Received an order today that included the Hangsen Arabic tobacco.

Mixed 10ml
3% Arabic
1% AP
1% vape Wizard

Made one of my all day vapes first try without steeping! Made another 10ml bottle to steep for a couple of weeks. Picked up all kinds of stuff going on with this recipe. On the inhale a little Turkish or real strong VFC, slight maple, and on exhale VFC again with touch of chocolate? I love the dry exhale on this versus other ADVs in my collection. Nice vape and change of pace.

I recently tried Desert Ship by another brand but there is a green earthy note in that one that makes me nauseous. Not exaggerating as it literally caused nausea and I used to smoke Pall Malls and willing to put up with about anything on some of these adjusting flavors LOL! When I tried the Arabic, I thought it was about to do the same thing with that one herbally note but it was a perfectly blended flavor. It worked.

The Desert Ship has a herbally high note that doesn't sit well with me and I like things tobacco or natural flavored. I forced myself to vape it half a day figuring I'd find what's right about it. I wanted that one to work! I finally put it down for a couple of days. Went back to it and first vape did it again. Not good for me although 5 star rating and many raved about it. Tried to mask it by raising AP on one batch and even added a drop of caramel cappuccino on another but that high note stays no matter what. Can't imagine what flavor molecule does that to me but it's in there!

I wonder if the Hangsen brand of Desert Ship has the same green earthy note that affects me that way. What do you all think of the Hangsen Desert Ship? Any experience with same flavor by other brands?
If it's not 'green/organic' in flavor, what would you all suggest that high note is in Desert Ship?

Placed my order. Green Orange, Raspberry, Cheese Cake, Plum, and Crema di Italiano.

Green Orange???? That can't be good. If you want bitter, just squeeze a lemon or something lol. ( Just tryin' to tease. :vapor:)

Hey Jimi D, let me tell you about an immortalizer clone with a .5 ohm ribbon coil, and a bottle of premixed hangsen ry4 at 24mg. ( I normally vape 6 to 7 mg.). Now let me see if I can shorten the story to just three words. INTENSE, INTENSE, INTENSE. lol.

Not hot or harsh, but very warm and intense. I finally understand the sub ohm fans. The ry4 had a slightly different flavor profile, aided in good part by the extra nic and that's bound to be as close to the analog experience as possible. I liked it, but I've grown to like a slightly cooler vape and that flavor profile better.

In my 804s at 1.4 ohms, and almost 9 watts, I liked the premixed a little better than anything I'd mixed up with the flavor, but it was very close to what I had mixed at 3% and I still think the extra nic was a good part of the difference. I got a lot of the peppery taste that I like, but seems to be missing from nic from rts.

Anyways, I thought you might enjoy that little story. Vape on. :vapor:

Hey guys, I mixed some Turkish blend at 1drop per ml as per Jimi D, and after one week of steeping, I do not get much flavor. Of course I am using a VG base. Do I need to steep longer?
While you have that one steeping, try another sample at 6-8%. Some Hangsens are on the weak side, plus if you mix with higher VG it'll weaken it as well. I like the Turkish (one of my favorites) at 7%.

I vape the arabic at 7% with 2% AP and find it a wonderful all day vape.

You are correct about the desert ship and the molecule your speaking of that gives the grassey note is:

Methylbutyraldehyde 1% solution

taste description: Musty and rummy, with nutty and cereal notes - caramel and fruity undernotes

This is a common molecule in these types of tobaccos and does take a bit to get used to. Most flavor venders over use it but I find in desert ship uses it correctly. It's a flavor I've come to enjoy as one of my standards. It's used to give a mix a musty grassy note.

I made a test bottle of HS magic mix (7%) and TFA black cherry (2.5%). It's not fully steeped yet but i dripped a little to test it today. It's a real black cherry tobacco. Both notes are there without one overpowering the other. I'll see how it is in a week or so but I think I have a winner here.

Wow danny! That was a clear and expert answer alright. So me and the Methylbutyraldehyde didn't get along on that Desert Ship. I suspect I taste a little of it in Hangsen Arabic but seems matched with other flavors and simply awesome! Vaping it again today. Took a full tank to work today. The Methylbutyraldehyde description would of suggested I'd like it based on the description with nutty, cereal, and caramel part of it. I like those things including any graham cracker goodness. It's the musty side that I think caused me trouble. Going to try 7% Arabic - 2% AP tonight since I like this Hangsen Arabic so much now.

Next order for tobacco's by Hangsen. GREAT JOB HANGSEN!

Yes it's the musty rummy side that's causing you issues. That's the problem with juice manufactures. They don't know how to combine it to meld with the rest of the flavors. They use to much and make it to prominent. That's why I use Methylbutyraldehyde to make my own musty mixes. If you ever tasted halo's prime 15 you would understand what I mean. They use it in a lot of there juices and they know how to use it. Hangsen desert ship does use a tiny bit to much but you can offset that by adding 1 - 1.5% AP (Acetyl Pyrazine).

I get that "musty" strong caramel flavor with some of the ready made liquids I buy, and usually it gets better by leaving the cap off for a minimum of two days. Just wondering if you guys have tried that route and whether we are even referring to the same flavor.

I don't think we are referring to the same thing. Musty usually is not related to caramel. Musty is usually related to a dryer less sweet tobacco mix. Leaving the cap off does not help with the flavor molecule we are talking about. Time helps with the molecule we are talking about. That molecule flavor component will fade a bit in 2 - 3 days.

Jimi,

I'm sorry it has taken me so long to thank you. I've been on work overload and have forgotten my manners.
Michael, There's no need to apologize my brother. Did ya get the new flavors yet ? Mine haven't made it to Fl. yet. Looks like Monday for me. I'm dying to vape that Green Orange at sub ohm:D
