In your nightmares
Good morning lovely and handsome Lurkers

Good morning Dale and KC

Glad you don’t have to go to work KC and can tackle stuff around the house.

Happy Anniversary, @pwheeler Hope you two had a great dinner! That’s great you’ll be able to unload for free!

Dale, hope Bela has a great time at the zoo :)

Lori, hope you’re training isn’t too bad. Does it calm down a bit once the springtime rush hits? Or is it crazy busy all spring/summer?

Wow, that's scary!! What is wrong with people??

Good morning all.
Sitting having my first cuppa...not ready to get moving yet.

Oh boy Dale. So much for quiet morning time.

Thanks for the morning cuppa KC, hope your projects go well. :)

Thanks Sara, I hope so too.
There are videos to watch and a workbook that includes "homework" then online tests for the different categories within the system.
As far as how busy it will be, and for how long, depends on the weather. If we get lots of rain, or enough that the grass keeps growing, it will be busy well into summer.
Normally, by July, sometimes mid June, the rain slows down, then it will slow down.
This time of year it just all depends on if we get bad storms too. Fingers crossed, but so far we haven't had anything very bad. I did see a chance of storms for a few days next week though.
It seems busier because service is short handed, parts is generally always steadily busy, our office is hectic because of the pending system change over, and the office gal going into semi-retirement, training the new gal, and the normal office stuff that just never ends...
It's like anywhere else, you go down a couple people and things get interesting.

Good morning everyone :)

Yes, silence and stillness is much appreciated

Good morning Sara

I’m sure Bela will have a blast and Mimi can get a few things done before I have to go pick her up ;)

Good morning Lori

What a pain! They should have waited for winter to change systems
I agree, 1000%.
I asked the service mgr. if he had started any of his training yesterday, oh my...the look I got.
He said he doesn't have time to take a #@$% let alone mess with that.
He said if they switch it over, they'll have to revert back to paper until it slows down.
Service mgr. #2 said he didn't have the book yet, or the download on his computer so he could even start training, but he's had a helluva couple weeks.
His MIL passed, after a long, extended period.
The day after she passed, his wife, the daughter of the woman who passed, was in a very bad car accident, broken ankle, compound fracture, broken ribs, etc...she'll be in the hospital for a total of two weeks, one more week to go.

The parts mgr. basically said the same thing as Svc. mgr. #1.
Those three are already working 55+ hours each week, and at some point you just can't load on anymore...physically, or mentally.

I honestly suspect that they're going to have the install done then wait to do the actual conversion...I don't know, because then the data/transactions, won't be caught up to date...
It's going to be a *real* mess, but the people will be here mid May, to do the install, so I guess we're going to find out, they're NOT local, they're coming from Colorado...not going to be fun, that's for sure.

After the response I got yesterday, I'm not mentioning it again...*to anyone*.
#headdown/lookbusy #speakwhenspokento

The problem is the system we're running is a Windows over dos, it's not functioning properly anymore, the company who wrote it has been after us (them) to replace it for more than a few YEARS now.
They're not even going to offer anymore support for the program after this year.
As it is now, the gal I work with has to go into the database and "fix" weird stuff almost daily.
The new system is going to cost something like $30,000.00, *X2 locations*.
Our store, and the other location he owns, because they have the same system we have now, they're having similar problems too.

...so, if I'm worn out or .....y, or quiet the next couple of months, don't mind me...this too shall pass, but oh getting over the hump.

Good morning Joey.

Exactly, I think it's above 7 that schiz begins to fall apart...but seriously, what I know would fit inside a thimble.

I told my boss yesterday that I didn't think I wanted to work there anymore.
He looked at me funny, then saw the training screen I had pulled up and he busted out laughing.
He said OH, it will be sooooooooo much better after we get the new system.

    ...uh huh.
Good morning Lori and Joey

Oh wow Lori, it’s a necessary evil that will definitely be miserable for awhile. I’m sorry.
Thanks. I know, then when it's done, over with, up and running, it will be fine...just getting to that point that's gonna stink. :)

Aw now, boys gotta grow ;)
You deserve a treat after this week. So I hope it’s good. :)

I know and he sure is. We have done the instructional sports with this organization for so long, they feel like family. The only sport he hasn’t aged out of yet is flag football. But that program is huge and not as close knit as soccer and hockey.
