Oh my! You do get use to the empty nest! First my boys grew up and left and I work days and hubby worked nights, I grew to love the quiet peaceful times after a noisy day in the classroom!
Now Mr. Chili retired before me and there is NO quiet - alone time.
Each phase in life brings new experiences and changes, but they are all good.
What I'm afraid of is that I will have so much free time that the baseboards that have been screaming for a good cleaning will now be heard and I won't be able to ignore them anymore!
I'm like Angel. When I have very little time I get a lot done! I'm actually afraid I will get less done with more time on my hands :shock:

Congrats on your upcoming retirement. :)

I can only imagine what quiet time was like after a school day. Something truly treasured, I'm sure. ;)

I have 10 years before the empty nest and 18 years before retirement. Gonna be a long strange trip. Lolz!

I ordered from them quite some time ago, I don't remember there being any problem.
I think it's just a common thing now. If it's not one, it's another...sad to say.
Your best bet is to use a card that won't hold you liable, or use one that you can generate disposable #'s for online shopping. I can do that with my Bank of America card.
It's an extra step, and you sometimes have to call to make sure they don't hit it for a dollar, or a penny first, cuz the number is a one time use only.
Most can take the cc number over the phone too.

You are right. Very common and such a shame. :(

I think we're gonna all have to live vicariously through Chili:p...and yes Chili, having all that free time doesn't guarantee anything getting done...when I was between jobs all those months last year, I had so many things I wanted to get done while I had the time and guess what...nothing got done!

Dale, what are we going to do with you?...Are you trying to take away my title of "Injury Queen":sneaky:...Don't make me have to go hurt myself just to get it back. :p:lol:...Seriously though....STOP THAT! Hope your back feels better quick. ;)

Good morning OBG, Joey and lurkers

Why, oh why, do dying/dead batteries in smoke alarms and home security systems need to go off in the middle of the night. We are pretty good about changing the smoke/co2 detectors with the time change. Guess we should plan on doing the home security system too. Harumphhh!! :-x It's toooooo early. :(

    Good morning Sara :)

This has happened to me many times LOL I bought rechargeable 9v batteries and a charger off amazon, I am waiting for the current batteries to die so I can start using them. I figure on charging them every 3 months so I will not have to hear the alarms going off again LOL
