is not right, probably, for the oreo cookie, so we might have to look elsewhere. maybe some more thought will cause us to come up with something, or someone who has gotten there will chime in. Welcome aboard!

What is the flavor of the oreo cookie part? anyone know?

Thanks Bill. Think you are spot on regarding choc and double choc. Was thinking Van Swirl and possible some French Vanilla. Thinking about the flavors that hit my mouth when I chew an Oreo... Strong chocolate with the flavor of vanilla mixing in with it... Chocolate is definitely the dominate flavor while vanilla is the secondary but there is a little cookie flavor in there as well. That has got to be the key difference. I mean there are plenty of Cookies and Cream juices out there. I agree, the challenge is the cookie piece. I did think about a very small % of Graham Cracker... just enough to kick a little 'cookie' flavor but not too much so that it overpowers the vanilla....

I hear you....but what is the flavor of cookie? and do you even need it. If you get chocolate and vanilla sweet cream it's not that easy to get much more than that predominantly. I did mention two cookie flavors not in the TFA line. If I was going to use a TFA flavor for some thing in there, I would use Belgian Waffle, and less than 3%. Two cents....Good luck!

Ahh, you did mention the other 2 cookie ones, didn't see that. But you are correct, do we even need a cookie flavor added. I will work up with and without cookie and see. Test, test, test. Thank you for your thoughts!

The predominant flavor in the cookie part of an Oreo is cocoa, not chocolate per sae. That's why the cookies is so dark. I saw a food show about the chocolate wars in the early 1900s that talked about orea using huge quantities of cocao powder in the cookie.

So, maybe the TFA bittersweet chocolate with some sweetener with a dash of choco and double dark choco? Some fun testing in that groove, I think. Bet you can get there though, somewhere close, plus, the second you jump on the sweet middle vanilla creams, a lot of variation is possible. We are getting closer, and haven't mixed anything yet....just the way I like it!

Good evening fine people. I'm new to the DIY eliquid. I recently ordered from TFA, and I'm currently waiting for my vape mail to arrive. I've been reading through this forum to get some tips, before it gets here. With that being said...I'd like to start off by saying...

Bill, words can not express... I'm so very sorry for your loss. While reading through these forums and seeing the help and joy you bring to this community, I can only imagine your son; having a father like yourself; must of been one hell of a man as well. My thoughts go out to you; and your family...

Is anyone here familiar with Alice in Vapeland, more so their Pumpkin' Tumble flavor? I'm looking to make something similar to that. If anyone has any tips or recipes, it would be much appreciated. Here are the flavors I've order so far, to tinker with... (Obviously some of these have nothing to do with the Pumpkin recipe. Some of them I purchased, just because of what I've read here)

Brown Sugar Extra Flavor (TFA)
Cheesecake Flavor Concentrate (TFA)
Cinnamon Danish Flavor (TFA)
Cotton Candy Flavor (TFA)
Graham Cracker Clear Flavor (TFA)
Malted Milk Flavor (TFA)
Pumpkin Spice Flavor (TFA)
Toasted Marshmallow Flavor Concentrate (TFA)
Root Beer Flavor TRI (TFA)
Double Chocolate Clear Flavor (TFA)
Smooth Flavor Concentrate (TFA)
Sweetener Flavor Concentrate (TFA)

Yep, I suspect the bittersweet would do it, with a little sweetness and maybe some creamy to take the edge off.

Just placed an order with MFS for black cherry and RY4

Steven, please keep us posted on what you end up doing with RY4. Did you get the TFA RY4 Double, or RY4 Asian?

I'm fighting the RY4 battle right now. Using Bill's steps I'm doing a 5ml base and adding drops at a time to find the right spot. I'm up to 5% and just now getting a microscopic hint of sweetness. I've been vaping the stuff at 13% and couldn't taste it. So, I increased the percentage to 15% and was immediately in perfume/chemical/industrial waste land. So I now assume the reason I'm not tasting it at 13% is because it's too strong.

Off topic... The ideal way to test mixes MUST be with a dripper. I have an Omega RDA and I'll be hanged if I can ever get it to work right. I've tried a dual-coil build at .9 ohm resistance and it gets so hot... Can anyone recommend an easy RDA that works good for testing juice? This is the third one I've tried.

Thanks!

Tim

Haven't posted for a while but saw the Oreo interest and thought I would put in my two cents as I attempted this flavor a year ago as a pretty new mixer and learned a couple things before I moved on. ( was trying to do Oreo for my daughter one afternoon)

When you get very close to your Oreo destination and your missing something and can't figure it out, grab your TFA peppermint and add one drop per 10 ml and if that doesn't do the trick, give it one extra drop per 10 ml.

If you want to turn it immediately into a yummy Girl Scout thin mint, give it 1 drop per three ml of peppermint.

I know it sounds weird, but go grab an Oreo and twist the cookie off and it it slowly and see if you don't taste the ever slight hint of peppermint in there.

I came close after two attempts a while back and lost interest .

I used double chocolate clear 16%. Caps vanilla custard at 4% And the peppermint

If I were trying this recipie now as a bit more experienced mixer, I would buy some Oreos and take some of the filling out and sit it beside me in my mixing area and start tasting my flavors on my hand and when I think I have my creamy inside flavors set, start mixing them till you get the inside right
As a stand alone juice.

Then just mix the double choc clear and the cream together and add the peppermint ever so slightly a drop at a time

The double choc clear and the peppermint , In my opinion will definitely be part of you recipie.

Your on you own as far as the filling.

I think Mr Wizard is on the right track

Later all....

Thank you for the kinds words. Much appreciated, and welcome to the thread. We're getting more participation now than we have in some time, and I hope this continues. I believe our juice making/vaping journey is at least as much fun as the destination! Figuring out the various juices that are top shelf is really fun to me, and obviously to many of you, I can't help but think we can probably figure out a lot of stellar recipes with true commercial applications. Not that that is even my goal, but great juice is attractive to all vapers, and many vendors. Just sayin'. My friend, you are off to a good start. Looking through your list, we need to add some vanillas and certainly our Bavarian cream! These are most important. Vanilla Swirl is an obvious choice, but really all the vanillas and creams (sweet cream) are important to us here. Anyway, welcome, great start, Ciao!
