Whenever I receive a flavor I mix it alone to see what percentage it is good at and to gauge the strength. I tried raspberry at 1-7% and every time I got a straight nail polish remover smell. Since I never got it to work on its own I never bothered to create a recipe with it. Open the flavor bottle and smell it. Does it smell like nail polish remover to you?

LOL....funny!

You misunderstand me. Flavors taste differently as single flavors, and quite possibly, very, very different when in complex mixes. Some of the best flavors I've ever made used Raspberries, not as a standalone flavoring, but with other flavors. It's like chocolate. In real life chocolate is a bitter, bitter taste that cannot be eaten alone. However, add cream, dairy, eggs, butter, sugar, vanilla, etc., and you have one of the best flavorings/recipes on Earth. Like you, I also taste test flavorings alone, but I learned a long time ago, that about 95% of TFA flavorings will not work as single flavorings. They have to be mixed.

If you haven't tried my raspberry Danish, by the way, you haven't lived, as far as I'm concerned. :D Sure doesn't taste that way as a single flavoring. When mixed with other berry flavorings and sweet cream and vanilla and sweetener, it is amazing, as well. Standalone raspberry? Not so much. In recipes as one of several flavorings???.....Amazing. That is my point. I hope that makes sense to you. I been at this flavoring game a while, by the way. Good luck to you!:toast:

I don't have the GT2 yet...and probably won't for a while. Right after my new LN Jack and Jointer Planes (I'm updating the shop). So, priorities. I guess I could sell a couple of used ones and get one. I have eleven GT1's. Wonder what the market is for a used clone? Maybe $10 after shipping, LOL?

Yes, the Cobbler is Jo's ADV. I'll be making a batch today myself. Danish is good too, though. Cobbler is better she tells me.

Yes, Love the P3. Took all of 5 minutes to become my new favorite. Menu took that entire 5 minutes to figure out. I don't care for manuals, but I did have to use their's, to use the P3. Easy learning curve, just different. My next APV will be a P3 for Jo, then a backup P3 for me, then sell old 2.5's and buy another P3 for me/Jo. I like them and have used Provari's for a couple of years. Sent one back for repairs. Quick, easy and inexpensive process. What can I say, I like 'em. Hard to beat reliability and quality. I don't vape often over 11 watts or so, so the P3 will do about double that, so it works great for my vaping, YMMV. :D

:2cool: :vapor:
That's kind of funny! I think I like the Peach Danish better, a stronger Peach flavor! My wife likes the Cobbler better!

I figured out the menu on my own in a few minuets. It is nice to have info upfront and not spend time pushing buttons all day! I have the new Kafun v4 on the way and looking for the P3 connection for that to make the hybrid connection. Haven't gone for the TGT 2 yet.

I finally took the time to make Bill's Cinnamon Danish, Fire & Ice and Monkey Business.
All delightfully vapeable right out of the can.
I have never had an all day vape and doubt I ever will; but I do have several every day vapes. I can see these in a daily rotation.
I will likely tweak to my particular taste buds over time, but I made 30ml each. I like to give a recipe a chance for my taste buds to adapt and to try different devices and builds to discover the various profiles that can come out before messing with it.
Kudos and Thanks to you Sir! An excellent 1st round showing.

It's funny that you would bring up that rasberry danish today,i mixed this right after you first posted it,put it in my cabinet to let it sit overnight, and then forgot it was there until today when i was straightening up the cabinet.I was going through and found that one along with about 15 others that i mixed and forgot i had,so i'll be giving that a try probably tommorow.

purelyscientific,i had the same experience as you with the rasberry flavor, and almost dumped the flavor bottle after that, but like Bill and others have mentioned,it is completely different when mixed with other flavors.Just today i tried a rasberry cheesecake, and while the cheesecake still does not taste good to me,it actually made for a very nice light rasberry taste, definitely not that nail polish rancid rasberry taste that you get when using it by itself.

I'm starting to see that with stuff like boysenberry.. I think I gotta get some EM on my next order.. The fruits good but it don't quite taste like the pie or Knott's Jam I'm used to hehe..

Pie?

I like pie. Yes, I'm a pie man. Here's some pies that I like:

Lemon Meringue Pie

Lemon - 12%
Marshmallow - 6%
Bavarian Cream - 4%
Cotton Candy - 5%
Graham Cracker - 3%

Dutch Apple Pie ala Mode, my Signature juice:

Apple - 12%
French Vanilla - 4%
Sweetener - 4%
Pie Crust - 4%
Graham Cracker - 3%
Brown Sugar - 2%
Butter - 1%
Cinnamon - .5%

Mango Custard

Mango - 11%
Cotton Candy - 7%
Vanilla Custard - 6%
Bavarian Cream - 6%

Vanilla Custard

Whipped Cream - 2%

Pecan Pie

Pecan - 5%
Graham Cracker - 5%
Pie Crust - 3%
Sweetener - 3%
Brown Sugar - 2%
Vanilla Bourbon - 2%

You can learn as much about pie making studying both the similarities and the differences. I can see the evolution in my juice because I remember making each one, and know a few tricks here and there. For example, if you are going to use pie crust, also use graham cracker. Not always true, but true to me today. There are many others. The patterns are there if you are interested. Another thing, some of these recipes are going on two years old. I could probably improve on them today, and so could you! Ciao! :toast::D:vapor::2c:

See my blogs. I have provided recipes for chocolates, pies, Danish, shakes, candy bars, and other sweet items. Well over 50 recipes with all TFA flavorings. Also, I have blogs that explain why these complex mixes work, and how to make your own, adjust them to suit your own tastes, a 100 drop taste test, and generally what we do in the DIY world of vaping. I took me a long time to learn what works, and I provided these to help new DIY'ers learn the ropes without months of frustration and hundreds of bad recipes, which is what I went through. Maybe something in there for you. Good luck! :D

Careful with the Fire and Ice. It'll burn through steel I think! :toast:

Your blog is wonderful! I went there and read everything before I started doing DIY. I'm still new and haven't done much yet, but your blog and this thread are invaluable to new DIYers!

Yeah your dutch apple I plan on trying!! I gotta try that lemon meringue too now!

I have a tough time with the blogs cause I spend most of my ECF/VU time on Tapatalk on my phone/tablet which only let's you see the forum. Browsing non-mobile webpages on here is a pain and I try my best to keep my actual Mac as strictly the heart of my recording "studio" and nothing else hehe. (As i run to hide the video games installed on it)..

I tried the Lemon Meringue Pie. Had to do a few substitutions, because I didn't have all the right ingredients, but it came out great anyway! I'm sure it would have been better with all the right ingredients, but it was still better than anything I've bought.

Great! Use the Lemon fairly quickly, or keep batches small as the TFA lemon fades a bit over a short time in intensity, as we've found out here by several members. :toast:

All the blogs were once posts on this thread, and most of them over the last six months. So, you can use search to find the same entries if you are interested. :toast:

I make the dutch Apple pie and lemon meringue for my wife ALL the time! I'm more of a Cinnamon Danish and Peach Danish kind of guy. Oh and the Cocolate milkshake is a good one for me too. She is into the Pecan pie also. All good!!!
:toast::vapor: vape on!!!
Oh, I did adjust the Apple Pie +1% Apple and - 1% on the French vanilla for my wife. She wanted a little more Apple flavor to come out.
The lemon doesn't seem to fade to bad in the meringue but it does in lemon cake within a couple weeks with a bigger batch. At least it did for me!
