In the past, the whole family gathered together for Thanksgiving dinner. Now, there's just not many of us left around. It started dwindling after my mother passed 5 years ago. My sister is an LVN and has to work. All her kids (17 of them) have all grown and moved away, mostly to the Missouri area. Dad just doesn't want to go out. Leaves just us, but will at least take him a plate. My 2 kids are grown, married with kids of their own and have their family functions. It gets rough when everyone is gone.

    About the same here tomorrow I'm going to cracker barrel they put out a good deal on Thanksgiving, then I get to do it again on Sat with the kids(my EX and my son both work for my daughter :laugh:)so I forgive the kids for celebrating it with their mother every year when Becca(daughter) can get them all off on the same day :)

    Finished off my outside stuff,almost :thumbs:still need to go unplug the battery charger from the mower and reset the shop clock it's an hour fast still :rolleyes:when I looked at it I was thinking it sure took a long time to get stuff done :laugh:
    That's a really cold 37 degrees outside too!

    First I went out to the mail box in my PJ's and tee shirt it was a little cool so I put on some pants for the other stuff,I didn't think it was bad with pants a tee shirt and flip flops but I did get saw dust between my toes with the chain saw cutting up some cherry logs for the smoker :laugh:

    • Filling
    • 2 cups water
    • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 2 tsp. cream of tartar
    • 30 Ritz Crackers
    • 1 ready-to-use refrigerated pie crust (1/2 of 425-g pkg.)
    • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    • Topping
    • 25 Ritz Crackers, crushed (about 1 cup)
    • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
    • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
    • 1/3 cup non-hydrogenated margarine, melted
    • 2 cups Cool Whip Whipped Topping
    Heat oven to 400ºF.Filling:
    Mix water, granulated sugar and cream of tartar in large saucepan. Bring to boil on medium-high heat. Add crackers; simmer on medium-low heat 5 min., stirring occasionally.
    Line 9-inch pie plate with crust as directed on package; fill with cracker mixture. Sprinkle with lemon juice and cinnamon.
    Topping:
    Combine all remaining ingredients except Cool Whip; sprinkle over Filling.
    Bake 15 min. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F; bake 20 min. or until golden brown. Cool. Serve topped with Cool Whip.​
