Ft Hood is Central TX, well North of the flooding. I suspect that they are running out of gas due to a combination of extra traffic from refugees, from relief and rescue organization heading south (also FEMA is using Ft Hood as a staging area) and from limited shipments coming from the South.
Oh, I bet you're right!

 I was surprised it made it in one piece. Lol

Yay! Glad you were able to get some stuff. Eeeeks about the fuel. :( I hope things get back to normal soon for as many as it can. I know it will be a long time for a lot.

Whoah, I'm jealous!! All my dentist provides is a travel sized toothpaste, sample of floss and a new toothbrush. ;) I'd skip that for a massage and TV lolol.

Kiddo's dentist has tv's on the ceiling and they can watch movies. Last time he went they didn't call him in quick enough though, the girl before him chose Frozen. So he was stuck with "let it go, let it gooooo" :sneaky:

Ooooh, #3,

I'm sorry you've had a rough week. I'm glad you get Monday off, as you should! I hope you get to relax this weekend. Forgot to tell you, DH won a $150 gift cert for a local butcher at a fundraiser. I figured we'd get whatever they packaged up, but it sounds like we can pick and choose . Just not sure if there's any room in the freezer :facepalm:

Sorry you too have had a rough week. Hopefully this weekend will leave you feeling refreshed! Sweet dreams Angel
Oh boy, Frozen.

Nice prize!!
Sweet dreams.

Time to call it a night and turn on the boob tube, sweet dreams gang :)
Sweet dreams OBG.

Sweet dreams Angel, and Dale.

Your drinks sound wonderful Robin and Angel. You both deserve them!!

Whoop Whoop! :banana::wub::):wub::thumbs:
How did Mya do today??

Heading off myself.
Sweet dreams all.

Good morning, Lurkers! Looks like we won't be going anywhere soon. This run on gas has left our town and many others depleted. I have 2 5 gallon cans full for emergencies. Any groceries will have to be got from our little local store instead of driving 15 miles to the bigger market we go to. I sure hope they open up down at the coast so fuel trucks can start running again.

That's just moronic and idiotic. No reason to panic like this. Same thing is happening around here as well.

Good morning Dale, Paul, R1 and the sleeping Lurkers.

Paul & R1, sorry to hear about your shortages. :(
I saw that on the news...AND the big trucks. ;)
Hopefully it will get replenished soon and you won't have to deal with that.

Happy Friday :)

Good morning, retired. It's just panic mode alright. There was no way for gas stations to keep up when everyone all at once were filling up. I've seen posts here and on Facebook from people in Oklahoma and other places facing the same thing. Ridiculous. I've got enough gas in my truck to last me for several more days. DW's car, maybe a few more days if we take it easy on the driving.

I have about 3 days worth of commuting in the tank, 4 if I keep my foot out of it. Hoping the Shell station on the way into work still has fuel. If I can top off, I'm golden and can last over a week.

R1 did you know you can order freeze dried food through WW? they will deliver it to the store and you pick it up,saves a bunch on shipping costs and they always have a sale going on for one kind or another.:2c:

Some stores even have grocery service. You order/pay online, drive to the store and they load it up for you.

Expect to see even more in the way of ordering/delivery services. Right now they're testing delivery service in a couple of markets. Employees drop your order off on their way home. Personally, I have some serious issues with the program as technically, you're using your vehicle for work and if something happens, your insurance company is going to be a donkey's behind about it.
