Good afternoon ladies

Wow, a quarter wouldn't even buy one chip these days, Dale lol (wow that you could get all that for a quarter, not that that was your allowance) We didn't get an allowance.

Oooh just call me an influencer  It smells good, just hoping it tastes good. Made a few changes. We ground up some stew meat to get it out of the freezer, one of the chili packets was a Tex Mex flavor and the store didn't have vidalia onions, only yellow. Enjoy that nap, Rat2!

If we had less houses around, I might be tempted to get a burn barrel.

Good afternoon Rat2 and Sara
Not going to make our predicted high as it’s currently 29 degrees and 3 o’clock. Quite the cold we’re all dealing with this year!

Yes Sara, I guess those were really the good ole days  I also remember minimum wage being 3.25 when I went to work at 17. That’s when my parents stopped buying my clothes and stuff.

I think it was 4.25 when I started working. We got the basics, but if we wanted name brand or something extra we had to use our own money (bdays, side jobs, and then actual job)

We just paid 17.00 for paper towels. Walmart brand. Absolutely ridiculous. Had I known beforehand that's what they were, I would have said skip them.

We're enjoying the heat wave at 25  Supposed to be 46/rain on Thursday. Don't know where all this melting snow is going to go.....praying not my basement.

hahaha my spendthrift was bringing them home and because they were walmart brand I assumed they were cheap. but nope. We'll be using handtowels from now on. ;)

We haven't had a major flood down there in like 4-5 years, so we should be ok but I always get nervous.

Gonna watch some tv before bed, hope everyone had a great day and a nice evening.

Thank you Sara. My chili was pretty tasty, if I say so myself and just right for a cold day. We just ate a bowl of it for supper with crackers (me, I had oyster crackers on mine). Tonight we will fix what Ken calls Scrambled dogs. Nothing special you just tear the bread up in a bowl and put on mustard, ketchup, hotdog, relish and then the chili with crackers and cheese on top. It is not an attractive dish but boy do I think it is scrumptious.

I was not planning on going to the bar and watching a football game but that is what I did and I did have a nice time. We left as soon as the game was over. His team did not win but at least it was a close game. I sat and read how to play football and asked questions. I think I understand the game a lot better than I used to. I do like learning new things. Thank goodness if he watches the World Series, I understand baseball.

We were in bed by 11:15 (which was the earliest in forever) and I was so sleepy from not getting but a couple of hours the night before that I went to sleep pretty quickly and was sleeping really well when all of a sudden Ken flopped his hand on my lower back and scared the bejesus out of me. I tried to go back to sleep but couldn't so I just got up and thought I'd write y'all and then try again. I am having coffee right now which usually helps me sleep. I think I'll Temu for a little while and try it again.

Hope everyone is sleeping peacefully.

    Good morning Dale

Ugh that’s the worst…being scared awake. Sorry, Rat2.

Yup, had a couple of disappointed guys in the house from the results of a football game. Meh! The days of Buffalo making it to the superbowl are long gone.

We like to add cheddar cheese, sour cream, scallions and eat the chili with our hands  (we use tortilla chips, scoops, or Frito scoops)

Hope everyone has a great day!!

‘Your chili sounds like DH’s preferred method, I add a little ketc to mine but otherwise prefer it unadulterated

Very nasty day ahead for us, raining and freezing.

I am hoping to get a better night's sleep tonight. I had a good day though. I took my aunt some chili and spent some time with her since I have not been doing much of that lately. It was nice.

I went back to the gym today and rejoined. They remembered me. Most people do.

It did not take long for me to realize that I was out of shape. I did take it slow. I only walked two miles on the treadmill and lowered all the weights I was doing six months ago and not near as many repetitions. I think I will be okay in the morning. Maybe a little sore but that is mainly because of the rain that is coming. I swear, these o'l bones are more accurate than Doppler radar.

The chili was even better tonight. I love chili. After you add up all the stuff I added and the cost of the lean hamburger, it is not an expensive dish. At least I had several meals off of it and two containers to freeze and one to share with my aunt.
    That's pretty good.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday. Hugs to all.

Good morning all. Sleep finally! YAY! I slept good but I'm greedy. . . I want more.

heehee I am pleasantly surprised and not very sore at all. I am going to have my coffee and get moving like I used to do. Isn't it wonderful?

High today is 45 but 60 tomorrow. That would be great if it was not going to rain. I can't wait til springtime.

    Have a happy day.

    Good evening ladies

Glad you got some good sleep and weren't sore, Rat2.

We will hit the 40s tomorrow through Friday with rain. Made meatballs on garlic texas toast with mozz cheese. My new favorite. Too lazy to cut up veggies, so we had triscuits with them

hope everyone had a good day.
