    Good morning lurkers

About to head out to the fall festival to celebrate my mom’s bday. Then she wants to go to a Hibachi place for dinner.

Hope everyone has a great day!!
    Good morning Sara
That sounds like a great way to spend your day, enjoy.

I’m watching Kalli on my own all day so I’ll be busy:/

    Hey everyone! Remember me? heehee

It seems like it has been forever since I have been on ECF. Real life just. . . got real, if you know what I mean. I feel bad because I did not post but I know y'all understand.

When I moved in with dad 7 years ago, I promised myself that I would take the best care of him that I could and I would do it for as long as I could. So I am grateful that I was able to do just that. When I tell you that he could not have stayed home for one day longer, I mean it.

I had to call 911 one last time because I could not get him to the hospital. When he left, I knew that it would be the last time.

He spent 11 days in Palliative Care while waiting on a bed at a Hospice facility. The night he passed was the only night I had stayed. Somehow I just knew. I cannot tell you how very grateful that I was able to be with both my parents as they took their last breath. I cannot be sad because it was more of a relief. He was not suffering any longer and I had a huge weight lifted from my shoulders.

I just wanted to tell everyone because, for so many years and so many posts, y'all have been there. It was really my only life for much longer than 7 years.

Now I am going to continue "caregiving". The only difference is that the patient is going to be me! This is the first time in my 62 years that I have not felt like I was responsible for someone and also the first time I have not had someone telling me what to do and how to do it. heehee

I still have much to do and I am going to try to start getting back on here more frequently. Thank you for understanding.

    I have missed everyone.

‘I’m sorry to hear that your father has passed away, I was thinking that might have been the case. It’s hard losing a parent but I fully understand your mixed feelings, been there, done that.
‘I’m also happy that you will finally get some peace and happiness for yourself, you deserve it. :) And happy you came back to us, we missed you but understood things were hard for you.

Sorry it took so long to see your post, I had Kalli all day on my own and she’s really high maintenance .... I’m exhausted

Good morning Dale and lurkers

Ohh Rat2, I am so sorry for the loss of your father. (((Hugs))) I know it hasn’t been easy for you this last year, be kind to yourself as you grieve and as always we are here for you!

Sorry, I missed your breakfast yesterday, Dale. Mmm looked yummy. I had a giant Bavarian pretzel at the festival. The leaves are changing colors and the area was absolutely beautiful. Oh boy, solo sitting. I bet Kalli tuckered you right out lol

Hope everyone has a lovely day!

‘I’m glad you had a good time yesterday.

And yes I was exhausted when DS finally took Kalli home. She’s absolutely adorable and sweet but she never stops moving or pushing her limits. And no matter how long she’s here she won’t nap ... and Mimi is getting older I guess. I really admire grandparents who raise their grandkids .

Hope you enjoy your extra day off :)

    Good evening lurkers

That’s for sure. I’m glad you just get visits and occasional babysitting. Lol

My day off was spent napping. Headache and just needed to relax. Not looking forward to tomorrow. My job this week is walk-ins. Thankfully I leave early tomorrow and Thursday for the last week of soccer. :thumb:

We had pork roast, mashed tates and steamed broccoli for dinner. Mm. Sweet dreams

    Hi Sara
Bummer I hoped your extra day off would be enjoyable :(
I know how you feel about those walk-ins, maybe there won’t be very many.

We had bbq pork sandwiches and chips and I cooked a pot roast for tomorrow .... then my boss Randy texted he didn’t need me tomorrow to wait for Wednesday.

Hope you have sweet dreams also

Can you believe it is 8 o'clock in the morning and I am getting ready to take a shower and fix my hair? I have a lunch date!!!! It is going to be my 4th date with a really wonderful man. He called yesterday to surprise me with lunch and I surprised him because I was already at a restaurant waiting on my cousin and two other girlfriends. I took my aunt and we had a lovely Mexican lunch. I was glad that I talked my aunt into splitting a taco salad with me. heehee I definitely could eat it all but I enjoy the meal so much more when I only eat half.

I hope everyone has 1/2 a wonderful day as I am planning to have. heehee (insert wink here)
