I felt better and made it to the gym after skipping 2 days. Another cloudy yucky day. I am getting tired of this rainy weather and it feels like it will be around for a while.

Terry called again tonight. I just found out the place I am going on vacation does not have Wifi. It really did not upset me as badly as I thought it would. Of course, I know that I have my phone so that might have made the blow a little easier. heehee It is awful to be so dependent on technology. Terry does not have a laptop and I have never seen him google anything on his phone. He told me the only thing to do for entertainment was to go take a drive to the Dollar General store.

I am glad I have lots of books on my Kindle app and I can take my knitting too. I doubt I have too much of a problem entertaining myself. If nothing else it will be nice just to do nothing. I need a break from shopping anyway. I went to the $1.25 store and WallyWorld today. I did happen to find a red sweater that I liked. It was Christmas red so I had to get it.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I have absolutely nothing planned and that is okay with me.

I think we all could benefit from some of that unplugged time, Rat2.
I know you are right. I am looking forward to doing some knitting. That is one thing that I have not had a chance to do much of the last couple of years. The only thing I took the time to make was my friend from West Virginia a hat, scarf, and gloves set for Christmas. It is really cold there and snowy. I had made her a hat years ago and she said she still wore it.
20220302_223433.jpg I made a pompom for the top of the hat that she can attach if she wants it. Some people don't like them. I am a pompom kinda gal. heehee

I should get some beachy-colored yard and make an afghan for the leather couch he bought for there. I like the look of leather (and I love the heated seats in cars) but I would have to sit on a blanket if I had a leather couch. Seems cold in the winter and hot in the summer. I have never had a leather couch so I really don't know.

I was tired so I went to bed right after I posted on here last night. Woke up a couple of times through the night and just went ahead and got up at 5. The coffee tastes pretty good this morning.

Happy Saturday y'all.

Too bad you have that appointment Sara, seems like a good day for some “you“ time.

Rat2 I bet Terry would treasure an Afghan made by you :thumb:

So we won’t hear from you the whole time you’re gone? :(:cry:

    Good evening Sara

That’s amazing, Dale  sorry about those storms though.

I made spaghetti with meat sauce, garlic toast and salad for dinner.

Off to fulfill my daily quota of Christmas movies

    Have a great night!
You too Sara, good night

Do you really think with your luck, that you are going to get that much of a break from me? heehee

    Silly girl.
    Rat2, your knitting is lovely!
Thank you. I find it relaxing and I am so grateful to the little old woman that taught me to knit when I was young. I still consider myself a beginner even after all these years and I still use the knitting needles she taught me on.

She had been a nurse in the war. I loved listening to her stories. I never heard her husband say more than a couple of words but I could sit for hours listening to her. They moved away and we stayed in contact through letters. I guess she was also my first penpal.

I have never made anything that is very difficult to knit. Mainly, scarves and baby booties. Lots of baby blankets too. Here are some of the little baby booties I have knitted for presents and a Hello Kitty hat.

I have always liked making little things. Believe it or not, I used to do a lot of painting. Just acrylics. I never got into oils. I have never really had anyone to show what I have done. Thanks for letting me share with y'all.

I went to bed early last night and read very little before I went to sleep. That is one advantage of my being anemic. heehee It is the only time I fall asleep quickly.

Terry called last night and talked for an hour and a half. I've never known a man that liked to talk on the phone. heehee He said he was coming home tomorrow and believe it or not, I am glad. Judging from what he has been telling me he ate for supper, I feel like I should cook him a home-cooked meal. He ate a lot of pizza, fish sticks, and hamburgers. It seems like I am still in my care-giver mode whether I want to be or not. Change is awfully hard. I also have not cooked in 3 months. I think I might be missing my own home-cooked meals a little bit. Gosh, I'm thinking about meatloaf for country style steak. Crockpot dishes are so good when it gets chilly.

Hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday.

Oh Rat2! That blue set is adorable!
Thank you. If they were having girls, I always gave them the MaryJane's. The little boys got the others. Around here, you either are a fan of Carolina Tarheels, Duke Blue Devils, or State Wolfpack. Personally, I have never gotten into the whole sports thing. Dad always had to watch the games or races but if you asked him the next day who won, he couldn't tell you. Oh well, he enjoyed it. That's all that mattered. I would rather read or watch the grass grow. heehee

    Good morning ladies

Wow!! Rat2, those are absolutely adorable!! I think Terry would absolutely love a home cooked meal!

Thank you, Dale  perfect quote for today and I am starving ;)

I scrolled on my phone til my eyes crossed and got a couple more hours in. But I really wished I had just gotten up. I don’t do well with “naps” Once in awhile, I go to bed that early and sleep til the alarm. But mostly afraid I would be up in the middle of the night, so I have to be really tired to do it.

Not really a sports fan either. Definitely love to read and draw. Both of which I need to do more. I also have a cricut which I’ve used in the past to make cards but it’s too much of a pain to bring it and all the supplies downstairs to make a couple cards and then lug it back up. I hope one day to have my own little crafting corner but that’s on the back burner for now.

Leftover chili from the freezer and homemade corn bread with jalapeños for dinner. Tonight’s Advent activity was picnic by the Christmas tree. Let’s just say, chili….not a good idea on the beach blanket by the tree  It’s in the wash, no biggie. We also did a Christmas word scramble after we ate. Dh won the most words lol
