ETA: my last post.
Allergy or sensitivity to chemical products.

He also stated that lawsuits are a BIG DEAL with all the different companies. They're ALL extremely serious when it comes to product safety and skin.
It was really comforting to read that because of all the hype you see online.

Yum, yum, YUM Lori! Looks great! :D

About time to wrap it up here and head on home...catch you all later.
Safe travels Angel.
That steak looks good, I like broccoli :drool::drool::drool:

Do you rinse out the grease or just leave it as seasoning??
My mom would put hers in the oven if the oven was still warm, sometimes she'd just turn it on low for awhile to make sure it was good and dry.
But she only really washed hers if there was something super gross and stuck to the pan.

If you wash it be sure and dry it on the stove so it doesn't rust!
...cuz they'll rust, that's for sure.

Yes. Kitchen towels in the dryer to fold, forgot about them.

:lol::lol::lol:

:nun: No kidding!! I'm sure they still know how to COLLECT the fees though!
I printed out the paid receipt, it's good for 30 days after they expire (end of July).

I waz just kiddin', I knew you would share. :D

...so, you still need a big pot for your Sunday gravy. :) Unless the one you got is coated.

I know, DH won't eat melon, not enough to help anyway. :( So, I rarely get melon. I love it too!!
...just eat the inside of the pie...remember, like when you were a kid.

I used to really watch and try to buy organic (for awhile), I've used that site many times.
Then I happened upon a blog that's written by a chemist who worked for one of the big cosmetic brands, Loreal maybe...he said that the organic stuff is a total waste, unless you have an allergy to something.
There are only a very few, as in basically non-existent, ingredients that are capable of passing through the skin. What we apply topically to our hair, and our skin doesn't permeate beyond the dead layers of our skin that we will shed anyway. :)
AND, he said that you're MUCH more likely to have an allergic reaction to natural ingredients vs. synthetic chemicals/ingredients because your body can recognize natural ingredients, whereas synthetic isn't stored in your brain (think evolution).
...like OBG said, the roaches wouldn't eat the fake butter.
Fish won't go after shrimp from the grocery stores (so my nephew says) because there's something on it they can recognize as fake, most likely a preservative.
They will go after some things because it's more a movement, and they'll "hit" it before they know what it even is, but if you're trying to get bait scent out in the water to draw them, you have to use bait shrimp/fish.

I use natural oils for my face, organic because I don't want to put pesticides on my face and because of the way oils are extracted from plants and flowers, anything on the plant is concentrated. Some things are cold pressed, so the pesticide would still be there.

...anyway, for many things, you can save your heart earned $$. :2c:

It really was!! It was really good too! That's the size they usually are, so we always just split one.
I have not seen the dutch oven yet only online pics of it, OBG mentioned not to cook anything acidity with CI tomatoes have a lot of acid in them so I dunno. But when I can actually see the size of it I will decide if I will cook my gravy in it.

Hahaha, I was going to say I'd eat the filling of a couple of them, but thought that would be rude ;) heehee

Very good info to have. I don't worry so much about me because I'm sure I've been exposed to a lot. But I figured I would try my hardest to limit kiddo's. :)

You can try it, but OBG is right, it will pick up a metal taste...now, if it's like one of grandmother's CI that has GENERATIONS of season on it, you might be okay...

... it's been a good food weekend here! Broccoli was our vegetable, but it wasn't done at the time.

    :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

But she only really washed hers if there was something super gross and stuck to the pan.

I boil water then scrub it with a stainless scrub pad( no soap) when that happens, works every time :2c:

But when I can actually see the size of it I will decide if I will cook my gravy in it.

If you do have a backup plan for dinner, trust me :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Made it home hours ago...however the Princess did not fall asleep in the car on the way home and I couldn't just put her straight to bed like I usually do (I knew that dang nap was going to be a problem :glare:). Ended up giving her a bath to hopefully relax her (uh nope, she didn't want to get out of the tub and had to coax her out with promises to watch Mickey Mouse. After that finally got her some chocolate milk and got her to bed...I will have to get up early (well for my day off anyway) to take her to daycare, but I'm betting I'll end up having to wake her .... up to go...I always do.

Oh well, will unwind for a few with a book and then try for some sleep...good night lovely lurkers.
