Gosh, I have missed getting on here. Sorry for the absence again. I have been really busy and quite active since last Friday. I have been helping a friend who has a house that is around 100 years old. He had to replace beams in the floor because of water damage from a stove and we have removed 3 layers of flooring. He is going to pay someone to finish it. We dumped 9600 lbs of flooring day before yesterday at the dump. I have been a busy girl!

When I am upset or worried, staying very busy helps me to get through it. I have always been that way. Perry is a very nice man at the Moose that Ken introduced me to. I know that sounds a little weird but he has helped me more than I have helped him.

He is one of the most interesting men I have ever talked to. Very smart and different from anyone I have ever known. He is the one that made me the beef jerky. I am planning on helping him can this summer. Not because I want to start doing it but I think if I help, he will share!

One of the other great things is he love to see me do different things because he knows I have not done very much. I have gained 3 more pounds because of what we have been eating but it has been a new adventure for me. We have eaten Thai, sushi, and Vietnamese. Yesterday we went to a meat market that had cheese and stuff hanging everywhere. I had the best sub (Italian Stallion) that I have ever eaten with a delicious pasta dish. Of course, we have shared the food at the Moose also. I have probably enjoyed his cooking the best because I have never had a man who knew how to cook and wanted to cook for me. That's pretty nice. I wish he would make another meatloaf.

I have been very clear that I am not looking for any type of relationship and he understands. He has not dated in a very long time so I think he is enjoying this too. Oh well, I love having someone to go off with and a friend is a good thing. Since the two women I used to go off with a long time ago have moved away, it is nice to have a friend kind of close by. His house is twenty-some miles away. The best part is he does not want or need anything from me. He is retired but works part-time. He does everything for himself. I am NOT worried about being a "Sugar Mamma"!

That is where I have been and what I have been doing and the reason for my absence. Please just be happy for me. I am staying busy and I am not sad.

I have missed everyone!

Talking about hair! My mother kept mine so short when I was little. She would cut my bangs and by the time she got them semi-straight, they would be little springs and looked silly. When I got old enough to take care of my own hair, it was long and it is still long. I have lost 50% of it but I still wear it long. I am a ponytail girl.

    Howdy Rat2!
‘Glad to hear you’re keeping busy and making a new friend

My mom also had all my hair wacked off every summer until I was old enough to deal with it myself then of course it was long. Now that I’m so much older it doesn’t look so good on me long so I like it short.

Dd downloaded an apt on my phone. It prints out what people say. Comes in handy.
Do you know the name of the app? That is awfully helpful. I did not even think to look for an app and I am well aware that there is an app for everything.

Now I’ve got a huge list to tackle!
Yes, I bet you do but you deserve some actual relaxation too! I can remember when I worked that because I never went to the beach or anything, that I would catch up on everything that needed to be done, and that I was glad to go back to work so I could rest.

I got the yard mowed but just as I finished, I felt a rain drop and for the first time I put the mower up without cleaning it up. I edged the driveway in the rain (it felt good) but I will have to do the trim work another day. Always something that needs to be done.

Had rain this morning and it is cloudy now. Almost makes me want to go crawl back in bed. Good day for it. Got wash going and am about to have my second cup of coffee.

I am thinking seriously about going and getting a mani/pedi. I have worked hard the past week. I cannot grow nails because of my thyroid condition. Before Ken's funeral, I had gel polish put on and it is so nice to have strong nails. From what I have read, I am not sure they are very healthy but it is a treat. My nails will probably not last all summer because I cannot play the guitar or uke very well with them.

I think it might be a slothy kind of day!!!! Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

    Good afternoon ladies

Next week is supposed to rain, so that will be my downtime. I don't mind because I'm away from the stress at work.

Grocery shopping done for the week. Spent $91 this time but that includes the things we need for Memorial Day. Time to plant my flowers and power wash the patio furniture. First time...wish me luck  Little nervous to use the power washer.

Rat2, go get your nails done, girl. You deserve it! Mine don't grow very well either. Always splitting and breaking. I've been adding collagen peptides to my coffee and that seemed to be helping but then I painted them for a few weeks and that completely ruined any progress I was making. I cut them all off and will start over. Really stinks.

Alright, back to work. Enjoy your afternoon!
