Good afternoon everyone

Thanks for the awesome info SMT!

Way to go, Joey!! I’m glad to hear you aren’t coughing as much.

LOL, Dale ;)

Finished laundry, vacuumed and mopped, prepped veggies for the week and hard boiled a dozen eggs. Still have to make rice, unload/load dishwasher and trim Lucy’s nails……man they grow so much faster than mine, not fair!!

Hope everyone has a lovely afternoon!

    Good evening lurkers

Steak sandwiches with mushrooms, onions and provolone, cut up veggies and air fried tots for dinner. Not the healthiest but better than takeout. One of our goals for the new year is to rotate MORE from the freezer/pantry.

Time to settle in with my book. My feet are begging for it  Sweet dreams

Delayed breakfast gratification here. Belated thank you, Dale. I sure hope your headache leaves. It's been there long enough. Sending good thoughts.

Joey, that is such good news that you are doing so well and starting to feel better. Sometimes I still can't believe I really quit smoking. I suppose I only traded it for a healthier alternative but I remember feeling better. Now I can't imagine not vaping.

Sara, evidently we have two different definitions of having a relaxing day. heehee You were uber-productive. I do understand how you have so much to do so you don't have to do it during the work week. I remember those days (not fondly though). I am not sure about anyone else but the older I get, the less likely things are to get done when they should! And the best part. . . it does not bother me.

It is a little overcast here and 29 degrees here. I said I was not going to get leaves up this year until I could look up and see only two leaves on the trees. Well, now all I see is a squirrel nest so I do need to try to get-r-done. But I have the utmost confidence in my ability to procrastinate.

The gym was closed yesterday because it was Sunday and it is closed today because of MLK. Hard to believe I'm disappointed. I have an eye re-check tomorrow but I'll try to get a walk tomorrow afternoon in. Looking on the bright side which is something I always try to do, my knee has had a wonderful rest. Since I do not have insurance this year, I am going to be really careful with everything I do and try not to do stuff in excess like I normally do. I have two years til I can get on Medicare and I can't wait. (well, I guess I can

    ) I have to. heehee

Is today a holiday for everyone? I know the banks and the stock market are observing MLK day. Either way, have a wonderful day!

    Good morning everyone

Bitter cold over here but the sun is trying to shine through. The rubber part of my wipers is frozen and when I pull my door handle open it sticks out.

Dale, hope the headache goes away soon.

Ugggg, your rain will be here this week, Joey.

Rat2, thank you for the reminder to order my contacts lol. My work/kiddo’s school are closed today for MLK. Sorry your gym was closed. I wish I had the discipline to do more during the week and less on the weekends.

Followed Dh to the mechanic to drop his truck off for new tires, then we splurged and picked up breakfast. I had a plain waffle, shared an order of bacon and an iced caramel macchiato. Off to strip the sheets/blankets for laundry (and here I thought I was done with that) making a lasagna for freezer meals this month.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Darn, I forgot to tell you how much fun I had at the boat show yesterday. Oh my. I did not realize boats were that expensive. There really are some beautiful boats. I picked out one I like and Terry said I only picked it because it had silver, glittery sparkles in the trim. And you know what? He was right. I do love sparkles.
    RatYes.gif

There was a very nice man and his wife there that had known Terry for almost as long as I have. They had sold Terry several of his boats over the years. When we walked up, he looked at me and his eyes got real big. He called his wife over too. He said that as many years as he had known Terry that not once had he ever brought a friend with him.

Before we left, the man asked if he could take a picture of us because some other man would not believe it unless he had proof. I thought it was funny and sort of sweet in a way. The man sent Terry the picture he took and Terry shared it with me. I thought that was considerate also. It was an okay pic. I just am not very photogenic. Now my sister never took a bad picture. I always said that her beauty was on the outside and mine was on the inside. heehee

He stopped at Hardee's on the way home (which I have not been to in probably 12 years) and we brought back some kind of burger with mushrooms and cheese on it. It was not bad at all but I am just not big into any fast food. Evidently, Terry is. He went home early last night because he said he was going to work on his inventory of ammo that he has been working on all week. He is almost finished. He has found ammo that he does not remember ordering. He has so darn much. I am not sure if I understand so much. I am not sure but I think maybe that is an issue he got in Viet Nam. Maybe? But looking on the bright side, look at the money he has really saved. Ammo has gotten so expensive. If he decided to sell it, he would make more than if he had had that money in the bank. It was a good investment.

I received a text this week that my background check was approved and I would be getting my permit in the next couple of weeks. That's great news. I knew I would be approved but I thought it would take a lot longer to get it.

I probably will not have anything happening til Terry invites me to the church dinner Wednesday but I am sure I will get into something.

    making a lasagna

It has been so long since I have made that. By the time you buy all that goes into it, it is not an inexpensive meal. But it is a delicious meal. Dad liked Stoffer's and I agree it is not bad but it is nothing like home-made IMO.

I just said I needed to make a big meatloaf so I could have easy freezer dinners. It makes it so much quicker to cook a meal when the meat is already done. I have done that since my kiddos were little. I guess I need to slow down on the salads and eat up some of the freezer reserves before they get yucky. I do hate to waste anything.

Good morning Joey, Sara and Rat2

It’s very cloudy here and rained in the night, might get more. Head is feeling better since that happened.

Yeah I know it’s a holiday for some, just another Monday to me. Washing clothes today and have some meat out to thaw. I do the freezer thing too Rat2 and agree having meat ready really cuts down on dinner prep.

Congratulations on getting approved Rat2

Hope you take a little time for yourself Sara and you too Joey.

Stocking up on ammo is very wise, especially in these times. I do wish we had gone ahead and got our permits before NY made it tougher. Glad you had a good time at the boat show. I can’t believe the cost of boats and rvs these days (pre inflation).

Woot!! Happy you are feeling a little better, Dale!

Good for you, Joey!! Some times you just need a day for yourself.

I just did a basic beef, cheese, noodle and sauce lasagna. We had most of the ingredients but to save money, I grabbed a container of cottage cheese that was on sale. I prefer ricotta but this works too. We got 4 meals in the freezer now and I used up the mozz and parm that have been in the fridge. I love my freezer meals. Definitely saves time!
