Sleep at a hospital is pretty non existent. I am the same way about pain meds. They had to talk me into taking something at night so I could sleep in the hospital. WRONG since I generally fight the feeling pain meds give me, I ended up staying awake until the meds wore off.
Didn't even take Tylenol when I finally got home. I actually was released 2 days sooner than normal after my resection. Totally due to not taking pain meds. Pain meds slow things down, when it comes to the colon, so it woke up a lot sooner.
Hope you get to escape today! Just take it easy but keep moving when you can.
