Oh he makes the payments for the truck, but there is no way he can afford to have it fixed...was over $500 last time.

Does DH take insulin? I'm assuming he's Type 2 since you say the meds are not working anymore...bf's mom is Type 2, has been for over 20 years...she had to go on insulin a few years back because the other meds were no longer working for her either...my son is Type 1, so he's always been on insulin.
He's not yet but I'm afraid that is where he's headed :?: Yes, they are saying type 2. Personally I don't know the difference.

Poor kid, life is hard :(

Oh. :( I do not remember that. So sorry to hear he's having problems.

    Sent up!! :nun:
Thank you, must have worked ... they've left it alone, WHEW!

Well most people who get it later in life are Type 2, and it can usually be controlled with diet and meds (pills), although after many years of it, a lot have to go on insulin. Type 1 usually hits people in their youth, which is why it's called juvenile diabetes, and you have to be on insulin for the rest of your life, no pills work for that type. However both types need to watch what they eat and can have the same side effects. Insulin is not all that bad...it can help control out of control blood sugars and keep him where he needs to be.

Hopefully he'll follow a stricter diet and it won't get worse.

Yea that they gave up on the tree!!

Floated in the pool, just a short bit...I have NO base tan and didn't want to fry. :)
Going to go read before dinner. ;)

    Good to know Angel :)
I just worry cause his mother died at age 56 , he just recently turned 54. His sister is in bad shape with it. She looks 20 years older than I and yet is younger than me

Oh I know it is worrisome, but if he'll take it seriously and do whatever his doc says he can live a long time with it...bf's mom is 79 and has lived with it for over 20 years...my aunt is in her 70's and she's had Type 1 since she was in her early teens...so if you take care of yourself it is manageable...you may just need to get out the cattle prod and give him a good jolt or two to make him tow the line! ;)

 A little pink on my face and chest.
The storms, if they materialize aren't due until late afternoon, or this evening.
I haven't checked for awhile, but it's bright sun, some thinish clouds, but no big poofy ones. :)
Thanks, reading didn't last too long, my dryer stopped.

It was really nice, while it lasted. First time this season. I've sat on the edge and dangled my legs, but first time in it today.

Oh, we have a chance of storms in the night too :)
It's been cloudy here all day so hasn't been too bad, I saw 88 :?: A lot better than the predicted 94.

    Hi OBG :)
That's the one I would have to skip

Been thawing a turkey all day, hoping to be able to cook it tomorrow. Also planning to make some beef stew ... this is for us to eat this coming week I hope :) May use the slow cooker for the stew.
It was pretty much a DIY day food wise :?: We just couldn't get coordinated on our eating times

Sounds like you'll have a busy cooking day. :)

Well heck, I'll have some of all of them! :p:D

DH and I split a steak, with some long grain & wild rice. Neither of us were super hungry.
I had a later lunch, and he snacked about 4.
Dale, we usually DIY on the weekends, just eat when we're hungry...or not.
There usually something leftover, and of course, there's plenty of tuna.

Yeah, turning into a regular Sunday deal for me

We do mostly but normally there will be a shared supper time (something out) somewhere in there ;)
