Good morning Sara and Rat2

Surprise surprise woke up to 31 degrees this morning, burr! Not sure what to wear to work:unsure:

Reading about your date was just like reading some romances I’ve read Rat2. I’m really happy for you! Love that the dog helped you fit in so well:)

Man I still remember helping dad clear out their house after mom passed away, it took weeks . It’ll be worse when dad passes.

I‘m with Sara, we absolutely do want to share with your journey

It is a beautiful morning even if it is a little chilly. 34 degrees right now and we are supposed to get up to 57 today. The first freeze warning is on for tonight. I have always believed the freeze tells the trees to let go of those leaves. I bet this year will be easier because I will not have to get out there and push mow to mulch so many times. And I definitely will not be blowing my gutters out 2 or times a week like my dad made me do. I am going to laugh at those leaves until I see the last one fall to the ground and then I will mulch them up with dad's lawnmower that he would not let me use. Dad made me do maintenance on it but only let me drive it down the driveway one time. I'm sure with the choice of raking, push mowing, or learning to use that behemoth I will have an easy time this year.

I am not exactly sure what is going to be on my agenda today. I am still reveling in the fact that I can do whatever I want to do, whenever I feel like doing it and no one is going to tell me I cannot.

I have got to figure out how to add my own little emoticons. My posts seem so boring and ordinary. That is just not me. heehee

Have a wonderful morning everyone. I'll be back!

Dad only let me get rid of moms stuff a couple of years ago even though she passed a little over 18 years ago. He just did not want me to change anything. I am not going to wait. There is no reason for me to keep this stuff when someone could use it. There are over a hundred different plaid shirts in there that could make a lot of older men happy. I still have not figured out why he had so many shirts when for the last 7 years I have only washed a handful. What a waste.

When I used to go visit my grandmother-in-law at the nursing home, I remember some of the men there could use some better shirts. I wonder if a nursing home would take a donation. The only problem is his shirts are 2X Tall. If y'all have any suggestions, I would appreciate your opinion.

    Dress warm dale!

Good morning Dale, Sara, R2 and lurkers

We started mixed veg yesterday, we will run that until the end of November. These 8 hr shifts feel good right now, I still feel worn out though. I can work overtime if I want too when I need the extra money. Right now I need the break. I have thurs and fri off :w00t:

R2 glad you are getting go out and have a good time it helps with the grieving process and also gives you a break from going through things in the house. It was rough when my wife passed away going through her things.

(((Hugs))) Rat2, I’m so glad you have control over your life now :)
I dressed in layers today ;)

Hey Joey  Happy you’re getting to cut back now, 12 hour days are hard.

I’ve been home since 2:30 but between bathing and feeling especially tired I’m just getting around on the tablet. I think it’s sinus issues since I had the windows open day before yesterday

We had pizza for supper, haven’t been having it on Sunday for a while now for some reason.

    Good evening lurkers

I just sent a couple of my dad’s shirts to a friend to have memory bears made. Planning to give one to my brother for Christmas. Better than them hanging in my closet. Sorry if I already told you all that lol

I’m sure the nursing home would love the donation. We have red bins here. Hearts for the Homeless. I put all my clothes/linens in those bins because the ones that can’t be reworn or reused are recycled (ripped, stained) and don’t end up in landfills.

We had cheeseburgers and onion rings for dinner. Cold and rainy, but Dh still grilled. Getting to be the end of that for another year. The boys are about to head over to the high school for the varsity soccer team’s sectionals game. I had planned on going too but decided to stay home with the rain. Cold is one thing. I don’t do cold and rainy if I don’t have to.

‘I don’t blame you one bit for staying home, I’d rather do the same in those conditions.

That’s a wonderful idea for your dad’s shirts!

I had a salad for supper trying to make up for all the things I have eaten since Saturday that I do not usually eat. It was delicious though and do not regret eating one darn bite of it. heehee

Went to the DMV today and took care of two of the 3 vehicle titles. I correctly set up those with "joint with survivorship". Dad just made me a joint owner. Oh well, it will get taken care of after I go downtown and get the probate process started. I hate going downtown. The last time I went it was to that Ukulele Meetup and the GPS woman told me to turn onto a one-way street when I exited the parking garage.

I forgot how many brass things my mom had in this big closet. They used to go to flea markets and mom always came home with something brass. It needs to be polished but I sat a bunch of it out in different rooms. After going 7 years without being able to move anything, I am rearranging like a mad woman. heehee

I am already yawning so I am going to try to go to bed soon. I have been going since 6:30 this morning. I can't believe I haven't put my pj's on yet. I usually do that before I eat supper. I need to start reading again. This is the longest I have gone. Since I have been letting my knee heal up some, I have not walked in 2 weeks and that was where I did most of my reading. I may try to take a very short walk tomorrow and see how it does. I hate going to the doctor. grrrr

Hope everyone has a great day.

Today went horribly wrong one of the mechanics lost his arm in a machine. Young only 21 years old, when I left work he was still in surgery. Very sad day I can’t stop thinking about what happened.
Oh, that makes me sad too. Bless his heart. I hope the surgery goes well. I am not sure what kind of accident it was but were they able to try to re-attach? 21? Just a baby.

Woke up at 4:30 and knew I would not be able to fall back asleep, I had good intentions but did not get to sleep until after midnight. I cannot understand why I am still having issues. There is no reason for it now. It has only been a month so maybe it is just going to take a bit longer for me to adjust. I am just grateful that when I wake up, I feel like I have slept enough. Maybe I am just too excited to greet the new day. heehee ;)

Rat2 you’ve had sleep issues for years so I’m not surprised that is continuing. Hopefully as time goes on you’ll readjust.

Oh Joey that is absolutely horrific  That poor child, I hope and pray he recovers well. :(

Oh, Joey, I know it is upsetting to you. {{hug}} I just pray the young man has a very close family and friends because I know he is going to need all the support he can get during his recovery. I cannot even imagine how he must be feeling. I think the hardest part of any tragedy is asking yourself "Why?" There is no answer. The truth is. . . bad things happen and they happen to good people.
Wish I could say something that would take away a little of your sadness but all I can do is be sad with you.

My drapes were all open before 3:45 this morning. Guess I am anxious to start my day! Gosh, that is a wonderful feeling. It is supposed to get up to 64 today and be beautiful. No telling what I will get into today. heehee

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday. Does anyone have any plans for the weekend? I don't have any yet and that's a wonderful feeling too. heehee
