Well it smells good like it should but I'm not getting the flavor out of it. Tried 1 drop per ml for a week, not there, added another drp/ml, still not but for a second it did. Now I have a 3 drp/ml still not good yet after ultra steep.

It has more Of an anise flavor as opposed to licorice. I haven't got percentages right on it yet. In looking for them to taste like they smell.

vaping the red at 3 drops/ml and the flavor is great, maybe at little strong, but my fav right now. I taste some licorice in this one too at this strength
Thanks, I like anise as well. I'll start mine at 3% then.

I used to think that anise was the actual plant, and that licorice was the name of the candy that used anise flavoring, but I was wrong. Likewise, I thought wasabi used horseradish as its main ingredient, but again I was wrong. They actually are different plants.

But in both cases, if you like or dislike one of either pair you will almost certainly feel the same about the other. On some molecular level there is some similar, or likely even the same, chemical compound that is responsible for the distinct flavor in both ingredients. And you can really see this to be true when you check that the main ingredient of almost any thing called "wasabi" is just green colored horseradish, because real wasabi is too expensive. And I would imagine a similar thing happens with anise and licorice products.

I am not trying to say there is not a difference, just that they are very similar. Similar enough to probably guess how much you will like something in advance.

Fennel, who would have thought.. Is that fresh at 3%? Does it taste like the flavoring smells for you? You like it yet? I know in the past with the premade juice the flavor would change over time, I remember vaping it one day and getting like a slight red hot feel. I don't like to wait but I'm thinking I need to let my hangsens steep longer.

Yeah man, I mixed it right after work. I definitely taste a sweet fennel note. I'm going to steep mine so the tobacco blends in. I do hope I pick up that red pepper note. That would be really nice.

So I tried four different tobacco flavors. The verdict is they are all winners.

Hangsen = the easy way to DIY tobacco. Almost feels like cheating.

Tab Blended, tastes just like DK-TAB, any slight difference is no greater than the variation in buying premixed Dekang from various places at various times.

RY1 is a subtle but very pleasant flavor. Hard to relate it to anything. Somewhat like USA Mix, but a little less acidic, with a slight peanut flavor, the tinniest "grassy note", and totally absent of that ashy flavor sometimes present in USA mixes (especially the red variants.)

Indian, definitely reminds me of 555, but more distinct and better.

And saving the best for last, PIPE FLAVOR! I think Jimi D. may be right, there seems to be a hint of vanilla and anise. Which are both flavors I generally dislike, but I'm so glad I took the chance on it. I kind of detect some coumarin in it, maybe. But whatever is in it it's great.
