Everyday as more and more of the campaign against e-cigarettes are to light, it seems that it's going to be our e-juice that is going to be the first to go. In my opinion, that is going to be the way in which we are attacked. mods, vaporizers, ect are going to be secondary. Very soon we may be very limited to our options pertaining to e-juice. We will be left with DIY as our only option. How many of you guys (excluding the ones that already DIY) Would still vape if DIY is your only option? What could we do in the future to make it easier for a new vaper to DIY? How many a vaper would still start if that was the only option?

there are processes to remove nicotine from tobacco, if the nicotine source were to be regulated/innacessable, the methods of nicotine extraction would become more common knowledge ( probably on Youtube ;) ) and the sales of pipe/cigar/RYO tobacco would increase quite a bit.... but then again, blackmarket nic would be a booming business too.... and then you will see a new breed of "vapeleggers" emerge selling DIY juices... just like the good ole days of prohibition....

IDK about the rest of the DIYers, but I for one would be happy to help others on ECF learn hands on. From my experience (all be it limited to my own all day vape), I can type all day long about "how to", and still have people not get it completely.... sit down with them for 30min or less and make 15ml, their off an running... SAFELY. I list my home city for that reason, if someone who want to learn coiling or what not is close by.... I got no problem meeting up at a coffee house and teaching when I'm free. I've had 5- people already get into rebuildables, and more came to watch us at a mall close by. This was good for 2 reason, helped new vapers, yes. But more so, answered many questions and concerns about vaping passers by had. How knows, maybe their batting for our team now :)

Extraction from nic patches and gum would seem like a natural progression (aside from tobacco of course, some don't care for the flavor).

Hooch runners of last century were replaced by "pill runners" who will now be replaced by "nic runners". [emoji38]

Threads about which brand of patch or gum produces the best juice. Doctor offices being shut down for writing too many scripts.

The above is all in fun, not being serious here.

Suppose I'll be DIYing as well.

As hordes of APV, tank, coil, atty manufacturers go out of business as they wait years while the FDA "considers" their applications.

Until some enterprising manufacturer submits their product to the FDA not as a tobacco product but as a Smoking Cessation Device (a medical device) backed by the research that will eventually be performed that confirms it's efficacy.
My Doctor will prescribe an APV and flavorless eliquid.
Walgreens or CVS pharmacists will offer my choice of "flavor shots" to my eliquid (like they do for my child's prescription antibiotics).

From that (and the criminalization of pure nicotine "distillers") states will pass "medical nicotine laws", followed by legalization and control of the nictotine delivery industry.
The legalization and distribution will look very similar to that of mary wanna.(Had to spell it this way)

I'll go to my "Vape Doctor" get my "Vape Card"
Boutique eliquid shops will spring up again

And we will have come full circle from the original FDA vs NJOY litigation that lead us here today.

BTW: Judd Apatow is currently adapting this story into a movie starring Seth Rogan , James Franco, Danny McBride and Woody Harrelson
Set in the year 2029, working title "Nicotine Express--Sons of the Vape"

Many of us DIYers have been doing this for quite a while now.

Wait, are you saying this isn't like a 401K.... We don't need enough to last past retirement? LOL

But in all seriousness, if this does go south, how long till WE get knocks on the door from ATF looking to seize larger quantities of nicotine and/or other DIY ingredients.... and who says what a large quantity is?

Yes if the FDA forces my hand I will learn to DIY my juice assuming I can legally get my hands on the supplies needed. If I can't I will consider finding a new country to call home where it is legal. It just seems so surreal that at the same time ......... legalization is about to sweep the US that the FDA is going to crack down on vaping.

I think it's going the other way and will be mainstreamed, in box stores all over the world.

but if it doesn't I guess we'll be showing our drivers license at the store to get only two boxes of nicotine gum or patches, whilst the ones making the illegal drug are jacking boxes off of semi's, *like sudafed* it's just ridiculous.

or we'll go down an alley, three knocks on the "VapeEasy" door and we're in the clouds again *lol*

If and when my nic runs out, I could vape 0mg and get by consuming lozenges or gum for the nic. If it ever became criminalized, out and about vaping would be a gonner, or done very discreetly, I sure wouldn't risk my mods and atties if there was a chance of confiscation. Those ahead of the curve will be much better off. I fear that when the time of the deeming regs gets closer, there will be runs on supplies, right now is probably a golden time for anyone thinking about it to dip their toe into the pool, the information available today is phenomenal. How will boards like this keep running without advertising budgets? Will the info still be available in a worse case scenario? These thought have crossed my mind...
