    Good morning lurkers

Same as far as the temps. They say one or two days next week may hit 40.

Dale, hope you are feeling better.

    Have a great day!
    Good morning Sara
Weather app says it’s 30 this morning, possible 44 for a high with a chance of rain.

    Good evening lurkers

Uggg, another 4 inches of snow here, for the ride home, roads were a mess and it's still coming down, my car is covered. One of the towns nearby received 65 inches  I'm thankful that wasn't here lol

We had bulgar and red quinoa with chicken stir fry. Everyone cleaned their plates but agreed that rice is the preferred carb when it comes to stir fry.

    Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday.

    Good evening Sara.
We had baked ham, baked sweet potatoes and broccoli tonight.

That is a lotta snow! Can’t imagine it. We didn’t make it to 40 but did get some melting started.

Good morning Dale and lurkers  Happy Fri-Yay!

Welcome @Nitwit. Hope your weather is better than ours

Right, Dale! Who would’ve thought all of winter would have happened in a week. I’m hoping it’s not like this for the next two months.

    Have a great day all!
    Good morning Sara
‘I hope for your sake it isn’t either! Very cold here this morning, the wind is brutal. Took Paco out at 4 a.m. , he peed and ran back to the door

Good morning all. It has been a busy couple of days. I did go shopping for Ken's birthday present but the only thing I could find was two pairs of boots and some ski pants for me.
    1laugh.gif
I had 5 pairs of boots in my cart but ended up putting 3 back. I could not turn down boots for $8. The ski pants were $10 marked down from $40. Hamricks is my favorite store for good deals.

Ken still had a good birthday. We went to Bonbon's and we ate those fantabulous ribs. We had the leftovers last night. We had almost half of the ribs left over. I added baked beans, homemade slaw and sweet potato fries, deviled eggs, and coconut cream pie for dessert. I asked him what his favorite pie was and I thought he would say apple or something easy. Nope. He wanted coconut cream. I have never made one of those, but it turned out splendidly. I had never made meringue either. It was easy too. I guess I should have gotten deep-dish pie crusts because I had a bunch left over. I put that in little pudding bowls and Ken stuffed Vanilla Wafers in them. I liked it that way too!

On top of all that, my brand-new heat pump stopped heating the house and we woke up to a cold house. Had to call the man who installed the unit. Again, he said he had never seen it happen but some wire broke. It was an easy fix after he found it (took him about an hour, working in the cold). He only charged me $80 which is good for a service call. He always works me in when I have a problem which I sure do appreciate.

The coffee is great this morning and it is already up to 34 degrees. At least it is not raining. It is going to get up to 46 so maybe I should try out those ski pants.

Oh, I got my Temu order in yesterday. I have got to stay away from that site.

Was pleased with everything except the stainless steel utensil holder. They put that in an envelope and it got crushed. I took a picture of it and sent it to Temu. They instantly credited me. They do have wonderful customer service. I tried to bend it back out but you can see it was damaged. I found one I liked even better and it is in my cart now. I have never brought that website up without finding something I want/need (mostly want

    Good evening lurkers

I'd guess we are up to 2 feet out there, more nasty weather and commute stunk both ways. Glad the day is over. The 65 inchers are now up to 80 inches.

Haha, Dale. Lucy loves to just stand on the porch in the freezing cold. I keep telling her she's not a husky but it seems to go in one ear and out the other. However, if there isn't a path clear, she will potty on the sidewalk...go figure.

Oh no, Rat2. Glad it was an easy fix but not fun waking up to a cold house. Happy to hear Ken had a good birthday and I'm with Dale, love coconut cream pie. Definitely sounds like great customer services by Temu. I refuse to look

Eggplant parm, spaghetti and green beans for dinner. Hope everyone has a great evening.

I would have loved to have had a slice of that pie, I love coconut.
And I would have loved to share it with you!

It is funny. When I was younger I do not remember liking coconut that much but I sure do now. I was more than pleased with the pie I made. It must have been good because there are only 2 pieces left.

Since I have leftover coconut, I might have to make some macaroons. Would not want to waste the coconut. heehee

Since I had leftover slaw from last night, I had Mrs. Paul's fish fillets tonight with homemade oven french fries and a shrimp cocktail. I have not had fish sticks in forever and I thought they were tasty.

It has been a good day to fly a kite around here. I wanted to try out the new ski pants on the motorcycle but I never got out of my pajamas.

Ken is watching movies and I am looking at knitting patterns. I only knit in cold weather. Not sure what I am looking for to make but I sure love to look at patterns.

Good evening Sara and Rat2
Sure glad we don’t get your kind of snow Sara!

Rat2 I’ve been trying to avoid Temu, moderately successful  I did order quite a few things from them and was mostly pleased.
No,plans for the weekend, we rarely do.

We had rotisserie chicken with baked potatoes and salad.

Good morning! Brrrrrrrrr Thank you all for sharing your polar bear weather with me. It was 21 when I got up and the high today is supposed to be 29. That is cold for us. The feel like temp was 15 so when Ken went out to smoke. . . I stayed put.
    1laugh.gif
I hope he was joking when he said we should take a ride today and test my ski pants. Nope. Not interested.

I am grateful that the heat is working, but I hate seeing my next electric bill. I don't think it has turned off but that's okay cause I'm comfy.

I finally got on the scales this morning and will assume I have a strong heart. Otherwise, I would have had a cardiac arrest. It took me too long to lose and with thyroid issues, it was hard to lose. I am going to start rectifying that situation today. I cannot blame it on Ken but I will say the boy has been eating well since he moved in with me.

    Hope everyone stays warm.
