I was originally led to Ikenvape pursuing info. elsewhere. The impressive array of regular posters here strive to be accurate, serve up their experience with a smile, and welcome the respectful. With my vaping training wheels still firmly affixed I'll be popping in.

I think that is all because of Isaac. The guy is just so nice that it becomes contagious. You can't help but like him.

Wonderful! Now that this whole issue is settled.... Isaac, you'll be mailing my new (name to be announced later) to me tomorrow, right?

Overnight will be fine.

Congrats are in order to the admin for the smooth (for me) software transition. :toast:

But now the gloves come off!!!

Where as Angus has shamelessly groveled before
our honorable judge to receive a FREE whatchamacallit device with full knowledge his entries or lack there of don't stand a chance. I think punishment is in order.

Fellow contestants, his stature requires the most severe penalty indeed.. I propose Tha Man be force fed through a straw, a supersized room temperature Poutine Nutella smoothie.

Our Sterling, Protean judge must make this decision without pressure or undue influence.

Good Day.

 Just totally speechless on this end!

Switcher rightfully and as always beautifully said my good man.

Today was a heck of a day, I was at the shop from morning till sundown trying to master a locking mechanism for our beloved mystery x. Trial and error all the way. There was one moment where we had it BUT and there's a nasty one in the way, it wasn't all that convenient. What we did, is drill a hole through the brass stem actuator (which is now replaced with silver aluminum) then placed a steel rod through the newly drilled hole. We then cut out a groove all the way through the bottom base of the actuator's housing for the rod to slide into, therefore creating activation. The problem was the inconvenience. Everytime you use it, you have to check the switch to make sure that it's lined up. While this method gave a visual boost to the exterior (the groove on the button housing is especially appealing), it's still not perfect. We then thought of some sort of stopper to put in place, but left the idea undecided.

I thought of actually cutting the brass contact point inside of the unit like a pattern then cutting the threaded washer that secures the spring into the same pattern, but again the same problem as the previous lies. Before progressing we thought it best to officially call it day.

Question ( I'm sure this has been asked) Is the this fully mechanical switch.... And when do you think it will be ready for the vaping public?

I will be watching this thread like a hawk.... again congrats buddy. :)

Hey Isaac,

I just watched the video again and I can't figure out how someone would be able to adjust the throw on the switch. Will that option be available for those of us who prefer a shorter throw?

A spacer fitted below the machined shoulder on the button side will lengthen the post on the inside, effectively shortening the throw.

ETA: Similar to what you are doing on the P18.

Not necessarily the option of adjusting the throw, but the option of adjusting sensitivity.

I think I gotcha Switcher, during the trials yesterday, we did lengthen the top portion of the button and in turn decreased the bottom half. The objective was to put the same rod on the inside of the mechanism along with the spring, but the problem was that the spring would have a chance to bind. So then we went back to drawing board and reversed the setup for the rod to be in place of the bottom half. The throw on his (machinist) 2 units are much more shallow than mine and when depressed, the unit appears as one whole. Rather than mine showing the separation at all times.

I think we are one the same page Isaac, but I don't wish to discuss it here (trade secrets). You have mail coming :)

Thank you Switcher, I did feel odd talking about it here as there always seems to be a hidden member watching at the bottom and this thread has generated a few suppliers to also speak about it in private, one of which was very helpful, but still.
The good news is, that unit on the video is already expired. As we keep at it.
